I'm Very Disappointed With Alpha Investments Latest Video About Metazoo 

Lol Rudy was shilling Metazoo so hard even to the point it became a meme on his channel. This was a scam. Mike and Rudy made their millions and the supporters are boned.

Not to mention that his channel is almost entirely focused on investing. He doesn't talk about gameplay, he talks about markets and price movements. He literally was telling people to invest in Metazoo. Hence, why people were calling it a 'pump and dump'... Rudy was the ONE pumping it.

I've been one of his Patrons since the beginning. I enjoyed the cheap Magic and then FaB boxes to crack. I feel like he has shown his true self this year and many of us don't like it. With that being said, I've already canceled my patreon account and haven't purchased anything from him for the last 6-8 months. He won't take responsibility. He's just another rich guy who's never wrong.

I couldn't believe how easy that lie came off his lips last night. Those Nightfall 1st ed kits weren't sold for so much just for people to crack the boxes. I really appreciate your based takes on Zoo and the situations around it. TBH the date yourself concept sounds like a great idea for mental health if you can afford it.

What about the fact he said he would never sell anymore crayon promos after the initial sale to reward the people who supported. But once he saw the secondary market he's back to selling the crayon promos. Completely lied to his patrons and took advantage of them.

I enjoy the guy's content overall but that Metazoo vid was brutal to listen to. I get that he's in it for the money. The dude is trying to build a legacy for his kid and family. When he said what he did with that clip you featured, that was some of the most egregious bullshit I ever heard him say. He said it so nonchalantly, it was like he never touched or talked about the stuff ever. That was borderline evil, man.

Not a big card game fan but came here from your bodybuilding channel. But you are right, the amount of youtubers or anybody overall to take accountability for what they say is extremely slim. It happens in Crypto land as well, FTX, LUNA ect. Anyways, as a former huge yugioh player, the metazoo cards look pretty cool.

Yes they haven’t paid us. I have the original email sent back in October asking for our info. No new email yet sent to us like stated. I think they don’t have the money anymore. I believe they’ve been using pump and dumps for a while and got so used to recycling the money now that we aren’t ordering like crazy anymore they don’t know what to do. I believe it’s been severely mismanaged. Love the game still, but man. Gameplay is fun, theme is fun, idea is great, but I think they were so hellbent on partnerships they really fudged up. Should have kept listening to what the fans want.

Nick, you're misinterpreting what I said in the comments of your other video. My comment on your other video was not to excuse the unethical behavior of Mike and MZ. Mike made millions working on Wall St. Mike also made millions off of Metazoo, I believe. If I were Mike, I pay the dozens of players the small amount of money he owes, which may not be a huge sum to him, but it is massive to the loyal players who supported the company, learned the game, and were promised rewards for doing so. It's totally unethical and there is no excuse for them not to be paid. If MZ doesn't have the money, then Mike should inject it. What I actually was implying is while MZ may have made a lot of money early on, and subsequently built a business and infrastructure to match, their revenue dramatically decreased in 2022 and plummeted to a small fraction of what it was early on, in 2023, while operating costs remained the same. MZ is only selling a small fraction of what it did in that first year and margins, which were probably not huge to begin with, became even smaller with the declining volume. I believe they have been in the red for all of 2023; losing money. 2023 was a dud for Metazoo. Gala boxes, Native... none of their big releases had anywhere near the kind of volume that the first 4 core releases and peripheral products had during that period. All I was trying to say to you is that Metazoo is probably not as wealthy as people believe. I believe they're insolvent, hence why backlogged products haven't been shipped and players haven't been paid. Not giving excuses for the unethical behavior, just stating what I believe to be the situation.

Never liked that guy, even before MetaZoo, the fact MetaZoo made promos of him was a big turn off for me early on. Won’t say anything about him in the comments, but I have my opinions that continue to be reinforced.

So, I've been watching Rudy for years, long before Metazoo came to market. I watch his videos about all topics, including games/products I have no interest in. He definitely is capable of admitting when he is wrong and apologizing to viewers. But I agree that the way he phrased that about his relationship with MetaZoo was highly problematic. I'd like to hope that he did not mean to imply what he did imply, and maybe in the next few days he'll release a clarification (he's also been incredibly sick with the flu for a couple of weeks, and that definitely messes with your cognition). But if not, then it's a big red flag.

I don't play metazoo. I play flesh and blood and I was probably led to your channel by Rudys recent video. I think, since his depressing video, the aura of power that Rudy has has broken. Even if he was right about everything he said, it's how he said it and it has cost him personally. I like the guy, but I really feel that it is more than business. There is a personal aspect and he is beginning to flail like a drowning man.

MetaZoo sucked. Art sucked. I’ve been a floppy taco patreon for ~5 years. The whole MetaZoo thing came off to me like Rudy was friends with the MetaZoo guy. A “my friend made a really bad card game that his two year old did all the art for, pretty neat huh?” It was the only rationale I could come to. When Rudy said “people are buying up my inventory’” I took THAT as the lie.

My GF won a Metazoo contest back in 2021 and they never shipped her prize, then after months of asking banned her from the discord.

If you dont believe in it, think it’s dead then why are you still here, why are people making videos saying the same shit over and over. add a counterpoint to this conversation. I do believe the general theme of Rudys channel has always been cautious, diversified portfolios. I also believe that he truly does believe in the games he sells, and i dont think he maliciously tries to scam anybody. I also believe there could have been more information to his pateons and subscribers who are less informed investors, and i do also believe that he may not fully understand the thought processes and fomo that can easily draw uninformed people to invest heavily in products that do not have a gaurantee of return. I believe that many of us who have been in markets and love and breathe investing get trapped in a bubble of knowledge and dont take into account that the majority of people do not have the same experience and knowledge. TLDR: i dont believe Rudy has ever intentionally scammed anyone, however i think he sold and promoted products in a way that encouraged less informed people to buy into fomo and make decisions without proper context and history.

i think you are being pretty unfair to Rudy without watching all of the many videos where he says "i dont know if metazoo is gonna turn out good or go to nothing; here's my opinion, make your own decisions" or the videos where he directly talks about WHY he sells metazoo to his patrons: its to make money for himself. He is completely honest that him selling things and pumping them is for HIS sake so HE can make money. If you like his prices and want to buy trading cards, you can enter into a business relationship with him that should help both of you but hes totally honest about his MAIN goal being profit for himself. you don't have to wonder about whether or not he thinks hes selling ppl good investments. He explicitly does not care about whether or not things will turn out to be a good investment. You can buy from him and help him make money for himself or ignore him. I think it is a breath of fresh air that someone like Rudy breaks the illusion of just being a selfless business man helping the common ppl and admits that he is motivated by profit. -from someone who used to pay for Rudy's patreon until I stopped being as interested in tcgs

I dont disagree with your take here at all, especially about taking accountability for being wrong. However, as a fan of Rudy's I bought zero MetaZoo product. I never believed in it in any capacity. Sometimes you also have to be smart and make your own judgement calls. I cant pin that on Rudy.

He is always talking about poor LGSes getting crushed by Amazon and such and at the same time he is selling 1000sands of booster boxes way under the price of those LGS-es to patrions so he is doing the same but obviously he can not win vs WOTC and then turn around being a nice guy and LGS hero and then turns around and sell product under the price the same week :) He is just a modern MLM 2.0

I think I started watching Nick strength and Power back in 2016. When you did the Scott Steiner interview.

I just want to say, it was disappointing. However, I also want to say that I have never watch a video of Rudy saying to invest in Metazoo (especially in the past 1 year). While yes, he is very affiliated with the company - it is completely different than when he hoards Pokemon (and Magic) and then says, he believe in the next 3-5 years, they will go up. That is him actively saying its a collectible investment. Not for over a year has Rudy made such content and I'd like to see if others can point me to the direction. If you take Rudy as an LGS with a successful youtube channel, would you have said an LGS has been telling you to invest in a certain product, I don't think that is the case. People who buy the Rudy promos are just fans of his account - they are usually the cheapest but because when you have a following, you can sell "extras" and those ancillary products has some perceived value. He has openly stated that he is a business and is in the business to make money.

Rudy patron for years now, not defending but kind of explaining. Rudy sells all kinds of products as a service not as an investment tool, although I would say most patrons look at the products as investments which is up to them, they pay the sub every month. He sells Force of Will (FoW) products, basically dead card game, but patrons still buy it because they either like the product or keep it just in case it goes up. Specifically when it comes to investing, Rudy makes slight suggestions and features his own investments in other videos. In those videos he only buys Magic, Pokemon, Weiss Schwarz, and Flesh and Blood. To my knowledge he's never purchased Metazoo (just like FoW) in the open market and I'm pretty sure after Wilderness he's been hinting at deep rooted problems such as management and print-run. This is also coming from someone with not super heavy bags but some product laying around that has lost around 90% of value, I'm breaking even in the long run, but I started selling out after going to the DFW Collect-a-Con and seeing the very poorly ran Caster's Cup (2022) that they ran.

I feel sorry for people who find out about Rudy this late. I was watching his content for a long time ago when he was a very small channel. Especially rudy who had the most love from metazoo. This is part of learning on what's going on there. Rudy is a business man first. And they messed up everyone's business and and everyone is trying to figure out as well as us. WHERE DOES METAZOO STAND. with the players/customers with the lgs or for themselves sit back and watch by the end of this year we should all have a final answer for ourselves my metazoos actions moving forward. The best way to treat Rudy's channel is as cardboard-themed entertainment. Definitely don't go for him for investment advice! One moment he'll be singing the praises of a particular TCG, and the next he'll say it's worthless and nobody should buy it. Take it all with a grain of salt!

Taking accountability and admitting fault is one of the most important things people and companies in our current times avoid. It's the era of "fake it till you make it", "sweep it under the rug" and "wait 3 week and people will forget" mentality. Thank you for your honesty and directness - we need more of this out there! I like the game but it die cause metazoo can't tell how many real fans they have if half of the buyers were scalping and then small part was FOMO and there was a lot of that then maybe just maybe 40% was real customer but they might of over bought and once the hype die die. THEN THE REAL PLAYER SLOW DOWN and then added metazoo projecting more buyers like UFO and that's when the crack settle the scalper couldn't out buy the product and then they started underselling it cause there way to much right then and there everyone knew this was to hype

By no means do I think he is a completely honest guy, but he was a guy who was obviously affiliated with the game. I can’t remember him stating directly that anyone should be investing in it, but of course he was selling and pushing it. If people will buy into an item based on one guy, who is obviously affiliated, talking positively about a game which was doing well at the time, and then it starts to spiral, I don’t think it’s right to put so much negativity on just that one guy. Yeah he probably shouldn’t have said exactly what he said in that video but it’s not like he forced anyone to buy it, especially when he was always fairly honest about the state of the market involving it.

I only found out about Metazoo because of Rudy. However, I never considered a TCG an investable vehicle. One big point, Rudy doesn't play any of the games he promotes. It's all investments.

The person that listen and believs in all these TCG investments dont know what its all about. There is no more new reserved lists etc and cards can be reprinted by these companies to oblivion. For me its been the mechanics of the games and love of the Arts. Wait until AI goes 100% into this market, then things will be interesting. Rudy is rich, people do not have an understanding of how much money he has. He can afford to invest and make 500K mistakes, hes not just a whale in MTG or something, he made most of his money from regular markets. He realized a while back, he could start his patreon and make some $ off some of his followers, and I believe ORIGINALLY he was helping and wanted to help people. As he grew, he realized he could take more $ with his videos and suggestions with his patreon, giving them "Deals". MZ is just the last stop, along with his grading company. Hes not for the people, no one is, they look out for themselves first.

I always liked the premise of mz; I still like and will buy mz. I enjoy the art, the gameplay, and the theme, and im gonna try to get some friends to draft it. Even if it dies, I'll get what i can find and try to set up drafts with friends. It's fun!

His market analysis has been shocking for a while now. He needs to admit his screw ups like a man. Sadly he seems so delusional nowadays that I doubt that'll happen. It's a shame because his older videos were solid. I just feel bad for anyone who lost money on this stuff. I don't buy into this "fools deserve to lose their money" narrative that some people use. Times are hard and people are desperate to make extra money. They shouldn't be berated for getting it wrong. The financial loss is punishment enough.

You are wrong this is not what he said. What he did say is that he never recommended metazoo as an investment just like pokemon or mtg are not recommending to buy their products as investments. And then he can be selling bundles that does not mean he is recommending these as an investment I think this is dishonest to present this like what you are doing and I am not particularly a fan of him. He clearly says that he did not think he ever recommended metazoo as an investment directly which is very different from selling bundles because people enjoy buying booster boxes to open

Rudy's just a vehicle, they probably relied to him too soon kind of thing. However it's a give and take with the game stores, but if you don't have an LGS or a great relationship I understand why someone would use Rudy. At least he didn't sell the magic 30. He is a whole seller, Rudy sells sealed he really doesn't know what will do well he just kind of buys it all. I think he is more public about gains (cough chilling rain) but alot more quite when it comes to losses. You gotta remember he sold force of will too and he his is just comparing them. FnB is a better example they did a few promos with him and probably won't anymore the difference tho Metazoo needs. Rudy FnB don't, but that's where if they focused on better things like meeting deadline and LGS support like FnB they might not have needed Rudy anymore too.

I bought 1 bb of nightfall and 2 hello kitty bbs for fun after hearing ab it on his channel and then he says this crap😂 I have over a hundred grand in high end vintage Pokémon cards and way more in other actual INVESTMENTS (bitcoin, SMP ext) but other younger kids/young adults that aren’t as knowledgeable bought into MetaZoo thinking it was an “investment” and then he made that video?? Ive been on the magic side of things, and ive been through the rollercoaster on Rudy. I dont know if id go so far as to call him a leech or grifter, i think he genuinely likes this stuff, but hes a business man. A used car salesman. Hes got a bottom line and part of that is the cult of personality and never admitting fault unless hes got something to gain from it. And Nick, women figured this out a long as time ago, solo date nights are the best. Do wonders for your mental health. Treat yourself. I use to do "spa days" epsom salt baths, cold plunge, nice dinner. Does wonders for recovery.

People are too gullible. Everything Rudy does is to generate more money for himself. He does not care one inkling about any of his patrons or people watching him. There is nothing wrong with that. Most people that have accumulated as much money as he has are normally not very kind people and will obviously lie if it benefits them. They have to be ruthless to get where they are at. So I have no clue why people are surprised by this. I'm more disappointed that he did not push to have metazoo issues fixed early on which may have saved the game and made him more profits.
