Dreads/locs can definitely move in water, however when locs get saturated with water it gets heavy and it does its own thing lol like it develops its own personality, I love her hair and I love that the production team put in the effort to ensure that it looks so stunning.

@@MTC22 it looks like her hair is mixed with some straight or curly hair at the end of her locs so that could be as to why they flow. Plus she’s deep deep in the sea so weight carry’s differently

@DolphinMom096 baby girl if the fact that Ariel is now being played by a black woman (which is an accurate depiction of where the movie is set) inhibits your ability to enjoy the movie, then you need to take one big look at yourself. White people have had 100 years of representation at Disney and in the entertainment industry more broadly and now the SECOND we start being diverse and accurately portraying the characters (that were incorrectly portrayed in the first place), people like you, dolphinmom096, try tearing it down. The first time a Disney character has had their skin colour changed and we have media uproar? Your claims of 'black people' hating the change are completely unfounded. Thank you for making it so abundantly clear that this problem is bigger than I once thought, and that it is not just one angry dolphinmom096 sitting at home on her computer slandering a beautiful actress accurately portraying the role of Ariel, it is in-fact 1.9million people. It is devastating that 1.9 million people cannot see passed the skin-colour of a fictional, mythical creature. It is devastating that 1.9 million people are willing to inject hatred into comment sections full of people who are rejoicing in seeing this type of representation. I hope that you never have to deal with anyone saying such harmful things about you dolphinmom096 and injecting them in spaces which were once safe and peaceful (like you have done today).

The character should never have been as fair skinned from the get go? There is a reason Sebastian's songs are reggae inspired. The role was never a white role.
