the cat and bumblebee following you 🥹 lol your energy is attracting the animals, ur a real life princess ☺️ congrats on the dresses and great editing !! not winnie getting SMACKED by pinky ☠️
haha Winnie is constantly plaguing Pinki, so I would say it was well deserved! 😂Thank you so much for your comment!❤️ I am going to check out all your videos later tonight! I see you're making some splendid stuff on your channel 😍 I hope other comment readers will check it out too! ❤️❤️❤️
I think you may be a Disney princess. Lovely clothes, fabulous hair, and surrounded by animals and the odd insect. Thanks for the latest peek into your world, I look forward to next time. ☘️
Oh! Thank you so much for your sweet comment!❤️ there is no higher compliment than being called a Disney princess. My life's goal is accomplished, I may rest in peace now😂❤️❤️❤️
You could never look like a potato🥔 You are silly-sweet my dear, and I love it all.🤩 Those dresses all look super on you. You can wear any color with your curly red locks😍 I miss sewing but I have photos of me having fun sewing quilts. It is great to watch you and Winnie and Pinkie, and peek at Norway....You have a fun channel for this old lady to watch. 🧐🤩
Nana Coleen is my absolute favourite commenter.❤️ You have been with me from the very first video and I love to see the picture of your dear pup come up in my comment section❤️ I wish you the best and I am sending a big hug to both of you❤️❤️❤️
If you’re a knitter a shawl would be lovely with the yellow dress and give you a way to stay warmer without having to shove the sleeves into other sleeves.
How I enjoy your video's! You make sewing fun and your ability to make your own patterns to fit your own shape is amazing. All the dresss are cute but I like the material and design of the third one best. 🥰 susan
I love both these dresses, they came out even more beautiful than the yellow one! Winnie is like a tiny bear running around in your beautiful garden and he's so cute 🥰🥰😍😍
Aww! So nice to see a comment from you, Arietta❤️❤️❤️ I know you're a cat person at heart but I think you'd really like Winnie if you met him someday❤️ and he would absolutely love all your kitties.
Love the strong cottage core vibes of the dresses, and adding the patch pocket is a plus of cuteness that works really good too 💙🩵 The garden it's looking great thanks for the update 😉 🍀4 leaf clover for good luck!
AWW! Thank you so much for your comment!❤️ The patch pocket was an idea of one member of our Sewing Gang. I love reading everyone's comments, because everyone here is super smart and creative. Including your cute self! I am blessed when it comes to my audience❤️ Thank you for the 4 leaf clover!🥹❤️❤️
☘ Hi Marlena 😊 your dresses are so beautiful but that blue Gingham was made for you! You are absolutely glowing in that dress. I really enjoy seeing your garden updates. The veggies and flowers look fantastic. You are so clever and talented (and funny and beautiful) i had a big smile on my face watching the doggy and kittys making friends 🤭😆 looking forward to the next episode ❤
For some reason your videos stopped popping up for me to watch, so I decided to look for you. OMG I can't believe how much Winnie has grown since the last time I watched one of your lovely videos. There was snow on the ground where you live in Norway when I saw you last. You are a professional seamstress! You sew with such confidence and ease. I have never in my life done shirring on anything. You make it look so easy. Honestly, is it as easy as you make it look? I used to wear dresses like the dresses you made in this video in the 1970s. It was a hippie dress so to speak. Glad to see you and Winnie, where is Pinky?? I love your garden. Your veggies look yummy.
Marlenka jesteś mistrzem w tym co robisz, sukienki SUPER, montaż godny filmowca, a Twoje szczęśliwe zwierzaki dopełniają całość…oczywiście razem z ogrodem. Moja córka 😍🥰😍🥰😍
That 3rd dress is sooo freakin prettyyyy! I love it, just like the other 2! 🥰 Also I completely get the 'kinda curvy and short so I look like a potato' tent dress idea, but I had a 'tent' dress that was only knee length which made it actually very flattering! I think that would be lovely in that fabric!🍀
The new dresses look great! I am tempted to make my own, but me and shirring don't get along well. 😅 And a new cat friend for Winnie, how lovely! I hope Pinky isn't too territorial so they can be friends too! 🍀
Hello! Thank you so much for your comment!❤️ I forgot to mention it in the video, but after shirring 2 dresses, I had a problem with the blue one. The shirring wasn't as tight as it was on the first 2 and I am not sure why. Eh, I guess I used up my "shirr luck tokens". Pinky is a very friendly boy. I once even saw some strangers petting him. When I came over to chat, they said Pinky is friends with their cats😀😀😀 Pinky also has a girlfriend 🤫that I hope to show you in some future videos.
🍀🐝 I love watching your videos, they are so relaxing to me. Thank you for all of your hard work making them. Honestly, I'm pretty sure we would watch you do anything you care to share with us! Also, your garden is beautiful! I like the wildflower meadow look and Dahlias are one of my favorite flowers. BTW, my pic is me and my Gramma about 30 years ago ☺❤
Oh my goodness! Thank you so much for your comment!❤️ I will remember your words whenever I feel down❤️❤️❤️ And thank you for mentioning that it's a picture of you and your grandma!😍 such a sweet detail! I fell in love with dahlias this year. I hope I can save some of the roots for next year, as it is too cold for them to overwinter "in the wild" 😅 I am glad you like the meadow look to the garden. I left a lot of grasses and "weeds" that were already there because I saw a lot of ladybugs living in them when I was cleaning the garden. let's hope the ladybugs forgave me the disturbance! 😅
That cat thinks he is a mountain lion and Winnie is dinner 😂 Dream on, little lion. Beautiful dresses - I was just thinking about you and I was worried about you! Glad to see the new dresses.
haha, yes! he did look so confident on those rocks! 😂 Awwww! Thank you so much for keeping me in your thoughts❤️🥹 I am working on picking up my schedule😀
Those dresses are beautiful. Bonus points for being the most comfortable thing you've made. Well done. They look lovely. The garden plot is looking spectacular. My 7th floor balcony vegetable garden is coming along well. In a few days I'll be doing my first harvest of pickling cucumbers, beans and cherry tomatoes, as well as some basil for pesto. I'm trying out composting the garden waste for the first time in two decades - it's actually working. Huzzah. We're back on the local bee trail! I'm also sharing a community garden plot with a neighbour - it's amazing how advanced the growing is when the plants aren't restricted to a 5 gallon limit of soil... the basil patch is amazing and we might actually get some squash, besides the best efforts of the squash bugs. Happy growing. Happy sewing. Scritches to the fur babies... - Cathy (&, accidently, Steve), Ottawa/Bytown/Pimisi
Awwww! So nice to hear from you, Cathy! I totally feel your struggle with the balcony gardening. I try to grow some veg on my balcony too, but as you said, everything grows so much better in the soil! I guess the veg like to have some leg room, just like we do 😅 Happy growing and sewing right back at you!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
The white fabric looks like double gauze to me. I would recommend checking to see how sheer the fabric is in the sunlight before deciding what you want to make. Double gauze sometimes can be surprisingly sheer.
I love the blue dress 😍 it looks very Oz, especially with the lace trim I heard that bees see colors much more vividly than us and they're most attracted to blue. So I'd expect a lot more bumblebee visits in the garden ;) Also, that white fabric. So, you know how shirt dresses seem to be trending? You could do a pirate shirt-dress. That would be comfy to throw on to go to the beach and you could use a sash to make it look less like a potato pirate ;)
Thank you so much for your comment!❤️😍 I had no idea about bumblee vision! OMG Thank you so much for sharing that tidbit with me! I shall plant more blue flowers next year for them ❤️ A Pirate Shirt-dress? Sounds freaking AMAZING! Thank you for that idea! ❤️❤️
I would use the white fabric for a flowy wrap dress. I bought a similar fabric in red and am planning to make the Laura Ashley 70‘s dress (McCall‘s M8358) with it and I think that one would be gorgeous on you.
Thank you so much for your comment!❤️ And thank you for sharing the idea for a wrap dress! I have checked out the pattern you mentioned and I absolutely love it😍😍😍😍
You could make a little beach cover-up dress with that gauzy white material that would fit your small frame better than a full length tent dress. Maybe something in an A-frame, like from the 60s. I’m thinking sleeveless, A-frame, goes down to somewhere near your knees. Maybe it doesn’t close all the way, but you could put cute ties and tie little bows down the front. Just a simple A-frame short dress in the 60s style would be cute in that as well. You made me put on my thinking cap. I really don’t think that you would look that bad in a loose gauzy white dress that goes down to the ground either. It just won’t hug your frame, which is what most people in this day and age want their clothing to do. It might not be that stylish, but it would be extremely comfortable. Some cap shorts or bag shorts or Palazzo pants would be nice in that as well.
AWW! Thank you so much for your comment and for watching! ❤️❤️❤️ I am glad you think Mr. Winston suits him!😂❤️ He still has some last tufts of puppy fur and soon will be an official Big Boy🥹🥹🥹
🍀 I do love these dresses! They look so comfy for every day wear. And your garden is amazing! I will have to net mine next year to help with the buggys eating my squash & tomatoes & corn. The climate difference between NE Oklahoma in the US & Norway clearly makes a difference in how things grow!
Thank you so much for watching!😀❤️ I am daydreaming about living in a warmer climate like yours. 😍 But you're right, the gardening challenges are probably much different. I struggle a bit with snails. The copper tape around the beds does help, but they still ate all my store bought flowers. Luckily, they didn't manage to destroy the ones I grow from seeds😀What pests do you struggle with in your garden?
@@Marlenasewing all of my corn was eaten by corn earworms and I had an absolute infestation of leaf footed bugs that cut my yield from my 5 pumpkin vines & 2 watermelon vines has been 5 pumpkins & 2 watermelon. It's now too hot & dry for most garden foods to grow, but I will get a second chance for some plants as it cools down (hopefully!) in the next few weeks. But for now, we have heat advisories because the heat index is well over 100F (37.8C).
Oh my goodness! I hope you are doing well and staying cool indoors! I can see how that kind of damage would be heartbreaking to a person with a green thumb. I will keep my fingers crossed for your second harvest!
@@Marlenasewing thank you so much!! I am staying in as much as possible and keeping our puppies in, even though they think they need out more. Thank you for you good wishes! This has been my first attempt at gardening, so I still consider it a win. Fall planting will be better and next year will be even better & more organized!!
Definitely interested in your thoughts on the TIR TIR cushion foundation. I bought it but haven't used it yet. I have heard that using a very little amount is best with it so I'll probably try that.
🍀 My (Norwegian-American) grandmother could just look at a patch of clover and right away find three or four with four leaves. Clover makes me think of her! So does your garden.
Your thumbnail made me laugh, you're so silly🥰☘ The dresses are both super cute. I've never tried shirring before but you're making me want to give it a try. The garden has grown so much!! I really like the updates Name suggestion for the new cat: Dumpling 😆
Awww! Dumpling is a really cute name 🥹🥹🥹 it would be so nice if the owner of this cat saw it on YT and let us know what's his/hers real name! Thank you so much for your comment, Annie!❤️
if you have too many squashes to eat, try picking off some of the flowers before they fruit! you can fill them with ricotta, batter, and fry them. it's soooo delicious. i'm sure you can find a recipe if you look up "stuffed squash blossoms" or something similar. enjoy your garden's abundance!
Hello! I loooooooove fried squash blossoms. Sadly, I don't get enough of them. Especially on the yellow squash. It seems like the squash doesn't really get pollinated 50-60% of the time. Big sad for me, because I looove squash with passion 😅
@@Marlenasewing oh no!! have you tried hand pollinating? makes a huge difference, so long as you’re willing to put the time in. your garden is beaaaautiful regardless
Hey fren, hey! :) Love the teacup! So pretty. Also, super cute fabric haul! Both dresses are lovely, and I think I need them in my life! 😍 Awwwwww, y'all made a new kitty friend and a bumblebee friend! So sweet. 🥰 I hope that you and the fam are all doing well! Big hugs!
Hello, fren!!😍❤️❤️ So nice to see a comment from you!❤️The teacups were made in the Czech Republic (back when it was Czechoslovakia). I was so happy to see them in a charity shop, because my partners late father was from Czech Republic 😍 I hope you make yourself one of these dresses. You deserve to treat yourself! ❤️
@@Marlenasewing I'm still here, fren! lol Um...did you ever do the IG? You know I'm gonna ask about it. LOL (hugs) Oooh! Glad that you were able to get the teacups. Definitely a good and sentimental reason to have them. Girl, I would make these dresses if 1) I had the energy, and 2) I could find the pedal for the machine. LOL Mom and I are both like, "What happened here?!?" Thinking the house ghost got ahold of it... *joking, but not joking * lol
Watched the video while doing other stuff and suddenly you mentioned my comment.🎉 I'm kind of proud being mentioned by a official you tuber 😎. The two dresses turned out very beautiful.
For shure if you wish😉. I started at age 6/7 after watching my neighbor making a jacket of a big peace of fabric. I was fascinated. 8h streight! What should I say: since than I'm lost. I'm 90% self taught, never read a single description, or be able to follow a pattern correctly... Just doing like I feel it's correct🤷♀️it works fine😂. So many "mistakes" became most loved features. Be creative and wing it sometimes
May I ask how do you apply it? I tried the red tirtir foundation and I feel like it emphasised all the pores I have. I didn't even know I have so many😂😅
@@Marlenasewing Interesting. I find the black one does not do that and I have many enlarged pores. I use serum, followed by AHA Dove moisturiser, then 50+ sunscreen (Japanese), and then the TirTir. Makes my skin look flawless. Japanese/Korean makeup is designed for application on top of very moist skin. Perhaps this is the secret? 🥰🥰🥰
Thank you so much for your comment!❤️ I believe the shirt you mentioned is a Rita Blouse by Charm Patterns. You can watch me make it in one of my previous videos😀❤️
The dresses turned out nicely and are cute. Thanks for sharing your sewing journey with all of us. The lace trimming on the blue dress really compliments the fabric. Been a long time since I've seen a dress with that kind of trim. These days the only trimmed dresses I see are handmade. Jorgen is here and is going to stay another month. All he had to say about the dresses is that they are all too long. I elbowed him for that. Winnie has really grown in the past few months. Love how he made new friends with the neighboring cats. I got the three each trousers and jeans done for Jorgen. Made the trousers from a cotton blend stretch twill. The jeans I made from a 14 ounce stretch denim. I finished my jeans too. It helped a lot that Jorgen helped me out with the projects and kept me company when all he really wanted to do is watch Southern Hemisphere hockey. Its been 40-44 over here and we have 5.5 hour nights. My small planter garden is doing well now. Four of my six plants finally got over transplant shock. Was going to throw away the two that died but apparently they are sprouting now. My strawberries are still growing. Jorgen doesn't do too well with the summer heat and I wrap a gel ice pack in a scarf and tie it around Jorgen's neck so he feels better. We been going swimming at the creek and rivers. Jorgen looks at the sun and burns despite the sun screen. I've barely tanned despite spending hours in the sun.
Hello Susan!!! So nice to see another lovely comment from you!❤️❤️ Haha, poor Jorgen getting elbowed! To be fair to him, I did look a bit clumsy in the garden. I left all the grasses grow tall, so I need to hold my hem up. You and Jorgen honestly sound like someone could make a really romantic+cute cartoon about the two of you❤️ I love reading your stories about swimming in the creek (hope no alligators present😅) and Jorgen burning just by smelling a sunbeam! SO cute!😂❤️ I hope you are all doing well. I am sending a big hug to you, Sabrina, Pepper and an apology for the elbow to Jorgen. 😅❤️❤️
@@Marlenasewing thanks. Jorgen is just Jorgen and thinks all skirts and dresses are too long. I'm surprised that he decided to stay another month because I know that he doesn't like the US. His suggestion is going to Alaska or Anartica next summer. We've known each other for years and I'm surprised that we get a long. Will probably see him next year. Sabrina and Pepper are meowing at you as I type. Those two were on the patio with me yesterday and then ran off in the same direction. They came back with each carrying a kitten. Both were upset that I returned those babies to their mother. Sabrina nagged me until I sat down and did some sewing. She's fine with sitting on top of the machines as I sew. I'm far away from alligators which are in Florida and Louisiana. We have wild bears and cougars over here. Some wild turkeys caused a traffic jam by standing in the middle of a four lane busy street on both sides and there were 13 of them and they wouldn't move for almost 20 minutes.
Aw thanks, my name is for my cats toe beans, her name is Brucilla but we call her Broo and she usually looks moody or concerned. I love your videos they are refreshing and bring me joy. ❤🇨🇦
omgggg!!! That means so much to me, Andy!!! Thank you so much for your words! ❤️❤️ Btw I am watching your video from 13 days ago, as I am still curious about what happened to some of your videos. Will see you in your comment section soon!😀❤️
@@Marlenasewing it's been an emotional roller coaster, but I just need to make content that makes me happy - which is nerding out about content creation. :) You're awesome, I truly appreciate you and love watching your sewing vids - I might pick up a needle and give it a go!
Omg! Hello! ❤️❤️❤️ I'm glad I'm not the only one out there...struggling to reach upper shelves and stuff 😅❤️ I'm glad you clicked on the video, and I hope you join our Sewing Gang!
Hello❤️ I find the feel of this foundation very unpleasant and mask like on my face. I tried few different application techniques and each time, I couldn't wait to get it off of my face🫣
I had no idea until somebody mentioned it in the comments earlier! I feel like that's a lifehack I should have known about earlier. I looove bumblebees! 😂❤️Thank you so much for your comment!❤️
The white fabric looks like double gauze to me. I would recommend checking to see how sheer the fabric is in the sunlight before deciding what you want to make. Double gauze sometimes can be surprisingly sheer.
