Ya girl is starting her very own small business and I'm so excited to share this news with yall. My business is called Sweet Masonry! Yall know that I am a home decor enthusiast so starting this business came so natural to me. Sweet Masonry, my home decor line, is full of cute and nifty home finds that make your home feel welcome & inviting. On August 21st we will be launching our Halloween & Pre-Fall collection on our website. Please sign up for our newsletter to get notified when our items go live & follow us on instagram! In today's video, I will share the journey I've been on to create this business. FYI - former business owner stocking - breakables, heavy lower shelf - soft, light weight top shelf - couch, your personals dog, etc - your office - show floor table check out - toiletries U had n your class - alarm system-cameras - I thought U where going to online with your shed then grow to brick & mortar- however go for it - shelves by sink - food items after U clean/sanitize- protect space for bugs/rodents

Try moving the couch to your office so that way when hubby come hang out he has a place to relax while chilling with his wife🥰🥰 and do two chairs in the space by the door with a cute area rug to free up some space! And do one tree out in that area and the other tree in your office! Also I can't wait to see how you fix up the restroom and kitchen and especially your office!

That’s exactly what I was thinking as far as the couch is concerned. I would get a nice console table for the bathroom or small long hutch for additional toiletries, a nice area for rolled hand towels, a nice plant, place a nice big picture on it, faux candle set, Kayla-tize it…

Oh my goodness LaToya, I was thinking the same thing about moving the couch. I think you should keep the couch, it acts as a blank canvas, you can add any color to it season after season and it will still fit the decor (unless the color is really different in person). I was also thinking you should paint the table and move it from the spot you have it in now.

I am already getting my space ready for the items I’m ordering from you! Try a Yerba Mate Bluephoria, they are yummy and natural. When it’s time to pack orders, please leave marshy at home so there’s no Dog Dander in the boxes being shipped out. I think it’s safe to say, a nice amount your followers may have allergies to pets. Congratulations 🎉🎊 I would move the couch into the office to make room for more shelving and move the table closer to the kitchen against the wall. You might end up needing that extra storage space for boxes and extra inventory. Unless you utilize the space in the bathroom and put up some sort of divider

My Yorkie Poo has hair that grows long on her backside and my suggestion to you is to learn to cut it yourself to prevent the poo from sticking to her fur it’s a lifesaver..and I love the new office and good luck on your new business endeavors you really have a great eye for interior design and remodeling 😊

After you clean & sanitize the sofa, you can play on the colors with pics, rug, wall decor or use sofa covers for the color you want. Unless the idea is for customers to see your inventory, I’d use one of those room dividers for privacy. Nonetheless, I’m so Proud of You!!!!

Hey Kayla so very proud of you great job. I wished you would have stored your packaging and recycled it for your shipping. Shipping products can get expensive and many of your boxes were perfect fits because they came in the very boxes you got rid of. I have a gift basket business and I learned to recycle mostly all packaging for shipping my products.

CONGRATULATIONS 🎊 KAYLA. Very impressed with your hustle and drive. As for decorating ... definitely curtains and a nice window logo, I happen to love the color of the sofa. I'd get some nice pillows and a throw and leave it alone, paint the table and chairs a brighter color and maybe change the wall color throughout your space. Truly, I'd cover the back storage door with something that would make it flush with the wall, put the sofa back there and do a mural on that wall. Then move the shelves forward to the front window.

Congrats 🎉🎊. I wish you lived here in North Texas because my school district throws office supplies and furniture away daily and those shelves are in abundance weekly along with file cabinets, chairs, etc… I’ve supplied so many people and my church with lots of supplies. We are in the suburbs and they order new things all the time our classrooms are state of the art. I really enjoy telling folks to pull up their trucks and shop for free from the warehouse.

Congratulations on your new business endeavor. It's crazy just a couple of months ago you were packing up your classroom for the last time. Regarding the table placement and entryway, get a slender console to put business cards, potpourri and hard candy/mints. Also, you have to have enough space to accommodate wheelchair accessibility leading to the bathroom. You want to be strategic in placing decor in the bathroom to accommodate for accessibility too. Maybe putting the table against the back wall with the chairs on each side? Oh yeah, get a white noise machine and an air purifier for sure. I am so excited for you!

Congratulations! Advice from a veteran entrepreneur, try to minimize your spending as much as possible in the start of your business. And you may already be doing this, but make sure to have a business bank account separate from your personal account. Also, find a CPA as soon as possible so they can help you limit your tax liability now before tax season. Track everything (purchases, miles driven, etc.). Wishing you much success! 💛

Congratulations Kayla. This looks amazing. I am so happy for you. Even though I live in Texas I would like to suggest that you keep an open floor plan area for your guest who have wheelchairs, walkers, or other devices to get around. You decorate so beautifully, and you like to fill every space. It could make it very difficult for people who have trouble maneuvering especially coming in doors or getting to the restaurant. I personally think if you put the round table that you got from your mother in your office and maybe get a glass and metal stand table to display your item of the week or month that could be better. However you choose to display your space looks awesome and congratulations once again.

Congrats on the new venture - I know you'll be blessed with astounding success. If I Amy make a suggestion. I had a beautiful Westie and she was trained to paper. If you set up a tray in the bathroom for Marshmallow - she will learn to go in the restroom and take care of her biz. You and immediately empty to toilet and change the pads when she urinates. Put her toys on something different from the pads so she doesn't get confused. Just a suggestion - hope that helps. Best to you with Sweet Masonry. Looking forward to watching you grow.

Love the space 😍 Miss Business!! I agree about the sofa as well it does not pair well and takes up precious real-estate. Maybe you could find a counter/service desk for that space where your sofa resides now and place your logo behind the counter on the wall in big bold fancy letters. That way your entryway is free and clear and you can greet your customers with an aromatic smell and a smile!! Also more shelves to go along the back wall to cover storage room you don't have access to and maybe a center line of shelves to create an isle look. Move your table to the kitchenette against the wall for pass thru to the bathroom. Maybe hang a tension rod for separation to hang some beautiful curtains for privacy in the back. Wow that was a mouthful huh?!! Just some ideas I thought of while watching your video. Cudos to you venturing out living up to your dream sis and your name Young Lady Business!!! Love ❤️ 😍 it!! Congratulations!!!! Yes, you should paint the table. And place the sofa in your office area. Maybe place one or two chic chairs by the entry instead. Or you may want to add more shelving. I love the ideas others have mentioned as well.

So Glad and joyous for you. Just some ideas to help utilize your space an placement of your furniture. By placing your sofa in your office an add 2 more shelves to that wall too use for your seasonal decor, and add a smaller chair, in that area like a small cozy corner. Also put your table in your office and collapse one side then get a small high barstool table with two high chairs to put near that area that you took the other table from. You would like to keep your space clear and spacious for clients to walk and view the decor. Just some ideas.

You could buy custom covers for the couch so it’s the color you want, which is what I would do cause $100 is a great deal!! That’s the perfect couch!

Congratulations!!!! My mom owned a novelty/ party shop in the 70s& 80s. I remember breaking down all those boxes even back then. But eventually we learned to save them and reuse them for our customers who wanted us to ship the merch to them. (No online sales back then). Get ready, you’re about to be one bust lady. 😁😁😁🤗.

I am so happy for you. I am trying myself to be more organized and focused on my soap making business. I have wanted to start an RU-vid channel but I am so nervous to start. Since I covid last year I wanted to wait till my lungs were healthy enough to be around lye which I use to make soap. I am so proud of you and your soon-to-be husband. You could use the table to display your items. Maybe do an inspiration table to show customers ways to style items from your store. You can do this seasonally also and post pics of the table to your insta. Since the table is pulling more orange, put a simple, solid colored, round table cloth over it.
