Cats & dogs would’ve worked sooo well with this pack😫 it’s a shame they’ll probably can’t interact with livestock at all :( Earlier this year I really hoped to have a farming pack where dogs could herd or protect the animals, some breeds would be better at it, some would be worse ect
@@lottechar2435 yes ceryain cat and dog species that can interact with the farm animals and keep the same (more specific for dogs because I feel like any cat breed is capable of being a good farm cat but like herding dog breeds for herding the cows and llamas etc!!
I predict a long courtship between Chaz and Hazel, as she will refuse to sell off her investment properties until Chaz has something better than a shed for her to move into lol
This is the most I've ever watched James since he used to do the faceless builds years ago. I'm not usually one for let's plays but I love the Dream Home Decorator one cause in incorporates builds and renos!
A plate of grilled chicken illuminated in a spot light, alone on a vacant picnic table surrounded by strings of lights. Hmm..... That screams "trap" to me.
i love the idea of using this + eco lifestyle + the selling objects from the other packs, you can live completely self-sufficiently on homemade food and crafted furniture.
This is what I plan to do when I get Cottage Living :) I've been raising the child of my currently family to be very crafty, I play on long life so I think he'll probably become an adult right at the time it comes out.
If only we could mill flour in the Sims 4! Been trying to do a post-apocalyptic playthrough where the family can literally never leave the lot, but they've become carb-free by accident and can never have birthday cakes
i know you’re gonna get the new animals from the pack but because he’s an animal enthusiast, and lives in an alleyway i think it would be funny if he had a pet “raccoon”
well, as its supposed to be english based it would be kinda weird to see an exotic animal running around the alley! But he could have a pet fox....urban foxes are our version of the raccoon in the UK.
Free food unattended in the middle of a forest in Britain? Have you offered your sim to the fairies on day one of your new rags to riches gameplay, James?
@@JamesTurnerYT it's an old folk tale about never accepting faerie food, since it means you will owe them a favour. Random food basically displayed in forests *is* faerie food, and owing them favours can mean things like years of your life, your first unborn child or even your own "luck", meaning you will have terrible luck for a time and have no idea why! Now I want a Sims 4 expansion with fairies 😭
I’m so excited for this lol. And honestly after hating his Dad since childhood who can really blame him for cutting ties? 😂 I’m watching Deli’s next but I can’t wait to see what this pack has to offer.
I imagine that Chaz' future children (or grandchildren) would want to become Bigwallets and have that as their name again. After living the cottage life as children, they might want to rebel and strive for the luxurious life as young adults.
Mortimer Goth being in Henford on Bagley kinda makes sense, he’s related to the Crumplebottom family. They’ll definitely have a family estate there when I get the pack. 🤣
It might not work with the early access version, but there's a mod by lotharihoe that keeps sims in their neighborhoods so Katrina and Nancy won't show up in Henford on Bagley
“Mortimer Goth! What are you doing here?!” I mean, Agnes Crumplebottom is canonically his maternal aunt. Of all basegame sims, he is the only one that has a good reason to appear on Henford on Bagley.
I feel like his look fits in, too. Cassandra’s too. Geoffrey Landgraab looks like he belongs there, as well, even down to his name. Some of the basegame townies will work quite well as it feels like a rich village where wealthy families would probably have a holiday home. When the expansion packs get added in, is when more townies are going to look out of place.
You mentioning stardew valley made my day... That was literally what I was thinking, when you mentioned first fishing for money, then farming and getting animals, and the Villagers' quests?? I have been obsessed with Stardew in the last few months and this pack resembles that kind of gameplay so much, really excited to see your playthru!!
Chaz: Hello, my name is Chaz. I grew up in a haunted house with a ghost cat as a pet, one of my uncles is an alien, my other uncle is a vampire as well as my dad, who got abducted and had my step-brother. Also my mom is a skeleton maid. Can I interest you in a frog? Hazel: Uhhh... Sure...?
I feel like "simple living" is gonna be activated all the time in my game.... just because it bugs me, that my Sims can cook anything they want, no matter what. :D The world seems lovely but it´s sad, that we just get 4 plots per neighborhood :(
to be fair that is how it actually is in the english countryside so i can see why they did that (i live next to a cow field so theres little to no civilisation 😭) but they could of added more lots because it is a game-
@@DarkMimii I’m also from a place that’s too small to be considered even a village 🤣 But more empty lots would’ve been nice, so players can decide if they just want to keep it as fields or build more places to live/visit. I also would’ve preferred if most of the village square wasn’t a shell 🤔 people could build their own libraries, bakeries, shops, cafes, restaurants, etc depending on what packs they have. I think a village hall for weddings would’ve been good... it could also be used for other parties and if people had Get together then it could also be a club hangout for book clubs, knitting clubs or needle point clubs 😍
I’m like five minutes into the video and I already REALLY want to play with cottage living and I wasn’t planning on buying anymore packs for TS4. The villagers actually having purpose and playing a part in the community is SO appealing to me. I love Stardew Valley, so even a little tiny hint of resemblance of it in TS4 is getting me so excited! I want my sim to move to quit their corporate job and move to the country to start a new life on their grandfather’s farm and make friends with the villagers and be the best farmer ever😭😭😭😭😭❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I met Jeff Goldbloom too 😆 I was a nanny in the states, and the little boy I looked after went to nursery school with his son. He was super nice and such a gentlemen. Anyway I just finished the last dream home decorator episode and then got the notification for this video. I love it!!! So excited for it to be released!!!
I just got Cottage Living while it went on sale and I am struggling with this farm living 😂 so you came to the rescue with this series. I love your positivity and excitement instead of someone who just craps on every decision made by the creators of The Sims.
Honestly I feel like this pack is worth the price tag! Some packs are definitely not, but I feel there was a lot of time and effort put in this one! I love everything I'm seeing so far 😍
i have just finished binge watching the bigwallets too, including semaj streams... it's a fun way to learn new things in the game, most let's players edit out the "grind" of it all
@@Chelsea-bq1zn then it still adds up to a game of multiple hundreds of dollars. You can typically pirate, if you know how and feel comfortable doing so. Also. The sims is on steam. And actually cheaper over there. Like way cheaper.
@@dutchik5107 Yeah of course but if you buy them on sale/bundled over time it’s not so bad. I have an iMac so steam isn’t compatible for me. I have pirated in the past but I prefer just buying it.
Yesss! I hate when I get random trashplants in the middle of the street! Off lot in the grass I can deal with but on the sidewalk or road bothers me so much!
Great start! I hope this LP will get as iconic as seasons one. I think the success of seasons LP was mostly due to the fact that Sebastien got married and had kids pretty early. And country living LP has family vibes, so hopefully Chaz will do the same :) you're great at micromanaging and also we do enjoy you struggle 😁😁
I just finish watching part 22 of Dream Home Decorator, and there's ANOTHER video from James!? Is this Christmas!???? I'm loving it!!! Keep them coming!
@@bucketofsunshine6366 possibly? I mean the game is unfinished and also glitches still often make it in the game. Maybe it's also similar to like Hazel couldn't watch the fireworks in Dream Home Decorator recently and it only worked when James had Hazel set off her own fireworks.
Aw man, Simple Living is gonna be on allll my lots from now on. In TS3 I had a mod that did the same thing, so that the grocery store had an actual purpose lol Edit: Oooh, and festivals on the calendar... I REALLY hope the City Living and Snowy Escape ones are there now, too!
So far this is looking like one of the best/better packs they've made. I like packs that add re-usable value instead of situational value. Laundry day (gives you a realistic task), as well as Bust the dust kit. Then ofc seasons and pets, now this? I'm actually getting excited for the Sims again. I hope this pack holds up.
Okay, the new world looks beautiful, I will totally give it that. I wish it had more usable lots, but it's gorgeous and I want it. And damn, I think Chaz is having the hardest start to a Rags To Riches in a while -- not only has he cut ties with his family so hard he's not even in the same family tree anymore (how ARE you going to merge this into the main save file??), he's also having a super-hard time making any money thanks to needing to forage and whatnot. I think you should have paid more attention to the corner pop-ups to figure out what Michael Bell wants -- I guess we'll see if you figure it out as things go on!
Honestly I feel that any items that you can't sell normally to one of the vendors in the pack at this moment you should sell from your inventory as if it was the yard sale table and then once you can integrate it into your regular base game save then implement that rule of not selling from your inventory.
James, I really enjoy how you try to integrate your lots into the environment with debug items. The alley is genius. I liked that about the DHD let’s play house too! and just a thought - I really wish elders had their own voices like in the Sims 2. It’s a little jarring that Ms. Crumplebottom sounds like every young adult lol.
I love how when he was hungry with no money to buy food, he found a plate of grilled chicken, excellent quality, just left on a picnic table in a very beautifully lit area, with no one around lmao. I want that kind of luck in real life :D
I love every new lets play! And love the barn idea! Its great.. I ll steal those ideas 'thank you!' (just imagine its in james his voice when he steals something)
James is treating us so good with the uploads. I'm so obsessed with him right now I went back to watch the beginning of the bigwallet series. I originally started watching during the Seasons generation
