This is a re-upload (due to some upload issues) - and is a NEW and IMPROVED cut! I hope you enjoye this extra-polished version, please LIKE and COMMENT so RU-vid doesn't kill this again!
So its worth noting, When GoT shot the scenes on the wall, they did alot of it in part using an old Stone Quarry because it had a roughly 400ft sheer cliffside. They had GRRM on set and when he looked over the edge and found out how far down it was, he's gone on record as saying 'yeah, I made the wall to big'.
I don’t know why but I find your Little Hangleton cemetery much spookier than the movie version. There’s something super creepy about trees and forests, I think it’s a claustrophobic thing. The one in the movie looks like a frozen desert.
It reminded me of a movie that made me too scared to sleep. They were surrounded by trees a lot. I'm pretty sure the only time they weren't was a circus? I forgot most of it, there probably isn't a circus, maybe I'm mixing in some other scene from some other movie.
I've thought about this having both loved and been terrified of the forest. I think it's part of the "fear of the unknown" because there could be something you can't see behind every single tree.
Forests are a liminal spaces. It's [scary] because you can get completely lost with no idea where you are or where you're going and no way to know if you'll ever get out with everything being relatively the same at every turn.
So, there's a behind the scenes thing with the director of the 4th Harry Potter movie in which he says he didn't read the whole book and skipped a few parts so that's probably why you got so indignant there was no overgrown lol
I'm pretty sure the director didn't even like Goblet of Fire. They even had an idea to burn down the Dark Forest in the dragon scene which was so far fetched. It's the reason why the Goblet of Fire just dropped down in quality compared to the other movies
Yeah that movie was... It was actually bad. The others are all good but I genuinely dislike that one. Like if I re-watch the series I'll skip goblet, despite the book probably being one of my faves.
I love the concept and it's wonderful to see how you bring these to life. One small nitpick, though - I don't think the doors on the hobbit houses would be quite so massive. In my mind, they would likely be sized to the proportions of the inhabitants, much as ours are - not gigantic doors with knobs above head height... or maybe it's just that the figures you used were too small for the scene... Nah - the doors seem far too large for the proportions of the structures themselves.
You have to remember, the hobbit holes with actually furnishing and doors and such were the equivalent of Mansions. Remember, only the poor and the rich still lived in Hobbit Holes, and Bilbo was basically a Hobbit Lord.
@@stephenlong9806 I still don't think that even a hobbit Lord would put the door knobs above head height, do you? It makes no sense from either a construction point or a comfort point - and hobbits, especially well-to-do hobbits such as Bilbo, were all about comfort and security. The doors are described as perfectly round with a knob in the exact center. No where does it say the doors are proportioned to fill the entire front of the hobbit hole. Check out the scene of Bilbo meeting Gandalf in the movie. You can see that the doors are much more proportional to the height of the hobbit, not something where he would have to stretch up in order to reach the doorknob.
I can’t believe you crammed so much work into a 15 minute video!!! These scenes were amazing. Each one could have been it’s own video. ❤ Edit: I fixed the typo guys. Don’t worry 😅 Also please check my comment down below. Thanks.
I know it’s not as grand as the other Harry Potter stuff people would suggest, but I’d actually love to see what you would do with creating a miniature version of the burrow tbh since I feel like it gives off a different feel to it and the house itself feels very homemade
I have an idea. For the "designing characters exactly as described.." videos he does, how about criptids? There are so many more than big foot out there, and his interpretation of some of them I think would be amazing.
Having come off a long session of Tears of the Kingdom, I thought about how cool it would be to see how Jazza would interpret the leviathan skeletons in their former, living glory. Part of the fun is not having full skeletons visible in the game, and guessing what they may look like structurally.
For Little Hangleton graveyard, I’ve always taken “fine old house on the hill” to be the Riddle Manor. Old manors in these sort of small villages are often near the church in the UK, so if I was to do it myself only tweak would be to put a grander manor on the hill rather than what looks like a cottage.
Great looking stuff. My ONLY quibble were the hobbit doors - they were WAAAAY too big. Way big. Big. The doors should have been much smaller to accommodate hobbits. It didn't look like the hobbits would even reach the door knobs, lol! :) Other than that, excellent content as usual.
The re-upload almost feels like a completely new video on it's own with the new edits in comparison to the old edits! This was really enjoyable to come back to. :3
I just got an idea! Jazza has tried literally almost every art medium (and then some that he maybe shouldn’t have tried 😂) but one thing he has never tried to my knowledge is Latte art. It’s such a trendy thing and yet Jazza has never tried it 🤔
@@Allymickey he would Jazzaify it. In other words he would find a way to either make giant latte art or a different way of doing it that would make it more interesting then just a simple latte. He’s done seemingly simple things and made them way more interesting a ton of times in the past
I really like how you appreciated that the movie had to focus on the odd parts, while your diorama is more showing all aspects of Hobbiton. Those near broken doors in the poor quarter e.g.
I loved this so much!!! I couldn't even pick a favorite world because they were all so good. My favorite part has to be the fun accents and bits of you reading the book descriptions. Wow Jazza ... you are a talented performer!
10:30 Jazza: Um... God that is goin to be big... Welp either we commit to doing it fully and cut a hole in the roof to make room, or we just do the top of the wall.
Jazza should do something like this where any specifically recognizable things from a franchise are cut from the description, so that he has to make it without instinctively thinking about previous renditions. Say, cut the word hobbit, and have him do it. How would it come out?
This is so GOOD, Jazza!! 🤩🥳.. I can picture little hobbits opening the doors and greeting each other, goodmorning.. Just living their little hobbit lives to the max!!.. Perfect world for a stopmotion film xD..
Okay, i didn't read the description before halfway in and i felt like i was going crazy, like "didn't i watch this some time ago? Nooooo, but... Yes?" *10 minutes in* "OOOOOH" Its still a great video! Haha!
Why does the Hobbit, from Hobbit Town, on the bridge, look like Badger from Beatrix Potter taking tolls, while also looking like Paddington Bear's long lost brother? 😄
When i read the song of ice and fire, i imagined the wall a little differently. The book says, that it was made from ice blocks, but covered with melted and re-frozen ice. Thus, i imagine it would be smoother, and that you could maybe see the outline of the bricks under the ice, which would be much more pale. Also, i would love to see the stairs carved in ice, smoothed and withered. I loved that part.
At first I thought I was going crazy. Then I just enjoyed the video all over again. Would love more of these. Especially if they are from Harry Potter. Or the Vale from Game of Thrones. I was never a fan of the show but I read part of the book and that seemed pretty scary.
I think you did a great job as always, I especially love the graveyard, I think you captured that vibe perfectly! 👏 And those wall dimensions lets cace it, are just ridiculous
Your're the best! Thank you for giving me this extraordinary little breaks in my own creative daily workout... May the goddess of creativity kiss you every day! 😄☀ Saludos from Mallorca/Spain
It feels really cool that jazzas content feels to me like it grew older alongside myself. Back then I really enjoyed the drawing and crafting videos but now they get way nerdier and he does alot of tabletop stuff now that im getting more and more into dnd and Warhammer. So I am oneca again back to watching jazza after a little pause. Great Concent keep it comin
For a moment, I had the dream of him saying: "3.5 meters? "Let's build that f*** in the storage hall that has a 4 meters high roof". Now I am split between the feeling how awesome the top turned out and a bit of disappointment that he did not build a 3.5m-diorama ;D
I NEED another one of these! How about a Rick Riordan special? Camp Half-Blood from Percy Jackson (with all the cabins and the Hearth!), The 41st Nome (Egyptian tomb meets Brooklyn penthouse!) from The Kane Chronicles, and Hotel Valhalla from Magnus Chase! (Think the Grand Budapest meets a Vining Longhouse!) I know you would have a BLAST with them!
I would love to see something from the Wheel of Time books adapted - maybe Tar Valon? Not sure if the Amazon adaption included it but it would be an incredible project.
Tar Valon is in the Amazon series. 👍 TBH any place in the Wheel of Time by book description would be great to see to compare to the live action depiction!
This is phenomenal !!! All that time and effort that you have put into these three pieces shows. I definitely feel like the video down plays all the hard work, but this was super entertaining!!
@Jazza, The one critique I have of the Shire is that there should be at least one hole that runs back into the hills for unimaginable lengths and branches off into a large number of rooms. Bag End in particular is described in how massive it is, and how far back into the hill it goes. As one of the richer homes in the Shire, it should really sprawl out. So, I appreciate the addition of the more traditional houses with round windows and doors, but... where are the expansive hills?
Absolutely epic performance my dude! I've always wanted to see how you interpret the different scenes from the books. Especially from The Lord of the Rings! Would love a similar project with regards to middle earth cities and arcitecture. Minas Tirith from the books is what immediately comes to mind. Love this content!
Thought I was going nuts until I actually read the description and pinned comment and discovered this was a re-upload. Glad my memory isn't playing tricks on me! I love how Hobbiton turned out.
Ahhhh, you see, Tabletop Time studio. The fourth wall has been broken. Why isn't Jazza in his studio? I know why, lol. All the good paints and terrain stuff are held captive by Dave.
I didn’t think I would enjoy this as much as the “drawing characters/creatures/monsters” stuff but you picked some of the atmospheric places that must have helped with the creation process.
I heard "church behind a yew tree" and immediately thought of A Monster Calls. It's described that the Monster (the old yew tree) sat besides a dormant church on a hillside.
Your night's watch wall actually gave me goosebumps. I've always wanted to see the Eyrie. And dragonstone, as it was describes in the books. The movies didn't do them justice either.
GRRM said that he wrote the size of the the wall in the books not fully understanding how ridiculously massive a 700 foot wall was. Until someone showed him when they were plotting out the show. GRRM was 100% in favor of massively cutting down the size of the wall to make it less ridiculous.
At the wall: besides the lift there are also wooden stairs. They play a huge role in a specific battle in the books. And you forgot the 2 trebuchets at the top.
Ok glad I came on mobile to read the description. I was like .. uhhh.... didn't we see this already? Lol just a reupload. I'll watch again since it's a better cut apparently
