I completely understand you, Blender is a tool that if you get good at it, you can create stunning things, it's easy to use but can get very overwhelming because of it's steep learning curve. I've been using Blender for about 4 years now and I'm still amazed by how much Blender can do, it truly is the god tool. Open source is legitimately the only reason I can do anything regarding game development and video editing lol. I'm as broke as they come and there ain't no way I've got 6,000$ lying around to get adobe's stupid photoshop/illustrator, maya, unreal engine, and Vegas pro. Awesome video and have a good one!
@@TheSpeedyBoi Last I checked, the Unreal Engine is available to download for free, you just need to have an account. Also, I don't recall Vegas Pro ever being priced THAT high. Like, no way does it cost $6,000, whereas, the "free" and open-source video editing programs that I find that do exists just seems so lackluster, or that they don't have what I'm looking for in regards to certain features, which is why I'm more than willing to shell out some amount of cash to buy the programs that are 'professional', and mind you, I say this as someone who BARELY scrapes by when it comes to money.

Great video dude! I've been using Blender for a while now for some mixed media stuff and I get whiplash when I swap from any Adobe software to Blender. Crazy how good a piece of software can be when the people behind it actually care.
The grease pencil object has modifiers for making outlines and noise and enveloping to add the outline. Don’t know if this is that useful or you already know but it could be useful (note only works in Blender so solidify modifier with inverted normals and material offset to a material with back face culling for game use)
Blender has a lot of shortcomings and frustrating aspects to its design. If you've ever tried making high-poly models and baking their details onto low-poly, game-ready assets you know how much of a pain that can be. Add-ons make it easier and less of a pain but the best ones are paid and cost a lot. I still love it though because it's free and ours to keep and has so much potential to improve. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who got spooked by Unity's self-destruction.

Buddy just to let you know there is a cheaper license that's the company license but there's a Maya indie license that goes for $200 yes it's still a little bit expensive but it's there if you want to figure it out but I still get it if you want to be on blender everyone has their own comfortable software it just matters that we all learn and keep on growing just And share our knowledge as a community of 3D Artists

The absolute bain of my existence with blender is uv-wrapping it takes so dang long- To be fair I wouldn't have to worry that much about crappy UV maps if I wasn't stubborn and just used a normal brush instead of trying to get a watercolor style
ngl as a former user of autodesk maya, jumping to blender was quite a wild ride like this one lol it took some getting used to but my god is it way simplier to use when all I wanted was to make a vrchat avatar on my old laptop haha and at the time, maya on my old laptop ran like a powerpoint slide show and it wasn't even rendering the full thing yet, I was just editing. And blender ran smooth like butter. I'm thankful to have given blender a chance and more importantly express my work with it.
2:30 switch from camera view to front view by clicking NUMPAD 1 or Auto Depth: Enable Auto Depth in Edit > Preferences > Navigation. This will allow Blender to keep zooming in beyond the default settings. or Zoom to Mouse Position: Enable “Zoom to Mouse Position” in Edit > Preferences > Navigation. This will zoom to whatever is under your mouse cursor instead of the screen’s center. Also you can go into system>preference to change your key-binds to zoom in bu holding control or whatever key on your tablet plus a button on your pen to zoom in and out or go side to side. Basically whatever you don't like in blender you can quite easily just change, it is more work then a pre-made preset but that isn't really possible for blender since everybody has a different use-case for it, Can't wait for another video Bye.

Wait till you learn about UV mapping, lightmapping and the absolute horror of Morphmaps that come with making customisable characters... Who doesn't love hitting their head on a brick wall for 800 hours to find out the UV mesh f+cks up due to a single Oversight... The beauty of Blender...

The fact that blender doesn't have a eyedrop shortcut after all these updates is just insane! (I know you can hover your mouse to color tab and then enter colorpicker shortcut but why should I even hover the mouse to that? Can't i just color pick with a single button in texture mode?
I also know almost nothing about Greece pencil Funny story, I've try making the doodle man, like I've draw a side and a front view of a humanoid and some in-between for the curvature of arms and torso.but when I try to rig it I couldn't get it to attach,prob did something wrong or idk ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. May try it again
