Fairmont, NC's town center is large! It's also nicely laid out. Timothy, in a lot of small towns everywhere, a majority of the vacant buildings that you see are either bank owned now due to foreclosure or city/town/county owned due to the applicable government entity taking possession of said property in response to a building owner's inability to pay relevant property taxes. Since a lot of small towns are currently operating with severe budgetary constraints, the buildings are allowed to sit vacant on purpose.
Interesting. You would think they would try and sell them at a discount to people willing to invest. But there is probably a down side to something like that which I am not aware of. Thanks for sharing
@kennethstuckey7823 Hopefully its citizens will shop local when they can and slowly bring businesses back one at a time. With all the new people moving to NC, some might even find some good home prices there with property not far from the beaches.
The multiple colored building was once the post office and now being converted to the library that sits across the street... the heritage building is where meetings and gatherings are held
Clean town! Still showing very nice and most stores still look open. I wished more people would do things the old fashioned way. And yeah I still do. I believe it's the over 50 people that still prefer the older way of doing business. Keep up the good work 😅
This is one town I dont like. The folks here were very rude and gave the silent treatment when I visited there. This is the only video i just cannot finish. 😢
