Fort Lauderdale Police Chief Larry Scirotto was ousted for trying to incorporate diversity in the workplace.
Scirotto was in office for less than a year and was widely criticized for his approach to hiring and promotion.
Fort Lauderdale city officials believed Scirotto was unfairly focused exclusively on minority candidates-- thus leading to his removal from office.
