The screws to put it together should be on the inside! Would be nice if there was a way to give all the courier services the code. What if you have UPS, fedex and amazon coming in the same day while you're at work. Hopefully in the near future we can have a fully working system like this for all companies to deliver to us only then I would buy something like this!
I thought the same thing until I finished and realized that you cannot disassemble any one section unless you take the bottom plate off. One of the first things that I thought as well. The bottom plate is secure to whatever surface you plan on putting it on. I think it will get there pretty soon with all of the couriers having some type of access through the system that they use, but for the time being you just put a one time use access code or specific access codes for each courier service on the notes section or shipping label that’s on the box. That’s what I’ve been doing and I think it was pretty effective. I think at the end of the day if a package delivery driver doesn’t use it it’s most likely because they haven’t been told about them. Years ago I had older house with a big front porch in a not so great neighborhood. I made a big wooden lock box that looked like a seating bench that blended into the porch. It had a pad lock on the front I'd leave unlocked, when I had a package on the way I'd leave a note on the door asking them to put it in the box & snap the lock shut.
If anyone is planning on purchasing this for USPS delivers, hold off. UPS, possibly FedEx, and Dhl might use it but the Post Office flat out refuses because they have to put in a code, and that's too time-consuming. I specifically bought this for USPS because they won't put my packages over the fence but after it's all set up, it's a no go.
7:53 just finish assembled my Dropbox and there is no difference. I guessed we’ll have to make sure no water seeps in there before the carrier come. Would be nice if there is a charging port somewhere in the box for us to wire solar panel.
Good luck trying to get anyone to use it… I have a similar product at the end of my driveway and most delivery drivers just put the packages on top of the box. They don’t have time to mess about with parcel boxes.
ive been so lucky to never have this happen even when the amazon guy leaves a giant blue box that says playstation right out in the open...im really lucky *
You probably had the voice reminder turned off. That's why half of the carriers just sat your packages on your porch instead of putting them in the box.
I've had several things stolen outta the mail or that FedEx left supposedly but I never received. Some companies said they'd make it right but haven't yet unfortunately and neither has FedEx or UPS. I had ordered something for my son's bday and was to arrive a day or so before, it never showed and the tracking in said delivered..It wasn't cheap and with everything going on it took awhile to save for it and can't afford to replace it quickly so my son's bday was the 4th and I still owe him his birthday. I feel shitty every damn day until I make it right.
Might be a bit loud to break into and if they hack it, then the prize is what’s inside lol. All seriousness, I really don’t think either will happen. They would have to hack your Wi-Fi and access the app. Anything with time and the right tools can be broken into. I think it’s more about the sense of security that your package will be there when you get home and deterring thieves.
Use to work for ups no way in hell we would take the time to use that box on a big route, we already piss in bottles to keep moving and about every veteran driver has had to crap in a bag on route to get done on time. Going over DOT hours is a big fine I’d be like the other dudes not using the box the pressure of a 200-300 package route can be really difficult to finish on time. Same goes for the big rig ups drivers if they go over hours they stop on the side of the road and wait for someone who can drive come finish that trucks route. Amazon really has the system down it seems though.
