I am staring life over at the age of 33. Is it too late to start over at my age? Sometime I do think so, it's not easy to start from scratch when you had plans to start a family soon not that long ago... My world has changed so much in the last few years and I am still adjusting. I used to be married for almost 10 years and I can't get used to being single and the whole dating scene. My life is a mess, problem after problem. Living in a van full time doesn't' make my life easier. Full time travel and being on the road has its challenges; dealing with van breakdowns& things breaking and falling apart are daily occurrence. I feel that I am not mentally stable lately, perhaps I am having a personal crisis, perhaps I am just healing... For now I will just open the door to my life to any stranger that wants to listen. Remember to be kind...

Starting life over again is difficult. I can't believe I am single for over 2 years now. I am far from where I want to be, things take time and for the most part I am very lost at this moment. Terrible life changing events drastically altered my consciousness and I am slowly getting to discover myself again. I am experiencing a rebirth and it feels uncomfortable. Have you ever felt the same? Am I the only one stocked in a freezer response mode?

I lost both my parents... I moved out of my apartment to help my mom, who had cancer. She died at 67, and my dad, who had been with her since they were 16, had taken his own life... both 67. I'm a grown ass woman who wants her parents. I lost my first born to stillbirth... and after that, I had an addiction problem after the epidural they did was improperly inserted... at 15 being on oxys, vicodin, and percs. The doctor took me off after 6 years... I ended up numbing my pain with drugs, I'm 34 now, and I wish I had the answers for you. My heart broke when you told us about Philips passing. I wish we weren't on opposite sides of the country cuz girl, you'd be welcome at my place ANYTIME. ❤❤. Wish I could help you.

Look. I don't like mincing words. My advice is to accept it. Forgive yourself. This is harder to say than you think and I'm gonna. You need to getcha some sausage. Yeah it must have been 2 huge shocks for you, so sorry 😢. I have had health problems for 20 years , its very unstable so makes it hard to heal the deep trauma. To feel better its important to feel safe and secure plus understand the architecture of trauma, brain and nervous system. Ton of videos on RU-vid and plenty on Reddit of sharing advice and stories. So understanding, meditation, conscious breathing, write journal, hold and feel emotions, have community and positive people, have insight on attachment styles and your beliefs about the world , brain retraining and affirmations, somatic therapy to process the trauma etc. It can be a long deep journey to heal, feel safe and claim sovereignty. I am 58yo, I have 3 ex-wives and I was diagnosed with stage 3 bowel cancer 6 months ago. (I now have a 50/50 chance of living) ... I still get up every morning and try not to think about my situation too much. A very old man once many years ago gave me some good advice - " no matter how good or how bad your life is right now, it will change"

Separated for almost a year soon divorced , and with lots of harsh consequences to deal with because of the separation, But I trust that I’m gonna be okay, YOU gonna be okay! God is no respecter of person, there are countless stories of people who went through far worse situations and still God restored them and gave them a future and a hope. Jesus is still on the throne, he loves you and cares for you. Turn to him and he will give new meaning to your life. Your best days are still ahead of you

I'm 45 just starting over 7 months new to Hawaii. I moved from NJ with only a couple of thousand dollars. It is very difficult to pick up the pieces and start over. Just keep faithful and God will provide for you. Wishing you love and aloha!

I re booted at 39, never looked back, I had zero $ zero goals, zero self esteem. I have totally re started ,am now 56, been married, had a beautiful daughter, and got my own home. It can be done, enjoy the adventure!

@nanasabia I got a government job, saved hard and worked extra shifts for a couple of years, saved a good deposit and got a housing loan. Will still have to work to pay the loan until retirement. I do miss the freedom of low responsibility though!

I feel you baby , I lost my wife to breast cancer in 2017 I was 48 and all those things we worked so hard for dreams together retirement together went up in smoke . And now I am sitting here at 55 and just lost our puppy that me and my wife got about two years before she got sick and I asked god to please take her gently and he answered my prayers , she passed away in my arms during sunset just the same way when my wife passed away . So now after lots of tears I have pulled myself back up my head high and I getting ready to head out on adventure to see America through the eyes of emotionally beaten man . But I know life will get better and I will have my day in the sun once again . But a word of advice set your goals set your direction a compass and find your true north as love will come around to brighten your life !

I am starting over at 44 alone, no family and real real friends.... People are programmed robot slaves of the system thinking happyness starts with extern factors like status, money, material things that means nothing and its relativ and an illusion create by society. If your happyness depend on extern factors, you will never be happy because extern factors are endless. Happyness starts inside you. The more people around you, the more expectations, talk about others, lying, frustrations, negativity, jealousy, double standards, own benefits, hate, judge, comparing etc..... reflection of their broken souls. Alone or in solitude you have more strength, peace, power, happyness, freedom and time to reflect and work on yourself in the here and now where the magic happens. No, not feeling superior or better then others but more be carefully and aware. Be the light in your own life. Blessed and loved to yall

Keep your chin up ! I didn't get married until I was 39... and my first child was after 40. 14 years later, and even though it has been tough at times, I am thankful and blessed for what I have. California is a tough place due to the cost of living... might be a good idea to head a bit further east for more affordable services ( food, repairs, etc... ) I am praying for good vibes to come your way ! One of the best times in my life around the same age as you was traveling around in a Westy like yours. I worked as a chef doing seasonal work in resorts during the summer and ski resorts during the winter. Many places I worked actually gave me free room and board. It was great to be able to bank all my pay, free room and board and met some really great coworkers in resort areas. Off days I played hiking, kayaking, skied, exploring the places where people came to vacation. Anyway, sometimes plugging yourself into a regular job for a season or so is therapeutic, both financially, mentally and a great way to see wonderful places. Good luck to you :)

Just keep moving towards being happier, is all we can do, really. I am 49, but I would not call you young - you have lived more than most in your time on the earth. I would call you energetic, which is what life IS. You survive, and try and be happy.

My daughter is about the same age as you are. Her boyfriend took his life as well. Now she has a kid no boyfriend but a decent job and is finally making a come back. It is a slow process. You are a beautiful person you will attract someone who will be great for you. Just give it enough time.

I almost lost my life in 2015. I was hospitalized for a month. During that month, both of my parents died and I could not see them. I slowly healed. In that one month, I thought a lot about my life up till then. I realized I had a second chance. I have went through the depression and sadness. I still feel it to this day. However, I have adopted a new attitude that goes like this: Any day above ground is a good day . I know it’s easy for me to say that now, but let’s just say I’ve been through the emotional trenches one goes through when life takes the wrong turn and losing the ones you love. I do not worry about death anymore. My main goal is to live life to fullest and go as hard as I can. Happiness is waiting for you. Push through the hard times the best you can. Keep doing what you’re doing. I, like many others enjoy your content. In fact, you are one of the influences regarding going out there and enjoying the world through van life in which I am doing now. You’ll get through this and I’m rooting for you. 💯💯💯

It can come about due to financial troubles, home foreclosure, bankruptcy, repossessions, divorce, the loss of a job, or a combination of any, any, and all. I've experienced them all. The first order of business is securing employment and having the means to get there. Any job is better than no job to start with, following that up with food shelter and water. If you have transportation, then you've got shelter in the short term, water is easy to aquire, for food you might need to rely on community food banks for the short term. Then, it's a matter of outlining a plan for improvement in all areas, set goals, and take baby steps moving forward.

In the same boat, i have a job my own place im 39 years old only had one girlfriend for 1 year in my early 20s, no friends. I used to have alot of friends and went out alot. When i hit 28 it all stopped. To help my depression i just accept the fact that this is how my life is gonna be also weightlifting and music has keeped me going for over a decade.I have 2 cats that are my everything. You should adopt a small dog for your van.

I've been working the same two jobs for the past 5 years, still living in a one bed room apartment like I did when I moved out of my sister's apartment 5 years ago. I feel so stuck in life and like such a failure. To make things a little worse, I recently lost my dog who was a close friend for 12 years. I've never felt more alone, and I keep telling myself what I need is a new start. Currently waiting to finish a short photography program before quitting my full time job and risk it all. But also, i'm just so unsure of everything. Life could go any which way right now, and I'm scared the path i choose won't lead me what I want. Funny thing is restarting life is a part of life. I had to restart after my 12 year relationship ended, there have been many ups and downs since 2021 but I am much happier now and focusing on my passions and purpose in life. And while I've been fascinated with videos of people living the van life for quite some time, I am finally in a position to get a van and explore more of this country before I retire and move overseas. So embrace the change and enjoy the moments because that is what make life worth living.

I'm 34 and my ex husband also decided to wake up one day and divorce me after 11 years together and 7 years married. So far I moved to a different state to start brand new, but now that I've settled and the tress from the divorce is a bit less than it was I feel lost more days than not. I believe we can start over at any age, I just don't know what it means to me yet. I thought that moving out of state was it - starting over, but that was just the tiny part of it it seems.

Don’t get carried away and worry about things you lack when it comes to societal norms. All the things you think you want could be given to you in an instant and you still wouldn’t be satisfied in the end. Focus on now, not tomorrow or yesterday. The journey is the experience and fun. Don’t get so caught up on on what you think you lack and where you’d rather be that you forget to live in the present.

Hi Lidia. I’m here in the UK 🇬🇧. Oh you don’t have to tell me about how life can be pretty 💩 at times. I’m full time caregiver to my 2 Disabled adult sons and believe me life can be very difficult and stressful…… but while we have a breath in our bodies we should just keep plodding through it all 🤷‍♂️. Just remember that you have a lot of people from all over the world who are very much behind you ❤. Give yourself time to Grieve though,nobody likes to be alone but going into a relationship because we feel lonely doesn’t always work out very well,you will find someone but when the time is right. You are a extremely attractive strong woman and the perfect person is out there ❤

I feel ya ,had the divorce at 39 ,took my 2 kids with the clothes on our backs, I got us self help housing for a year or 2 , got a job tree trimming, worked hard ,things eventually got better . As an amputee it was extremely hard climb. Got a new home my kids are raised. Moral of the story ,never give up . Good things come to good people.

i love your "one less Sprinter" bumper sticker, i want one hahaha. anyways, i hope you get everything you want. i hate that so many of us vanlifers are traumatized. so many of us dont really choose this lifestyle, but are forced into it. i'm in a van with my partner after not being able to lock down an apartment. we have no savings, both work minimum wage. i had lost my very well-paying job not long ago, i had to rehome my household pets, i had to sell my horse. i was very lucky and blessed less than 2 years ago and now i'm houseless and scraping by. can't really drive too much cause of gas prices. things will get better. for all of us. i wish the absolute best for you! i throughly enjoy your content and always watch to the end. keep it up! xxx much support from Toronto, canada!

He says you can mess up your life and still make it. Lidia, you are in the process of greatness. When you quit is When you failed. Keep working. Every human goes through phases and just the fact you recognized you need to change - the van is a good first step away from your old self, the past and an adventure into the unknown. Girl, you are still young. I’m sorry you are going through a tough time but try starting over at 60!!!! 😂😂I started over at 37 and then again at 60! It’s hard at any age but at least your chance of finding love again are much higher. Stay positive! ❤

Everybody thinks you gotta live life a certain way, but at the end of the day YOU decide how you want to live your life. YOU define your happiness and your success. You went through a double trauma. A divorce and a traumatic death. Be kind to yourself. Give yourself plenty of time to heal. You are still young. Don't compare yourself to other people or give yourself unrealistic timelines. One step at a time, one day at a time. 💛

Be careful living on the road. Also, I wanted to offer you some encouragement. I started my new life at 37. Had a bad time in my life up to that point, but when things happened for me they happened very quickly. I found the right partner (same age as me), we had our first baby at 40 years old, our second at 42. We bought our first house (in California) at 43, and we have discovered through our interactions with other parents that many of us started our families at an age that used to be thought "old." In the Hispanic culture there is this unnecessary pressure to "adult" by a certain age, but economic realities are undeniable. You can't grow a family until you are solidly grounded yourself, economically, emotionally. Focus on your continued growth. The universe will open up for you. It is a gift to struggle when you are young.

I'm 47 I thought I would have made by now myself also I thought I'd be traveling by now but it seems like I'm stuck in Kentucky so I guess I'm here for a reason? Your videos brighten up my day. Your energy shines through your smile. Keep on keepin on and if you ever travel through Southeastern Kentucky you would probably have more rights to sleep anywhere you want without anybody bothering you if they do you can sleep outside my house. A lot of people camp around here all I really don't believe anybody would ever bother you. I even know someone from Hawaii who moved here I really don't know why? You would figure Hawaii is like paradise maybe they just wanted a small town to live in? I've been single for 5 years it's not easy!

I went through a brutal change of life @ 33yrs. old, surviving it & here at 69, 36yrs. later, still here to talk about it in my right frame of mind! "TGFJ"

36 and starting over. I'm currently going through a divorce right now. I have 2 yr old son and a daughter that was born on father's day which I have not gotten the chance to have met yet. Separated from your kids is a different level of pain altogether. Only choice is to take one step forward and keep moving on. Keep busy and keep moving is all I could say.

Oh my goodness. I had no idea to the extent of which this had all happened. I followed you for a bit and remembered a number of losses you endured but did not know he had taken his own life. I am so sorry you have had to have all of this in your experience. I know what you mean about starting over. For 3 years I was with my husband and he was battling terminal cancer. My husband had passed away last year and it has been so crazy coming back to reality and finding myself all over again. I definitely resonate deeply with your story. I’ve been experiencing a lot of PTSD over the last year but still moving along well

Yeah in life it sometimes feels like the world is crashing over your head and everything is going wrong, but you have to remember it is just a temporary. Thanks a lot for the video! Random find- I empathize fully, disabled vet, divorced-ex took everything and she’s the one that should have lost the case, credit was ruined, rebuilt - fell in love again she died in a automobile accident, etc…rebuild and repeat, change is hard. I’ve had it hard but someone else out there has it harder. Keep your head up, stay motivated, one step at a time. You’re a very beautiful woman and I’m sure you’ll find what you’re looking for in whatever you do.

Thank you for this video and hearing about everyone else’s journey in the comments gives me strength - avoidance / denial / acceptance / growth - 15 years marriage break up and after 30 years building up assets big step back - but my kids have a house and my ex has child support so I’ve done my job there - I’ve turned the negative into a positive - new job / training and sport every day learning drums and Spanish and have quality time with my kids - money is helpful but should never be the focus I’ve learnt that

Lidia, I love your videos. I recently lost my dad and am taking care of my mother, which I have no regrets. The times that say you're down and fixed the problem. Shows the rest of us that it can be done. And be done alone with out a spouse.
