Esports Boxing Club, or as it's known currently as Undisputed, had a lot of hype to fill the decade plus void of boxing video games. Unfortunately, it does not even come close.
think about what you just said… no game should be having this philosophy of releasing shit that’s terrible and giving naive fans hope they’ll fix it 😂😂 they scamming yall…
Huuh?? 90% of the ppl that bought this game agree w/ most of everything said in this video arguable. The only 10% people that don't are casuals who just want to button smash. 10% out of a million is still somewhat an alarming amount of people which effects the whomping 90% of people that wanted a boxing simulation. Not some rock em sock em stamina draining hack for usual fighting games like Tekken. Not that there's anything wrong with that but not when this game is predicated on being the sweet science of pugilist simulation. But if you think this content creator was paid to say all this. You're just the minority that thinks that honestly. Or you're not being honest yourself.
@@jeremiahmillan4487 I'm no casual and I don't think it's bad, just needs a few updates. I don't button smash and probably one of the best on UFC 5 at standing. I'm a level 34 and beat higher levels often, including level 100s who don't button smash.
Yeah sounds like Madden/CFB25 fans….it’s a continuous cycle of delusion when there’s nothing else to offer. But what I will say for it’s first installment it’s impressive but this era of gaming is cutthroat, if it’s not good the first time around it’s going to be hard get that hype again. I think if they work on updating the game (obviously) and making quality to life updates then it would probably be a better game for boxing fans….I will say this though, if they can survive then I think Undisputed 2 would be way better.
It is a good game only bad thing about this game is ppl spamming power punches without losing stam and alot of yall never boxed irl or kno nothing bout boxing so yall be inpatient and thirsty for a KO instead of boxing and jus going all 8 rounds
Don't be sorry. No one read what I typed last year when I typed that the devs were done with the game in the quote beta phase. They just wanted your money upfront with the promise its get better. They had no intention of that. They wanted your money, yall gave it to them before it even came out, and now they've been done with it since January.
@@alexxxkwhere is the clenching? Why do all the hit interactions look so unreal? Why is there no Hands-On training ? I can go on and on about this terrible game
I don’t like the fact that no matter where you dropped them they end up in the middle of the ring when the count starts. There’s like 3 different animations when they’re getting up 😔
As a diehard boxing fan who plays this game every single day and will continue to play it every single day. I just want to say THANK YOU. Finally an honest review and the sad part is you still couldn't cover everything like how boxers don't stop fighting at the bell no full ring walks no gloves tap, can't change weight classes. If this game was $20 then I'd have no complaints and would be fine with everything coming later but for $60 $80 it's a complete scam
Nah deadass, you know your striking is garbage when ufc 5 is more fluid and has better boxing mechanics than a game made specifically about boxing, damn 😂
Go watch the March 2021, alpha gameplay when it was called ESBC. It actually looked simulation based like they promised from the start. Now, three years later, the current build of the game is a shell of that. What a shame LOL.
We need more videos like this, calling the BS in this game out with no filter. To many videos are being lenient and actually blaming the community for abusing badly poor thought out mechanics.
thank you for being the ONLY content creator to be truthful about this game. literally no one is talking about the fact that the game looks the same as it did last year.
11:42 I literally told my friend that the boxing mechanics and UFC were like 10 times better than this game. Thank you for making this video I'm glad I'm not the only person who feels this way about this game.
Considering how long this game took to develop and all the delays we got they made it seem like we were getting a slow roasted beef Wellington instead we got a microwaved turd
I think the biggest misstep here is not delaying this and having it play tested, this game gives me a lot pf fight night 3 vibes, from the controls to the way the mechanics work. This power punching should use a mechanic like fight night 3 where it would consume more stamina and be slower so it cant be spammed. No clinch is insane, even if it was just an animation to save yourself when you get rocked and it isn’t here. The game has potential, however im not convinced steel city has the ability/talent to get there when launching like this. However though a few crucial updates and soon it could be something great . It is sad that we have gone so long without a boxing game and some how a 2011 game is still better than
Same here. Of course I notice some of these things, but what nay sayers refuse to accept is that Fight Night existed since 1999 as Knockout King and Friday Night Fight. UFC benefited from those trials and errors. Undisputed being compared to a 20+ years boxing/ mma series is very unfair. Steel City did a great job as this is their very first boxing game. I love this game and the future game they will make for boxing.
Also, wanna say something about what they said, in 2022 they said they were gonna add "free roaming" for career mode and more gameplay to it, and when release happened, we never got it.
Surely at this point it would be better for a company to totally copy/imitate EA fight night from years ago, take the flak for being a shameless copy but have success in the game market, instead of this downward spiral of meaningless development.
Undisputed is a complete failure and Steel City isn't showing any promise. I regret paying $84.79 for this game. Not only is the game unplayable because of the extreme delay, lag, freezing and bugs, but they got the gameplay logic all wrong. Creating a fighter is pointless because mycareer is bare bones and we can't use our created fighters in online modes like you can in UFC games. Boxing is supposed to be a chess game and the smartest boxer is supposed to win, but nearly every opponent spams power punches, mostly hooks, even when I'm nowhere near them, but they don't get tired. Head movement doesn't dodge punches. Blocks don't block power punches at all. Even power jabs go through blocks. Stepping to the side doesn't dodge punches. Stepbacks are useless. Countering doesn't work. Landing a power punch 1st doesn't disrupt punches like it does in real life. Punches are always hitting me far out of punching range. The game is not responsive because lots of times my punches, movement and more don't work at all. I can't fight in the pocket at all because my player completely freezes while the game lets opponents throw loads of power punches at me. I'm not even scratching the surface.
Career mode is my biggest dissapointment especially because its minimally changed from the early access days - apart from the gameplay loop the constsnt simulation of time via menus gets very repetitive very quickly
Here’s the real problem. It took them over 3 years just to deliver a decent beta. They had everything dialed in very good and really just needed to tweak a few things and add others. Unfortunately, they completely ruined EVERYTHING. As someone who boxed over 2000 online fights and put in over 1800 hours into the beta , i can assure you this full release is not even half as good as the beta was and Steel City failed miserably with this launch. All the real beta veterans know I’m speaking the truth. Imagine console players paying double the price of the EA pc beta for something half as good. Imagine reality. 🤦
Im baffled they didn’t put any kind of parrying system in the game. You can’t just have these dudes, throwing haymakers so easily like that without it being punished. Fight Night had that built in to the gameplay so I’m confused as to how they missed the mark on that. There’s something definitely there and it’s fun playing career mode, but online is completely busted and the fighting mechanics is not complete.
Totally agree with you, they should of added either Pacquiao/Mosley/Delahoya/Marquez/Miguel Cotto if they wanted main audience to play their game. Amir Khan, Canelo isn’t going to cut it lol
You will never see floyd in any boxing game in last decade. His NIL price is way too high for games. On another note, they gotta fix this, and they will.
@@robwilliamson6181facts. I hate when punches miss but one, I never play online and two, it was merely for the memory and the update of boxers. Is it too expensive for what it is? Yes. Does career mode kinda blow? Yes. Do I hate how they get up from a knockdown? Yes. But do I love beating up canelo with Roy jones? Also yes. I play the shit out of this game. It has potential. So ima keep praying
I agree that the game could have more fighters but the reason Floyd isn’t in the game is because he wanted $10 million to be in the game which is ridiculous considering he’s supposed to be extremely ritch and supposedly the reason why Mike Tyson isn’t in is because EA have the rights for him there are deffo things that could be improved on but overall I don’t think it’s a bad game I think it’s good
I mean honestly this is why pushing is illegal in boxing in real life that’s why you here the ref say “ stop pushing “ but people that never been in a ring wouldn’t know
It doesn’t help that all the meat riders are saying it’s good, that’s why the gaming industry sucks people don’t hold these gaming companies accountable. If they would stop glazing and call the creators out on their BS this type of stuff would stop happening. The game isn’t bad but it certainly isn’t good from a development standpoint .I knew things had gotten out of hand when saw people saying this game is better than FN Champion bro…It’s not better than Fight Night 3 let alone Champion.Champion came out 14 years ago and still looks great not to mention the online play is pretty good
Crazy how games made for the xbox 360 ten years ago are still better than the sports games we get these days(You can throw Madden, UFC, WWE in as well.)
Boxing Fanatico has been really quite lately since the game released he has been playing it on his channel or speaking about it. He’s the creative Director for the game if I’m not mistaken too
We start having people lose a lot stamina for them power punches first, that’s the huge problem. After that we can start focusing on the other little stuff but we fix that everything will be okay
I'm so glad someone else felt that the boxing movement and the striking elements of UFC 5 are literally better than this "Boxing Game" . EXACTLY how you put it... "BUT ONLY if it was just UFC 5 physics with pure boxing. I'd take it! Hell I think remastered "Fight Night" with the launch of "CyberPunk" could do better than this CASH GRAB on a starving genre with ZERO computation for the current generation. (AS A FULL GAME NOT MODS) P.S This was gem to find...things might seem small now but you got this man. Great Content! and with the same effort people will just keep pouring in trust me. Much Love, Good Luck Brother
Floyd was also missing from the previous two Fight Night installments. The reason? The same reason Barry Bonds was missing from several MLB video games.
The amount of Miss punches that should land is outrageous outlandish and I'm pissed I wasted $85. This game literally is not good. There's not even a training portion to the game where you can just go in and work on combinations or counters. We need an option to spar but be able to control what the AI does
Thank you for being, I've been seeing YT lying through their teeth about this game, this game is absolutely 💩 for the Hype. I got a refund after 5 years
I still find the game fun, but all of these criticisms are correct. Online is a nightmare. I refuse to use heavyweight. Lower weight classes is slightly better but you still get spammers and rage quitters. Unfortunately , this was an issue in FNC , but at least they gave out penalties by way of the do not finish stat.
You said the game looks alright while Real life Roy Jones was coming out during gameplay the sht looked exactly like him and you talking about some alright graphics stop the cap 🧢
See, I could deal with the limited modes or the small roster IF the actual boxing was good. The major problem that was evident since the initial Early Access was that the animations are way too stilted. The characters move too robotically. And I cannot get over that. Also, I was thinking the exact same thing that was mentioned at the very end of this video: I have had more enjoyment playing UFC with just an all-striking character who just relies on punching. It's WAY more fun than I would have thought, sort of like playing Steve Fox in Tekken. As for Undisputed... it needs more time in the oven. If they can overhaul the hit detection and hit reaction system so the charactrs don't punch and react ike robots, it could end up being a cool game.
Boxing games have never really evolved. Still the same clunky, jerky button bashing you had in Knockout King's 2000. Everything needs to be more fluid/dynamic. Why can't it be? You're confined to a small ring. It's not a massive open-world game.
The defense in the pocket is suspect, and he desync is annoying. I'm going to make an effort to get used to the defensive tools. The head movement seems lousy. There's no angle jabs. Buttons are a problem. There's spam, then block strength is gone. There's probably no training games because they know it's flawed. I'm still going to find a way to practice, though. I think it will be very challenging to get that defensive achievement. Right now, this is looking like a money grab.
i got it on steam (last year early access) and put about 25 hours into it, and that was just creating diff fighters. I'm glad I didn't get it on my PS5 cuz it looks exactly the same as it did a year ago lmao
Finally, a content creator that tells the truth about this game. I'd still pay around $40 for it; but the mechanics still feel & look robotic (let a fan tell it, and apparently you have to actually know how to Box in order to play properly).
Im glad someone said it... nice graphics but it ain't on the same level as FN Champion... I'm so sick of people thinking it's even in the same league.. online, career, boxer likeness, roster, gameplay... everything about FN was better except graphics..but it also came out forever ago... and ppl still play that game!! That says something
Not a controversial take at all. I had the game cheaper while it was in Early Access on Steam and it was totally a game that you can play for like a day or two and then not touch again for months and months... All the problems with hit detection and such were present DURING Early Access and as a matter of fact we probably WORSE. To get even more in depth, the judging system even in single player is pretty lackluster and cheesy. It's judged SOLELY on accuracy (or at least it was last time I played). You can be WAYYY more active than your opponent, if they go 15/17 punches and you go something like 34/50 they used to win that round. This game is FAR and away from a GOOD game. It's an okay attempt and sure maybe something to KINDA scratch the itch that you JUST can't quite get from the UFC games, but it's DEFINITELY not worth the price and it's far from being a good polished boxing game overall. They're just trying to fill the void but seems like they shot their load on graphics and the mo-cap but not the actual mechanics and game modes.
Wow! This is the best review I’ve seen on RU-vid! Super honest and not delusional at all! They robbed us of what could have been a super great authentic boxing game I honestly would’ve bought this game if I could’ve just created a Stable of created fighters I just wanted great gameplay mechanics
Yeah it’s got a lot of problems, but I’m having a lot of fun with it, the footwork and combinations feel satisfying, I’m overall satisfied with my purchase and I bought the $80 version. The biggest issue is people quitting ranked matches, crazy they didn’t foresee that smh, also the power spamming is wild but if you’re decent you can handle spammers.
Fr bro its fun but its always people that want to look passed that and be ungrateful like people got to realize this is an indie studio the fact they even have any licensing in a sport like boxing which is filled with politics is just wild that they were able to accomplish what they have in really proud of the game so far
@@rjwright6197 fr I think it’s a solid foundation especially for a smaller studio, when it clicks and you start combining footwork and combinations it’s actually really easy to beat power spammers, I’m on a huge win streak but literally everyone keeps rage quitting like 7-8 matches in a row, that’s the biggest issue for me currently. IMO this is the best feeling boxing game, yeah it’s rough around the edges but if they continually improve it, it has the potential to be truly great. No regrets, I’d spend the 80 again.
If you're looking for a simulation style boxing game, you could always try Bloody Knuckles Street Boxing. It may not be as visually pleasing as Undisputed, but it's very deep mechanically and it's still in early access.
I purchased it upon early access release way back in, I think the start of 2023. Was real rough and raw but felt like there was a foundation there. Gave it a go again last week having heard about the console release. Seems like in worse shape now than when it was first released, and I'm an offline only player. The movement is so rigid. The animations seem to have taken a step back. And there's more glitches now than when we started too. Weird game
It's goes down, but there's no punishment for completely depleting it. The cap to recover your stamina doesn't go down all that much, and by the time it does, it's in the 8th round where online fights are already over.
This might be controversial but I think it would be sick if they did a influencer DLC and added people like Jake Paul, KSI, iDubbbz, Sam Hyde, Harley Morenstein, Wingsofredemption, Boogie2988, Dad, etc etc etc
2:13 I'm glad I'm not the only person to take note of how nice the footwork looks in this game. That was the one thing from gameplay trailers that gave me hope for something good, because every other boxing game I've played, even the great ones like Fight Night Champion and Boxer's Road 2, tend to have the fighters flatfooted. It's really depressing to see that the minor detail that initially got me optimistic for this game would turn out to be the ONLY decent thing about it.
I had an online match where I hit the character so damn hard that he backed away and walked out of the ring and continuously backed out until he backed out of the arena into nothing but blackness. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Very good game, some bugs yes, need more fighters yes, but some idiots dont understand how to play the game, they complain about blocking but dont realise that blocking wont keep punches away for long. You need to move and counter to defend. They have done a good job with the game.
I gotta admit..same I’ve been having fun with this game the one issue I have is the stamina issue honestly that’s the biggest issue to me gameplay wise. The AI will constantly sway and power punch seemingly with no bother of stamina and its effect..yet somehow while I’m trying to play strategically against that AI that does that it frustrates me when I’m somehow super low on stamina despite the AI doing that stuff. Satisfied With my purchase like you are but definitely has gameplay flaws. I don’t play online for real so I can’t say there. Haven’t played career either
I understand everyones disappointment. But this is a very small company based is Sheffield, this is not EA sports or 2k. They will update and make improvments. But i can guarantee most of the budget went on the licences for the fighters. Give it time..its all us boxing fans have got. 😂
My issues with the game : - the animations are clunky, the gameplay isnt that smooth, theres no clinch, sways/feints/lunges are ineffective. knockouts dont feel that satisfying and damage system is awful - the game lacks modes and depth, major issues with online. and offline modes are too limited, career is very basic etc. theres not even a ref in the ring - you cant do much with the customization either, created boxers look like plastic dummies. and the roster missing names like Tyson, Pacquiao, Holyfield, Foreman, AJ etc. yeah money is an issue, but if they saved all that budget they spent on nobodies and fem boxers, im sure they could get a few more legends to the game instead
