I have been to Philadelphia and tried all the top philly places. But I was in wichita ks recently and stopped at a place called Spangles..... sourdough philly cheese steak was the best philly CS I have ever had hands down
Throw the roll open side down on the meat and cheese for a bit before scooping everything up into it. It will steam the bun and give more flavor to the bread.
hey I go cheap, I use shaved beef steak in a skillet with salt and pepper then deglaze the skillet with some melted garlic butter until it turns to brown garlic butter that then becomes my sauce
My favorite cheesesteak: Thin sliced ribeye, onion, pepper, mushroom, provolone cheese served on a baguette. The cream cheese will make an appearance in the future. That looked amazing.
No white American!? Shoulda had that one in the mix. Gouda / cream cheese sounds ridiculous though, gonna have to give that a shot. Also, get those peppers outta there! They overpower the taste!
You would think a guy would visit Philly / South Jersey and try the best before wasting all that good steak on these bad versions. You're better off getting a French baguette than using that bread
@@campchef Green Peppers? No Cooper Sharp? No Long Hots? Other fabrications of a Philly Cheesesteak are just pure disrespect to an actual Philly Cheesesteak. Just call it what it really is...A Steak and Cheese sandwich, not a Philly.
I make about 100 philly cheese steaks a week at my wonderful Benny Blanco's Pizza in Denver Colorado. Come on down and I'll make you a great one! 🥖🧀🥩🫑🧅🍄🧄
No complaints here! 🤤🥖🥩🧀 wish I could sample some of yours! ..our recipe is grilled sautéed onion, mushroom, green pepper & minced garlic, thin sliced ribeye, THEN after cheese melts, we toast in the pizza oven for a thin crisp layer of top cheese and still tender meat n cheese center.
