Within seven days is the most reliable time to start paying attention to tropical systems on the models because that's how far the NHC's tropical weather outlooks go, and beyond seven days past the NHC's forecasting time is when the models are generally unreliable.
Fort Myers, Florida. Isn't that the place that some times disapearres under sea surge? Why worry, if you are now experienced? I mean it will hardly be much worse and yet you have had so much time to prepare. Sorry but could not come up with anything better to say after seeing the long full video of the storm surge top the road sign. I could suggest a wet suit and flippers. A fast car out of there or putting your house on the market and exchanging it for a mini sub. But being informed is a good method of preparation which can allow you a better insight on what to do. So keep checking.
At 3:26 the storms appear to follow the east coast perfectly from north to south. Is this a glitch in your weather software? How can rain hug the coast perfectly like that?
