I just want to repeat what others have already said: I absolutely love those zines. I love how they push me to do more creative work even though I am a crappy artist.

Dang, this is really impressive to see all this together like this!!

A one-shot postcard and sticker makes an order feel way more special (and is way more practical and is way more useful) than fancy packaging the way Apple does it.

I have the pdf of these zines. Even so, I find these showcase videos valuable. Your enthusiasm for the content comes through and makes them shine all the more. Cowabunga!

You've been and continue to be a big inspiration to me JP. I've started my own tabletop/fiction project because of you, and I ran Soggy Ruins of Sentinel Keep for my wife using a home-brewed Cairn. We both had a blast. Love your energy and creativity. Thank you!

Great video. And an impressive body of work! The Soggy Ruins of Sentinel Keep is a lot of fun. I've ran it twice, and it ended drastically different both times. Good fun!

Hullo! I just ran your Into the Icebound Caves Oneshot for my nieces and nephew (Ages 8-14 and a 22 year old!) last night. It was a hit! It's just my 2nd time DM-ing but the oneshot was so easy to use and improvise with. It also helped that I modified the DND rules into it's simplest form so that most of the first timers were able to just focus on the story and learning the mechanics. Thank you for making these! I'm excited to run more of your stories and oneshots in the future with more friends and family. Planning to pick up your Exploring Dungeons zine as a pdf soon c:

Would you ever add to these collections and make them into books? Or do you think the zine format is superior in some way for what you do?

I absolutely love the compact adventure zines! I'm sure you get asked all the time, but what art program/tablet do you use or recommend to an absolute newbie?
@JPCoovert
@JPCoovert Месяц назад
Thank you! I use Photoshop and a Wacom Cintiq Pro 16 for drawing. Would definitely NOT recommend those for beginners though. If I were starting out right now I would probably use an iPad and Procreate to do all my digital drawing!

Just found your channel, buddy Were you ZX SPECTRUM fan?? What software elements did you use to create these??!
@JPCoovert
@JPCoovert Месяц назад
Didn't get a family computer until middle school. Was a 100% Nintendo kid. I use Adobe Photoshop and InDesign to draw and layout all the zines. There are cheaper/free options but I've been using Adobe professionally for so long I feel locked in.

It's a pity, that it is not possible to buy your books/zines as pdf.

You can get ALL of them as PDFs by signing up for the patreon.

@@JPCoovert But that would mean, that I can "buy" ALL your PDFs until now for a single monthly subscription of 6$. I feel bad about this... 🤷‍♂

Is there a specific reason why you make one of those in a month?
@MrBrandon
@MrBrandon Месяц назад
Because he can. Because his head is full of ideas and he likes to share that with people instead of hoarding it. Because it keeps him sharp at his craft. Because he believes in himself instead of giving up on his dreams like so many people do. It also helps him make money.
