Multiplayer idea for this concept: One offensive team and one runner team. The runners must use a 'floor is lava' car and a ramp car witch they use to get some air and reset the timer. Meanwhile the offensive must try to keep the timer from reseting, maybe by shooting them, melee them or just by keeping them apart. You could make it so the ramp car has a sensor on the roof witch is triggered by the floor is lava car so it also resets it's own timer.

You can use a constant block and use a subtract block with the constant and the accumulator output, then compare with 0 instead. You can now use the constant block to drive the display too. Just using the output from the subtract block should be what you want to display.

@@ntbvt3635 The display should get the output from the constant - the current accumulator output. So if SM wants it to be 10 seconds, he sets the constant block to 10, then uses an arithmetic block to send the display the constant (10) - accumulator value (whatever it is). This means at reset, accumulator is 0, so 10 - 0 = 10, he has 10 seconds left. After 9.5 seconds, for example, it would display 10 - 9.5 = 0.5 seconds left. You are basically just subtracting the current "time" on the accumulator from the 10 you want it blow up to show the difference, ie the time you have left before it goes boom.

I recently made a "Kart Racing" vehicle. Using a sideways speed sensor you can detect drifting, store up boost in an accumulator and give a miniboost after the drift. Gyro steering can be used as a "drift button". You can use a distance sensor facing upward to activate weapons when driving under an "item gate" (a low tunnel)

Multiplayer applications: Ditch the explosives, and instead you can find another way to disable a vehicle. (detachable blocks disconnect wheels, logic disables engines, etc...). Doing this, you can avoid the "mutually assured destruction" problem. "Floor is Lava" on it's own, is sort of everyone doing their own thing like you said in the video, but with a non-explosive elimination, you could do a "floor is lava" / race scenario through the desert, or some of the races that lend themselves to getting air. That would keep everyone more or less together & interacting, while still getting to experiment with this sort of mechanic

Now make REAL floor is lava where lava is raising. You can make it using altitude sensor and some logic, and make it so after some time lava altitude raises and if you go below it you will explode. If you will play this with friends, you can choose custom map with mountain and increase lava speed every round

You cannot read altitude as analog number The stuff that ScrapMan is doing with accumulators were possible even before the update, you just used memories and timers It is just much easier now Whole logic update is undercooked imho But at least you can make neural networks now!

Multiplayer application for this: Distance sensors in the horizontal plane, do a race but you have to hit your opponent with the front of your vehicle to reset your timer, but your opponent has to do the same. Avoid getting hit from his front and hit him with yours. Timed destruction derby

You could do a multiplayer race on a track that has jumps. The win conditions are, to be the first to cross the finish line. If you blow up, you lose time and others get ahead of you. Like this, you can lose the race by landing too hard or failing to jump. To make it harder, you can have a limited number of resets. If you use up your lives, you're out.

Things like box dispensers or snowball dispensers would work perfectly! Also having each round have the timer get shorter and shorter (obviously). A very similar rule set to the Speed Battle.

I know a way to make the countdown. Make a logic block output a value equal to the amount of time you have (30 seconds is what you settled on). Subtract that value by the amount of time that has passed (you already have a logic block telling you that). What you should get is a functioning countdown (example, 10 seconds have passed out of 30 seconds, you subtract 10 from 30, and you end up getting 20, the amount of time left). Note, this means that whenever you want to change the time value, you have to change the 30 to whatever value you choose.

A countdown is actually easy: just subtract 10 from our current time, so when the time is 0 you get -10 and when the time is 1 you get -9, … . Then multiply it with -1 and you get a countdown from 10 to 0!

Couple ideas for multiplayer 1: Each player has to survive as long as possible in the exploding car while the others sabotage him with regular vehicles. 2: A race around a track or to complete an objective while having the added difficulty of the exploding car. Could possibly allow resets with a penalty.

Scrapman to have the countdown and everything functional you just need: 1 sensor, a NOR gate, 1 accumulator, 1 display and 2 math blocks. The first part of the circuit is the same as the one you made with the sensor that gives input to both the accumulator and the NOR and the NOR that gives to a math block with multiplication and -1000, the block then gives to the accumulator. The difference is that you set the accumulator with the max to 0.01 and the minimum to -X (where x stands for the time you want before exploding). Finally the accumulator gives input to a math block set to 0 and subtract, the latter gives to the display block and you will have the countdown. The only variable you need to change is the X for the time.

Multiplayer Idea for this gimmick: Everyone has a single smart cannon, and 6 engines. Engines have to be exposed. Play in the Airborne sand dunes. Do your best to jump over dunes while shooting your opponents to destroy their engines. As you lose engines, getting air off the dunes will become more difficult.

Since the latest update, power cores will explode when they are destroyed. So the engine strat doesnt work. For another varient of like loosing wheels or using emp: The smart cannon always targets the middle of the car, so never the wheels and freestyling those shots would be really hard. Emp would just let the dynamite explode. So good idea, but really hard to make it work

People don't seem to realise that the engines exploding is kinda a major part of the challenge. Depending on the build, a vehicle can still survive an engine exploding. I'm imagining different options. One person might build a brick with engines spread evenly around the perimeter. Another person might put all their engines together, but in the middle, only exposed on the top. Maybe all the engines could be on the front, with the intention of driving away from everyone.

You can use the arithmetic block and set the constant to the time to explode and with the subtraction function, subtract the input from your accumulator, therefore creating a countdown system. This may or may not be true since I *never played* Trailmakers

Perhaps(kis) don't do a hard reset on jumps but rather a cooldown. Faster than the heatup but not instantaneously to 0. Something like +1/second on the ground and -2/second in the air. And since hinges have been proven very resistant to damage, perhaps they also block damage propagation, so that you can hang a dynamite bundle inside a cabin and have it safer from impact? You'd have to make sure that the bundle cannot swing into other objects, of course...

This vehicle had a few issues indeed. Things I would change: Fix the suspension (big suspension maybe?), shorter hood, and make it lighter. Instead of adding weight, I would move the boosters closer to the middle.

Whilst you do require the new logic to make a count up/count down display, you don't need it for the core dynamite system. All you would need is an inverted sensor (pointing down to detect the ground) and dynamite with a delay of however many seconds you want it to have.

Detachable blocks for the wheels, so when you reach the timer you loose your wheels. Can add more detachable blocks to other important partas like engines or so. Great video as always.

Hey scrap what about for a better way to incorporate it into M.P.M. if you just replace the Dynamite with a detachable block. The block is the ONE connection point to the seat and after X (time) it detaches and turns your car into scrap. This allows for sabotage whilst trying to still maintain your time. A cool challenge since you need to balance strength and protect the detach block but have speed and maneuverability.

For countdown there are 2 ways to do this. The easiest way would be to add an arithmetic block that subtracts the accumulator from 10. But you would need another block with the time for that. The other way to do it would be to invert you logic, so rather than the accumulator counting up to a specific number, is counting down from a specific number and the dynamite explodes when it is less than or equal to zero.

I have an idea, a dogfight or just some sort of PVP with blasters or whatever, but if you get too cocky and decide to hold fire for a certain amount of time, you explode. Like an overheat system. Great video btw!

That would delay the explosion, it would not prevent the activation of it. He wants to send a signal AFTER a delay. Not instantly send a signal that's already locked in before the delay.

@@Hadeks_Marow In trailmakers when a block has a delay, if the input is deactivated before the delay is up it cancels the input, essentially turning off has no delay but turning on does. Only reason I know this is because I tried to use a delay without realising this, so it just didn't activate.

To solve the "they blow up right next to you" issue with multiplayer, have the timer reaching 0 not only turn off all their engines, but start a 10 second timer that blows the dynamite. This would not only give the attacker time to get away, but a teammate could come in and possibly push the derelict car off a ramp, resetting everything.

saw this and made a copy of the circuit with indicator lights like you wanted. It has multiple lights instead of just one though, and the easiest way to do it was to have individual comparison gates per light, set to their own activation times, so if you want to adjust the timing, you have to change the accumulator, and all 5 comparison gates to accomodate for it

Multiplayer idea: instead of dynamite, connect the seat to the rest of the creation via detachable blocks. Set them to scrap upon disconnect. Now you aren't so volatile and can battle. Last creation standing wins!

Idea using this specific setup, just without the TNT. Instead of activating TNT, you can set it to disable the engines. Have a race, and if you don't catch air, your engines just shut off until you repair. Bonus to not having TNT with that is that hard landings won't set off TNT.

Multiplayer idea for this concept: bomb tag. if you are it you manually start your timer. once your timer runs out boom, and out for the round. tagging someone reset timer. now idk what to do about acidental explosion from tagging but the concept is there. To make things more even you could have 1 car that everyone uses, but if you want chaos play on the test map with one fast tagger car that has to be spawned in by the play that is it giving the other players 5 sec to create space. The Catch is everyone else has a very limited speed cars they can make . Hope this is enought to go off of

With a crash detector (distance sensor behind the bumper) you could force aggression in a demolition derby, so when you don't attack in time, you explode.

I think you could do the new long race with this settup. But you have jumping cars that stall the engines for a moment after jumping. That way you cant just bouncyball your way through the course. [Maeby ask Kan if he can help you with the base logic] Probably the best would be to use gimblejets. But... the shortburst jet engines angled down and slightly forward could work well for the spirit of the challenge in mind. With the complexity of the vehicle in mind, I would also recomend that all of you use the same vehicle, painted diferently.

The multiplayer application for this would obviously be a rallycross race. Find a track that actually gives you consistent airtime, then run races with subsequently less and less "lava resistance" such that the drivers have to go faster to hit the jumps in time in order to stay alive.

I have two ideas, one of which is to use 1 dynamite on a suspension so it takes less dammage. And the other being connecting the circuit to a cannon. So lets say 3 seconds after you jump the cannon shoots at others.

Multi player idea: just attach a gun and protect the dynamite a little bit. Just a normal battle but you also need to worry about getting air, and as you change weapons also decrease the time you have between jumps.

Scrapman, you can use the logic blocks to do a gta minigame style. There are two teams, one team protects the truck, one member of that team drives the truck (which explodes if it's stopped), the other team has to try to stop the truck while the other team protects it. The objective of the truck is to reach the end of the course. I don't remember the name of the minigame, but it could be a fun experience to bring to Trailmakers

For Multiplayer, maybe do an Olympic style challenge in which you have to build a vehicle that can land smoothly with dynamite, and then take turns to jump each ramp and go increasing in difficulty.

Multiplayer aspect: Don’t use dynamite. Have it set to disconnect all the vehicle wheels instead so the cars will fall apart. It’s less cool than explosions, but it doesn’t have accidental entire destruction from landing hard or crashing into another player.

Here's a question that could spawn an interesting challenge... What happens if you EMP an accumulator? Does it empty? Does it fill? Does it go to a random value? How can this be used to cause destruction, imagine if each vehicle had one dynamite set in the middle of say... A chain, a trailer hinger connection, and accumulators are set all across the vehicle, being brought down to zero by a sensor of some sort, if the EMP raises the accumulators beyond a threshold, collectively, it activates the logic gate, and sets off the dynamite, you have lost your cargo, and probably a good chunk of your rear end. How protected is the dynamite? That's for everyone to build. After all, there are no emp proof blocks, right?

Maybe you could also do it with an Altitude sensor and an Accumulator counting up slowly and as soon as your altitude gets below the number of the accumulator you explode (or just something with detachable blocks so you dont explode by ramming?) Basically the challenge is to climb a mountain in time and ramm others off without falling of. Being the last one to explode/die

Instead of a "floor is lava" multiplayer challenge, you might be able to change it into something like a "hot potato tag" competition where the person with the explosive timer has to tag someone else to get rid of the timer. You might have to add more logic or just make it so that whoever gets tagged has to start their timer

Two fixes: 1) The problem with the suspension is that the wedges on the wheels collide with the ground 2) For a countdown, do: T - accumulator Where T is the time to explode, so it would be: ACC -> (T - ACC) -> display And you can also output a NOT gate from the subtraction to the dynamites, so you don't use a comparator Edit: third fix: For the color light, you have to input a value between 0 and 1. I can't test it myself because I don't have Trailmakers, but I would say it's 0 for red and 0.67 for blue, so you need to do some maths to get the job done for each time, but it should be: ((T - ACC) * 2)/3T I might be wrong on this one

@Scrapman, for a countdown, start your accumulator high, and reduce it, and then use a Not block to trigger the dynamite. As for the dynamite taking damage, maybe put suspension on the roof rack?

To avoid the dynamite taking damage, you could always just replace the dynamite by something else (e.g. fireworks) as a loss-indicator. And for multiplayer, maybe an optional time boost every 3 jumps or so would be nice. You could either count the jumps with logic or simpler yet just have it be that if the lava time is 15s, then you get the option to reduce your lava timer by 5-10s every 45s or so. That would potentially give a little more startegy options for multiplayer.

Multiplayer idea : use this system on planes. You can only shoot while in the air but your engines stop after a few seconds so you need to constantly land your plane while getting shot.

Instead of using dynamite, maybe you could use smoke canon to indicate to the player they need to stop for a limited time and use it in a race with your friends in multiplayer And make sure the race has jumps on the course, if it’s not got any jumps make a few ramps and put them on the course with an anchor block to keep them in place

Doesn't the accumulator trickle down over time ? You could use it as a count down ? If it doesn't, you can also just reverse the thing. When you're on the floor it goes down. When you're in the air it goes to max rather than zero. And then use it as a count down

Multiplayer idea: You could do some kind of arena on the football arena and add some artificial ramps, so you could potentially create a kinda spleef where there's a designated number on ramps that will eventually be dostroyed. Then, the last one standing gets a point

For good suspension you have to increase the distance of travel for the wheels, but that will also make it easier to roll. In my testing with suspension, you can do three of the angled suspension connected to the body of the vehicle, with 2 attached on top and 1 attached below, to make like a Y, U, or V shape, connected by pipes and then you can also add some of the linear suspension just separated by like a pipe piece. But if you have the suspension in a straight line trailmakers physics can be weird and make the wheel flop a bit when under too much load. Otherwise, just play around with the damping and stiffness to find the best ride height and compression. There are other types of suspension such as trailing arm which is typical for the rear of a trophy truck, but that can be hard to make

You should do this with hover pads for a multi-player monday thing. Firstly you guys don't use them very much, and secondly it kind of its the theme a little better. The hover pads a shields against the lava's heat that need a couple seconds to recharge during a jump! As for a proper suggestion how to make it work as a fun multiplier challenge. Why not just use weapons? Knocking out hover pads and thrusters will make it harder to jump, and a well placed shot against some dynamite will also end the round for someone. My only suggest would be doing something like your bomber plane, where you have a weapon that only recharges off of a very large jump making you have to think about where to refuel.

I know I'm three days late to this comment party, but this concept plus tron battle, but instead of detecting the ground, it's proximity to others. To simplify the concept here, the idea is Tron battles, but with proximity and speed detection so that you have to stay within range of others or obstacles and stay above a predetermined speed, unless you wish to explode. Yeah that about sums it up.

You could use it for a check point race with each one further away then the next, fail to reach and you blow. Add that the explosive can damage and blow if you drive bad it should make for a fun race all over the map.

Something worth knowing is with an accumulator you can set the max to 0 and the minimum to say 10 and it will start with 10 so you can count down with negative inputs Great for countdowns and easy ajusting max times

Really simple timer would be 20 or gates with coded numbers on a display (9 lights each digit, to 100. I can imagine you could make a line of lights that fills up depending on the timer, but id have to mess with new logic to be sure

Anyway, scrap man I’m gonna give you a little tip about the damage physics, knowing there’s new damage physics it transfers through the entire vehicles not only the part that just hit something but stuff around it, depending on the force of the damage that was happening to your dynamite that’s why you were exploding

Make it a race instead of a battle - try to get from point A to point B as fast as possible without exploding, picking a race that has rough terrain with lots of chances for air. Since it's usually faster to *not* catch air, this means you're encouraged to try and get close to the line.
