if diona was a male character i would play them alot but i cant stand her design, i completely agree and that part, but i think her kit deserves a bit more on the fun scale xD
Honestly I'd argue that Cyno's seriousness is what makes his jokes even funnier. Like him making the stupidest shit with a straight face and straight intonation is A RIOT
Cyno grew on me for that reason alone. He just never stops with the Dad jokes. It was annoying at first and then he commits to the routine and you come around. XD
As a Kamisato Ayato haver, he doesn't dislike Itto. His voiceline towards Itto merely indicates that he found it weird that Itto started calling him "bro" (which is informal to call for someone who is of high status) but never hated him. They even share an interest for Onikabuto fights.
Ayato used to have another version of the "about Itto" voiceline, where he sounds very... disgusted? Definitely not just like he finds it weird in a lovable way. The current version of it right now in the game sounds a lot friendlier.
@@finthecat9373yeah that was definitely an issue in the EN side, he was meant to sound fond while talking about Itto Cause they're canonically friends. Ayato bought Itto an expensive and limited edition TCG deck, and even made a festival based on what Itto likes (adjusted an already planned festival)
100% true. In most of the other languages besides EN, its clear from the tone that Ayato likes Itto. They hang out often, likely against the advice of his advisors as a Kamisato nobleman. Ayato may seem the stiff and upright type, but he has a fun, mischievous lil heart, as he himself was somewhat robbed of a normal childhood
@@Hakumai_o7 That's what I love about Ayato and why I can't really understand why people say he has no personality. If he weren't a commissioner and raised to be super elegant, he'd be a complete menace. He makes Thoma eat completely random stuff for shits and giggles and messes with people on the regular and yeah, he has a tendency to make his advisors mad lmao TL;DR Ayato great we love him
I agree to you 99%, and that 1% is about Ayato not liking Itto. He actually likes Itto a lot and plays onikabuto games with him. It’s just his va misinterpret the message a bit, but now it has changed. Ayato was confused about Itto calling him bro, but not in a bad way, they are actually good buddies. I love his personality, he is cunning and smart, but it’s only what meets the eye, deep down he is also goofy and likes mischiefs
based on the chart, i notice that you really like simple and honest characters; ones where they're true to themselves and don't really enjoy manipulating or hiding who they really are. "What you see is what you get" (with a few outliers but eh) - Thoma, Klee, Cyno, Yoi, and of course Itto. on the other hand, don't really enjoy overly complex characters that require you to do too much digging to find out more about the character, mysterious characters aren't really the ones for you; ones that have more than 1 side to them to say the least - Miko, Ayato, Yelan
Based on this we can clearly see how the amount of screen time a character is given affects how invested the general audience is with them, and that even with really complex lore and personalities; if they weren't given enough screen time no one would be that invested to learn
THATS WHAT I WAS THINKING TOO. and he doesnt like how yelan and miko were so trope-y but he likes yoimiya, amber, etc which are just lame happy waifu tropes whom have no personality besides being nice and barely any lore (or at least not very complex or interesting)
@whos_lin He also gave Miko the worst summary of her character I've seen. "Seductress" is defninitely not the vibe she's going for. If he reduced her to being a troll/asshole it would've been more accurate despite it still being wrong.
As a faruzan main, she is genuinely nice and cares for the ppl she knows like their actual grandma. Her fun personality are sometimes the reason why ppl dont like her but she is still mature which is shown in her storyquest so i hope u can consider her more :)
It makes me really sad that Chongyun has had so little screen time, and when he does appear it's only really for like 5 minutes because he's friends with a character that's relevant to the storyline. I love him both character and gameplay wise but Hoyo did him dirty by giving us so little despite how interesting his lore gets in his character stories/voicelines
Chongyun is so adorable and it's such a tragedy that hyv did him so dirty. All of his interesting stories are relegated to the voicelines/character stories part of the character menu. Every time he does show up he's just XQ's pretty shadow which sucks because he baby. Doesn't help that he got cast out of the meta almost immediately, when he can deal quite a lot of personal damage even as a day 1 4*. Justice for popsicle.
the tragedy is that his friend isn't even relevant to the storyline, and is kinda boring as a character, so it's even sadder to realize Chongyun, a character dripping with potential, is staying in the shadow of a character who doesn't even have personal conflicts aside from bad handwriting. Hoyo really likes Xingqiu for some reason, and they apparently think that he is somehow more interesting than his friend whom they seemingly didn't intend to be relevant.
@@kiel127 Xingqiu got too much screen time where he did nothing. Sorry, I can't not be salty about it. If Hoyo did something interesting with him I wouldn't say anything, but what we got is "haha I'm a book nerd I love books so much, I can read guys, and I'm writing books for weebs, my handwriting is ass tho..." Like he has his story quest, he gets a decent amount of lines in every Liyue event, he stole Chongyun's appearance in Shenhe's archon quest, he got a role on Inazuma's festival event and all we got from that was... He can read and his handwriting is shit. His character is described to be a funny man with a heart of gold, noble and heroic, but what we get to see is a brat showing off before criminals and being a lazy ass while his friends doing all of the job for him. It wouldn't be that bad if the man in his shadow wasn't a goddamn exorcist with an ACTUAL heart of gold, who has possible ties to dragon lore giving his dragon-shaped eyes and Yang energy inside of him (yang -> dragon), his aunt is a menace and their interactions would've been hilarious IF WE HAD THEM IN THE GAME LOL TWO YEARS LATER, who actually does have a personal conflict, actually does heroic stuff without being pretentious about it and also has another personality inside of him. Oh by the way, did we get to see his second personality? Nope : ) Layla got to shine with hers right away. Maybe because she didn't have someone else stealing her screentime. I don't hate Xingqiu I like him and his interactions with Chongyun, but I'm pretty pissed how Hoyo did Chongyun dirty, and Xingqiu was their biggest mistake in that regard. Not only did Xingqiu get almost nothing from all those hours of screentime, but in his place, there could've been another character who would've fit way better and had much more to offer.
@@derp_dragons Whether or not he's a good Abyss Prince, my main issue is them insisting both characters are the protagonist but then going "But she's definitely the canon antagonist" in any promotional material that requires having one and also up until very recently weren't even having her voice actor DO anything (she didn't even get to say Happy Lantern Rite like he did lol)
The traveler's personality is more emphasized in their voice lines where they talk to Paimon. They are silent for the most part, but they're not a silent protagonist.
yes, this! the traveller has a personality. i hate how people misintepret silent protags = self-inserts. not all silent protags are self-inserts. i know traveller in the beginning came off bland but lately. hoyo been showing traveller's fun side more, like the recent summer event. i hope hoyo will show the traveller's personality more and not just in their voicelines
The Traveler is 100% a silent protagonist the same way Byleth is in Fire Emblem 3 Houses or Joker is in Persona 5, they never speaks out loud in story except for a VERY few select cases He is basing his opinion of personality off of events and story quests, not character screen voice lines, thats the same reason he thinks Ayato hates Itto, because he isnt basing it off the voicelines, only events and etcetera
I will always defend Diona, she's just a neglected child acting out and hoping the adult around her will finally give a fuck. Her story is incredibly heart breaking
I love Klee’s playstyle for being clunky yet rewarding. Being able to abuse animation cancels just feels so satisfying. I love Hu Tao because she’s autistically coded, and that relatability makes her so cute and attractive to me, idk what to do with myself. Yoimiya is just wholesome. And I like how Eula is kindof terrifying yet proper, owning her heritage and rewriting their reputation
you’re so right re: hu tao!! other characters i see as being on the spectrum zhongli - hyperfixating, infodumping, always happy to share information even if people have probably heard it before as long as he’s prompted (and sometimes even when he isn’t) eula - not great at reading the atmosphere sometimes but she tries. feels like she is always very conscious of how people perceive her and if she’s doing things ‘right’ (i hesitate on this one bc i don’t want people to associate autism with bigotry which eula is indirectly associated with re: lawrence clan) sayu - feeling tired easily from social interactions esp from sensory overload (tbh this is more of a chronic illness thing but sensory issues have a great overlap with autism), brain fog kokomi: masking masking masking!!!!!! it wears her out xinyan - unapologetically herself in the best way, doesn’t try to conform to social “rules” she thinks have no real basis (i adore her), maybe has some issues with volume check aka talking loudly when excited regardless of setting, many neurodivergent and autistic people in general seem to find space to be themselves and express through art (as she does with music), also stimmy other mentions: yoimiya, tighnari, albedo, fischl, xingqiu, razor(?), cyno, kazuha, chongyun, xiao, shenhe, raiden, often because of their special interests or how they have difficulty interpreting social norms/other’s feelings - listen i started with a list of just 3 characters and now im adding basically everybody but now might as well disregard this list lol also adhd gang - kaveh, venti, yoimiya hu tao xiangling - really most pyro gals & sucrose collei ganyu kokomi w/ anxiety issues (and i hc that sucrose has rosacea bc if her cheeks) qiqi with brain fog
I blame the game itself for how undercooked Diluc and Jean are, because from what the manga shows, Diluc is very well behaved and polite, but can also crack out a smug remark to piss off someone he doesn't like. There's a lot more to him than "grumpy guy with a dead father" and I wish the game content showed more of that, and a lot of it has to do with his relationship to Jean, who I'm admittedly very biased towards and I'm probably making up a lot of characterization that isn't actually there, but the self-destructive nature of her sense of responsibility is very interesting because it takes her from flawed to not as good a person as she appears to be. She clearly doesn't spend enough time with Klee, has made it almost her career to prevent Noelle from achieving her dreams (for as much as her doing so would actually improve the Knights as a whole so much), and prefers to do everything herself becsuse she believes only _she_ can do it. It's a sort of arrogance combined with the fear of change that removes her from the goody two-shoes camp and makes me want to see her change and improve, but she probably never will because the game has never actually laid out these elements, or treats some of them like running gags, like, haha, isn't it funny how the majority of Klee's time is spent locked up in her room by herself? I just really like those two, man, I hate how they're so neglected by the story.
Yeah, I never really liked the idea of Jean putting Klee in “solitary confinement”, especially since I’ve seen other stories use that as punishment and character trauma. I’m not saying that Jean’s abusive or trying to traumatize Klee, but I do think it’s weird how she thinks isolating a child into a small room for hours (and maybe even days) is a good idea.
lol Noelle didn’t pass the exam herself and she is very young, how is it any of Jean’s fault? Children needs to be disciplined especially one with bombs. I know you admitted that you are probably projecting somewhat. But realistically speaking, in- game Klee never resented Jean for that and she knows she was basically just grounded for a few hours because she did something wrong.
@@ClouDistrict31 it’s explicitly said that Noelle passes the requirements to be a knight, but Jean keeps failing her because she doesn’t want Noelle to get hurt. Which makes no sense 😂 to be a Knight is to put oneself at risk of being harmed. She’s literally fueling Noelle’s insecurities because she doesn’t trust her, meanwhile Noelle is still capable of doing the same work as any other Knight (it’s in the Knights of Favonius handbook that you can’t rely on Noelle to get the job done)
I'm stuck in that weird spot where I can't deside if I like or dislike Alhaitham, personality wise. He's kind of a ass but in an entertaining way, even if every time he and Kaveh talk I really want to take them to a therapist or teach them to communicate and compromise
I agree, these two need to see a therapist ASAP. Also I wouldn't say Alhaitham is an ass, he's more like an individualist who likes to speak bluntly. I think he's definitely capable of being caring, considerate and even kinda sweet sometimes.
@@omnipresent_lightbulb Nah he is totally an ass. He reminds me of people who say "well I am not rude I was just being a honest!!!" Worst people to interact with who use honesty as an excuse to be rude towards others lmao
@@John_II read his lines during the celebratory feast and you will understand, EQ doesn't necessarily mean that you're nice and sweet all the time, it means that you have a good understanding of human emotions
I only tolerate Alhaitham because he's an important person to Kaveh (who's the best character ever) and even though they should really work on their relationship, it seems like they have been through a lot and they were always there for each other even if they don't always have the same opinions.
Ayato basic? I mean I blame Hoyo for underusing him(he should've been in the Archon quest instead of Ayaka and I will die on that hill) but damn that hurt a little. Regardless of that, and all the other takes I disagree with, what I always appreciate about your videos is the level of quality and creativity you put into them. Your channel, in my opinion, is highly underrated. Keep up the great work! o/
Ayato is definitely a character you'll have to dig around more to find out more about him He has really interesting connections to different characters and factions (Ning and the Fatui) He's also one of the really morally Grey characters, he operates a slightly more moral fatui organization afterall
Yeah I got so pissed off in the TCG championship event that we got where we got to battle AYAKA instead of Ayato like why??? Ayato CANONICALLY plays tcg why the fuck is he not in the event???
@@mikii278Yeah he's super basic in the quests, so most people, like me, who don't dig much into the character won't really know much about him. Plus, they gave him one of the worst story quests in the game. The story itself wasn't bad, but the fact that he was basically a background character the whole time made it terrible
@@junkoyaki5486 Yea I get that, but if you're doing his STORY quest, I expect the STORY to be knowing more of who he is, like his background or his history, his relationships with certain people or whatever. Just to have SOME feeling like he's more than just an extra that's barely mentioned in his own story
i feel like that was the sentiment at the begining but with the events and kaveh's hangout even people who dont ship them have turned around to alhaitham, but that first part where we only got a snippet of kaveh and well. Alhaitham being Alhaitham was REAL TOUGH. i love kaveh so much and i love alhaihtam too but i know if i were to meet him irl i wouldnt stand him LMAO
28:52 i love her, she's one of my favorites. the fun in faruzan is that she's a sassy old grandma, her hangout proves it 😭😭 not to mention in the sumeru event "WHAT DO YOU MEAN OUTDATED?BACK IN MY DAYS EVERYONE USED TO ENVY MY STYLE" like a hundred years ago 💀💀 love the girl-... sorry, the MADAM.
15:53 100% I feel like as long as Shenhe’s rage issues are never fully fixed she’ll continue to be fantastic and the moment they ARE fixed I will be so so sad But I do think they did a good job with Yunjin’s opera making me feel for the friendship between Shenhe and the Traveller. Particularly since the Traveller is one of the few “humans” in Teyvat that could stand against Shenhe’s attacks when she loses control.
"I would like Raiden a lot more if they kept her as a villain" "I wish they didn't try to make Shenhe do good things." THIS GUY GETS IT!!! I liked those women at first bc of their questionable morality but then the game had to uwu them and now I just roll my eyes every time they appear in an event to thank the traveller for fixing them.. booo
I understand for Raiden but shenhe was never even portrayed as evil or even questionnable? She has always been on the good side, just has a colder personality because she hasn't been around a lot of humans when she grew up
@-amel-9896 her nature pushes her to extreme violence and she doesn't quite see what's wrong with that, the red rope stops her from being violent but also supresses her other emotions.
i wish they brought up ayato's michievous side more often. he has the potential to be a fun asshole, going out of his way and abusing power just to do some silly business, he has one voiceline that goes like "i laugh every time i see the look on my employee's faces seeing my damn schedule but they can't say a thing cuz i'm their boss hehe". PLEASE give my man more personality, he already does stuff just to see people's reactions, bring that further, it'd be so surprising and fresh to see a powerful elegant man doing pranks and goofy stuff while maintaining the elegancy
also he likes itto, he just thinks its funky that itto calls him 'bro' since he's such a powerful figure and never's been treated like that but itto doesn't know so for him ayato's just his bro 😭i love their dynamic. there's also this artpiece i saw ages ago of them beetlefighting where ayato was cheering a bettle named elizabeth 💀 canon to me
Ayato is definitely one of the few genshin chara that have so many sides to him 1. Yashiro Commissioner - always level headed and calm, manipulative and will always go for the fastest and most effective method. 2. Kamisato clan head - a loving and protective big brother, will do ANYTHING to keep his family safe and has little to no regard about himself 3. Just Ayato - a lil sht, really mischievous and a bit sadistic, really likes teasing his friends and acts a bit spoiled 4. Shuumatsuban Head - cold blooded and has large body count, anyone that dares get in his way will be disposed off, will use anyone to achieve his goals
Nah there's a significant part of the Kaveh fandom who also like Alhaitham. Shipping aside he took him in when he was at his lowest and tries to aupport him in his growth in the way self-loathing Kaveh needs it but admittedly without event knowledge those aspects might be easily overlooked
AYATO DOESN'T HATE ITTO!!! THEY'RE FRIENDS!!! THE TONE OF THE VOICELINE IS FIXED!! please i beg u go back and listen to it plus his talent descriptions, itto is a close friend of ayato's, only he, ayaka and thoma are mentioned in his talent description, and a few patches back the updated the voiceline he has about itto, which in all the other dubs has always been lighthearted and kind, he doesn't /understand/ itto since there is such a difference of class between them but they are absolutely friends!!! they play tcg and have beetle fights together!!! ayato sent him a gift when he has his festival!!! cmon dude -sincerly, one of itto's biggest fans (c3 about to be c6 on his next rerun mark my words)
@@icekiller1594 What do you expect from the Eng dub after making Paimon unnecessarily annoying, Xiao unnecessarily edgy and Alhaitham & Kaveh unnecessarily rude to each other ?
@duonggialinh5724 hopefully that changes with the new va studio after all the stuff with the old one not paying their actors came out since they're mostly at fault for how they were directing the dub,,, we live in hope
I really like xinyan but her kit seems hard to work with. So as an avid xinyan enjoyer I suggest to hoyoverse to give her something similar to nilou’s bountiful cores, where she changes the overloaded reaction to “sonic boom” or something, that could deal an extra instance of physical damage and gives a party wide buff that gives 3% extra defence and 1% physical damage bonus that can be stacked. Now the funny thing about this buff is that it does not stop stacking until you reach like 195% defence and 75% physical damage bonus, balanced only by the fact that it runs out in only about 2 seconds and overload can do tons of knockback. Split stacking’s solved though, especially when you can just build up *_195% DEFENCE_* without any external help (maybe a bit of luck though) but it also fits her character, keeping the pressure on us what concerts and rock music is all about, right? I don’t listen to rock or know much about music so I could be incredibly wrong but at least 50 explosions sounds metal as hell.
I adore Ganyu! And everything about her. I love her kit, and her personality. I also greatly adore her design and I also greatly enjoy her moments with Cloud Retainer. Ganyu is still my favorite character. But Nilou is just behind her too. I am a Ganyu fan. She is my strongest character and the only one with any crowns.
I get what you’re saying in the take that Alhaitham’s an asshole, but the way I see it, he’s more that type of friend that isn’t the best at comforting people. He’s the type of guy that tries to solve your problem if you vent to him instead of listening and cheering you up. While it isn’t a good thing, it’s in his personality. He’s presented in the story as a character that only follows logic and is rational, but if you look a bit deeper, he’s that friend to direct you to the right path when he notices something is wrong. Kaveh is the example. Alhaitham does get concerned when Kaveh goes to the tavern to get drunk after a stressful day. He also gave Kaveh a place to live when he would have been homeless otherwise and often brings him back to reality, which Kaveh sometimes needs. I might be biased because I main Alhaitham but I genuinely love his character and his dynamic with Kaveh, and no, I don’t ship them. I see them as roommates put each other in their lane when needed and maybe even broskis when in their friend group with cyno and tighnari
I completely agree with you. While on the outside he is blunt and can be a lil shit at times but inside he still cares about his friends very much but he just doesn't know how to show it ( I like to think that it's due to his family's death but I could he wrong or whatever ). His relationship with Kaveh is def more complicated and misunderstood. If you have read Kaveh's Character Story 5 ( which I doubt anyone does except me ), you would know that Alhaitham does not hate Kaveh, in fact he cares about him a lot. He only acts " mean " to Kaveh so that Kaveh wouldn't be hard on himself because he thinks that he doesn't deserve kindness. Alhaitham is the only person Kaveh doesn't have to pretend to be ok and let go of his ideals around. So platonic or romantic, I absolutely love their relationship and could spend hours and hours ranting about. And about Alhaitham particularly, he's so misunderstood which makes me sad not only because he's my favorite character but also because I relate to him a lot
Qiqi comment here! While she is no where near one of my top favorites, I have realized that her playstyle is fully determined by if you are in a 4 man co-op or not. She is just made unfortunately due to being a screen-time demanding healer which are typically not great. However, all that changes when you play her in a 4 man co op. Since she scales with ATK, she enables you to actually go ham with crit and ATK to deal damage AND heal, and it feels WAAAY more proactive than most healers. She isn't too bad, but much like Dori, her strength is specific that it's in co-op.
As both an Itto and Ayato appreciator I should point out that Ayato's voiceline abt Itto is now updated to be taken to be of fond curiosity rather than displeased questionability (I think it was always meant to be this way since the other VA's tend to have the more likeable vibe) Also looking at his backstory he pretty much deserved to behave that way since his back should be destroyed after carrying the entire of the Kamisato Clan when most of the other clans didn't even bothered to help them when they were in ruins after their parents died (also another reason why Thoma is best boy, he was one of the only people who stayed to help)
Personally don't really agree with characters like Zhongli and Bennet being fun, even if they enable others. Like they wouldn't go into unfun, due to this enabling, but I would put them into the middle at most.
Ayato actually does like Itto as they do beetle fights and play games together and he gives Itto limited edition cards he finds. They re-recorded his English about Itto line so it sounds friendlier/more affectionate which is more accurate lol.
it depends on who you ask. If you ask someone who likes easy to use visually cool characters, they'll say he's super fun whereas if you ask anyone who doesn't like repetitive and easy gameplay, they'll say ayato's boring. Even as an ex ayato main, I have to say that many would get bored of his playstyle pretty quickly (I haven't tho I just stopped maining him cause I started maining yelan).
He's fun to me. I've been maining him on both my accounts since his release and never felt bored with him for a second. Still 36* every Abyss with him a year and a half later.
What Ayato offers aside from a really easy playstyle is great versatility, you can use him in any hydro related comp and he'll be good and wouldn't have major downsides
That "people" are just mostly childe mains probably, if you don't want to stress much ayato is for you, besides that, it looks cool too visually so yeah..
I respect the opinion of not liking Yae Miko (I know plenty of people who don't), but I think calling her a "seductress" to be um ...disingenuous? Think about it, if she as a male character would you still think of her as a "seducer". I think the term you're looking for is "trickster". The fandom may have overly sexualized her but that is not how she is in game. IMO
Isn't it every single community ever, tho? I've been on the internet for literal decades now and it's the same in every single fandom. People whished death on each other with full seriousness over Sally vs Amy Rose in Sonic fandom back in ye olden days ))
@@Rina_TL fr lol every community has a giant bias so i "understand" but Sonic tho? They are wild, i remember saying that Sonic should be alone forever and people just massacrated me for that (good ol days)

Firstly, amazing video idea and I enjoyed hearing your points. Feel like some of your explanations don't match where you've placed the character, but maybe that's just me reading into your lines too much. Like maybe you're trying to justify something and end up speaking more positively or negatively about them, but you still place them where you want to. Personally, I disagree with a lot of the placements and agree with a few, I think that's a good thing. If we all have the same opinion, then it's simply conformation bias and seeking self-gratification. You're going with your heart and stuff you're familiar with and that's great. I tend to look way more into the character and explore why they act as such and have their roles. I really disliked Itto at first, but he's grown on me through events and such and now I think his personality fits situations. I still dislike the rest about him though lol. I Agree with you on Yelan and that's the reason I skipped her too. I just cannot like her personality/role. Although Kokomi is my favourite character, I think Hoyo rushing her story quest and her part of Inazuma Archon quest was really unfair to her character. I also enjoy her playstyle way more than just as a jellyfish place down character. I think when you like a character more, you tend to play different styles of combat with them. Then you discover more things, and this impacted your chart heavily. In the end, you're just a person who wanted to make a Genshin character alignment chart and I think that's pretty cool. Makes me want to make one of my own lol. Keep up these videos m8, I really enjoy them.
If we're doing Yelan slander, then maybe this is my time to come out with my opinion that she's one of the few character designs in the game I consider genuinely aesthetically bad. Yeah she's mummy or whatever, but her design is evocative of modern sportswear rather than Genshin's fantasy-ish style, all the detailing and gaps up her left side are busy in a way that's more confusing than appealing, I just think she's a mess. Shame her gameplay's so great because I dislike looking at her too much to ever pull for her.
my initial reaction when I saw her was… very confused. I didn’t like her character design, but she looked pretty fun to play. She’s still a good character but I don’t think she’s for everyone lol
31:40 well, you're actually wrong here. Ayato DOESN'T dislike Itto. There was an issue with the voice line where EN made it sound like Ayato was annoyed by Itto BUT they actually replaced that voice line, rerecorded, whatever. So now if you were to listen to it you'd find Ayato is more amused with Itto's quirks than anything which is how it sounded in other voice-overs from the very beginning.
Looks like I'm the only guy in universe who thinks Barbara is fun to play. She has two powerful teams where she is on-field(Nilou bloom & Hyperbloom) and facetanks everything. Absolute walking menace. And also very mobile, no circle impacting, applies a lot of hydro(~15 per rotation)
This goes to show how mischaracterization central is really a huge issue from Genshin. Like, Wanderer being more likable to you when all he does is grumble and be edgy, with his inflated ego and all that than Faruzan's who also has the same arrogance and ego, but with the altruism and enthusiasm to offset it, making all of her screentime worth every second. Also, Ayato doesn't hate Itto, please do a bit more research despite having to do this across multiple characters.
Yeah but you kinda have to look at it from a backstory standpoint and compare it to xiao. They both went through emotional torture and were ready to end it all for the sake of others. Xiao was grumpy and emo in 1.0 but is much more warmed up to humans in recent events, and I think wanderer will go through this kind of transition over time. Just maybe not in the same way. Meanwhile the hate Faruzan gets is I think mostly hoyoverse’s fault. You get to experience Wanderer’s and Xiao’s cutscenes of their backstories, and a lot of their character development through their own interlude quests, meanwhile Faruzan only gets a mention of her story and character in her hangout event, which many people didn’t get to see. Kinda expected since she’s a four star.
@@annamemes6652 Wanderer and Xiao have no excuse to constantly be pep-talked to act decent with every screentime they get. Wanderer had a whole arc dedicated to him only and it only revealed that his attitude is his choice. Xiao's getting better in events but both of their playable personalities are hair-ripping compared to Faruzan's. You even have to consider that Faruzan, who's a normal human being who experienced just as much loss as those two, took the loss in stride because her outlook is much better. Point is, people shouldn't do these tierlists without consuming all content about a character because 4-stars will always get less than a feautred 5-star.
@@salceds I don't think its a matter of not having consumed the content. I also like Wanderer. And I liked Faruzan better before doing her hangout event. As I went through her hangout event, she just seemed to be more and more incompetent than I initially imagined. With Wanderer, he gets it that he has to look out for himself and he doesn't owe anybody anything. That's just a realistic view of the world. Sure, cooperating is often a better way to do things. But I don't blame him after he's been betrayed like he has. I know that despite not blaming him, that doesn't mean you have to like him or want to be around him. But the harsh comments don't really bother me personally and I find him to be humorous. He trashes on Paimon after all. Everyone should like that.
@@Elrog3 Faruzan's a beast lmao. Everyone she loved died and everything she cared about is gone yet she still makes connections because there's only up to go for where she's from. Wanderer however is stuck-up and self-centered, his entire backstory can be summarized by refusing to let go of your own ego because it's the only thing he has left. He wants to be pitied, he wants to be coddled and told it's okay. Faruzan wants NONE of that, her "incompetence" as you described is her just being a normal person reacting to literally a different world. She knows what happened to her is tragic, she knows she's pitiful but the very last thing she wants is to be pitied and looked at with sadness hence the bravado she puts up. She'd rather be seen as a stubborn force than a pathetic slump. I don't really think highly of anyone who thinks Wanderer is funny, it's just the usual "Oh, I'm the edgy sarcastic badass look at me so I'm tough" and Paimon slander is sooo 2021 like grow up. The only people who find that *that* humorous are either Twitch streamers or anime MC wannabes with a dash of incels thrown into the mix.
@@salceds Hating paimon isn't anything about trying to be funny. I was simply expressing a strongly held opinion. I don't like her and I don't know how anyone could. She's terrible all around. She's obese and gross to look at. Her high pitched voice is horrible. She says the stupidest things. She is mean sometimes for no reason at all. And she's childish and complains a lot. I would pay money for the option to shut her up. I wasn't playing the game in 2021. I started in 3.7. And the entire worlds etiquette doesn't change every 2 years. And did you really like your own post and tell me to grow up? Faruzan being from a 100 years ago does not justify her being incompetent when it comes to being able to find students or being able to create a game/toy/thing that is fun. Its expected that there's knowledge she would have to catch up on. But general communication and understanding social interactions is not something that fits in that category. She probably sucked at it 100 years ago too. Yes, Wanderer is self-centered. But nothing about him says "I want to be pitied". He probably would like to do some pretty mean things to people that would try to pity him. It would be insulting.
idk if u knew this or not but for if u ever do this in the future-while dragging an image to a certain spot, u can hold ctrl so it doesnt snap to certain spots n u can move it freely !
Somebody needs to play Thundering Furry! I love how Razor is still super viable thanks to Dendro. One of my fave OG characters and will always keep him part of my abyss rotations 😁
Xinyan kit is fun, but it's only her scaling that did her bad. If she had good scaling , her burst combo'd with her E, it's like the bread and butter. With cons 2, makes her fantastic burst dps. I wish there were a pryo reaction buff for physical , otherwise she should've been electro (because she used a guitar, THAT CAN BE ELETRIC, LIKE HOW DID HOYO MISS THAT). Anyways rip Xinyan, I hope she gets buffed
I at first loved the dom mommy vibe Yelan gives off. But, she doesn’t have the caring side like Lisa and such that makes Lisa attractive to me. And Yae Miko is annoying to me because she couldn’t care less about me. Lack of reciprocation hurts. Tho I do ship RaidenMiko because they actually do have a history
As a certified Ayaka, Faruzan, Kokomi and Lumine simp I am very deeply offended by your utterly incorrect opinions. How dare you not like the same characters as I do? Unbelievable. You, good sir, have successfully done what you set out to do with this video. On the other hand, I'm glad Qiqi gets some appreciation here. Like you, I'm a big fan of her character, though I actually find her quite fun to play too. Out of all the healers, she's by far the most fun to on-field for me. Sure, she has her issues, such as no particle generation and short legs, but her sword slashes just feel really fluid and satisfying to pull off. Just slap the good ol' 4p Clam set on her and watch as the zombie child slowly tears everything apart while keeping the party practically immortal.
Great vid, I always love hearing your opinions, and other people's opinions too even if ai disagree, but I'm glad you were blunt as always, and I'm agree with you on the Raiden and Yae placement, people are often blinded by their designs but Yae like to tease yes, but also really doesn't like anyone but Raiden, it's not an act. And Raiden's story was terrible and her motivations made no sense, I would've preferred she be a full blown villain instead of them getting cold feet last minute and making her do a 180 last minute. I've never liked Xiangling's gameplay, which is why I've been hoping, since launch, that we get another good pyro off field applier, because I really want to be able to do forward vape and reverse melts since like the hydro and cryo characters we have more than the pyro characters we have (I only like Yoimiya). Shenhe is my favorite characters in the game so far, character and design wise, and gameplay wise she's ok but I wish she was an on field unit because I love her so much.
As a longtime viewer Man said Ayaka is one of the most bland and basic characters in the game before proceeding to immediately put Game-Amber almost all the way up to the front. 💀
Funny how different opinions can be since i like characters that are calm and not loud for example Itto is my least favorite and despise every event he is in and Keqing favorite so my list almost entirely opposite 😂
The issue with Dori is she isn't a morally complex character. She isn't grey like Raiden or likably evil like Arlecchino. She's just a total piece of shit, and also a landlord. Also admit it, you'd hate Itto if you had to actually talk to him regularly too.
Wait, Dori isn’t a piece of shit. Well kit-wise maybe. But she is so particular about getting as much money as possible because someone related to her (I think her sister or something? Unsure) died because her family could not afford medicine. She is just coping with that loss by pushing to make sure she never has to experience that again. That’s a very human sentiment. Sure, her voicelines can get annoying and we only ever see a surface picture of her goals, but she is not a total piece of shit. She’s a fool who thinks money can solve the problems she’ll encounter in the future, but she is not a malignant person. She is not evil or cruel and she isn’t meant to be. She is a good character with good intentions, but a really simplistic and stupid way of going about it. She isn’t morally complex because she doesn’t have to be.
I’m actually the slight opposite when it comes to Amber in terms of character. I thought she was good before Eula stepped in. Before, she was just a fun character made as kinda the poster girl to the game, now with Eula and how they’re glued together 99.99% of the time. It gotten worse when come windblume where she finally reunited with Collei only for Amber at the end to basically go “she doesn’t need me hovering over her shoulder 24/7” while she’s hovering over Eula’s shoulder for the 10th time. It’s to the point that this recent event bottleland event became a breath of fresh air for Eula because Amber isn’t here. I will admit, part of it is because Twitter shipping wars (or I guess “X” shipping wars) made me loathe the ship and the similar Beigguang and Eimiko. But still, that moment when Amber made that speech as if she’s trying to show Collei’s growth, unironically made me want to slap her upside the head.
commenting not bc my opinion is important but for algorithm :) i agree with everything so far (6:34) except for diona, like it’s uncanny. glad someone else isn’t a fan of the whole yamato nadeshiko thing ayaka has going on. as for diona, i’m a fan of bratty kids. like it’s the time in your life where u can get that out of ur system. (technically she’s an adult i think, but…) and her gimmick of wanting to take down the alcohol industry but being so good at making drinks is charming to me can understand why others don’t like her tho lol
as for ayato i like him a bit less because he feels like kaeya… 2! in terms of personality (and i love kaeya to be clear, it just feels like he’s meant to be the same but much more boring) and i like collei especially bc i relate to her (unfortunately my chronic illness can’t be cured :’) )
alhaitham i dislike because it feels like he’s talking down to us the whole quest 😭 or maybe that’s just from the writing making it so he makes all of the ideas and plans in that quest (also i wish he had long hair like su but it’s fineeee)
yun jin i adore - not just bc of opera itself. i love the juxtaposition of being in opera (often seen as snooty/polar opposite to rock) and her sneaking away to watch xinyan, hang out with her, etc. because she loves her music too. and the “alias” she uses for xinyan is sweet shajdj
I could go on and on about how I disagree with many characters, but you said that not liking itto is a red flag which is a rule of this world, so you're spared :D
Idc what anyone says, Albedo is fun to use. His skill having practically infinite uptime and how satisfying it is to place down will never be boring to me
Totally agree on yealn, keqing and the seductress character. I get it yelan, you're a badass, don't need to brag about it everytime you speak. Be a badass and have nice personality like dehya or candace. And keqing the same girlbossy attitude just without the extra badass part. Lastly the seductress character, Lisa and Yae. Their mannerism makes them look like a hoe. And yae's sly personality comes more as jerk than being playful
@@Elrog3 dehya's dumb? Bro forgot that alhaitham inviting her to work for akademia, proof of her intellect. Also I'm not saying keqing's not smart, just her grating girlbossy personality. That "stop procrastinating" idle voice, I'm sick of it
Ayato does like Itto? he finds him amusing i believe? hard agree on Diona and Itto placement. disagree with Klee only on the basis of i dislike most child characters. Xingui and Ayato would switch with Nilou and Ganyu and Dori would move toward dislike. and Kaveh, Xiao, Albedo, and Thoma would be more fun for me. this is an interesting list and the reasons you gave are some i wouldn't have thought of. very entertaining!☺
Eh. I still put Eula's gameplay as my most favourite one (with personality. I know how it feels to be a sociatal periah), but again, you do you. But for real, make it so we can detonate Eula's burst early by pressing burst again. And for pete's sake, let her prefunnel energy.
Do you have a version of these we can fill out because I liked the concept a lot. Even tho I didn’t agree with a lot of your takes but that’s just because we’re different in what we like and still interesting to see how other people think about characters! Great video
as someone who got genshin recommended because a classmate thought i own the same personality as Xingqiu (as well as too many kin tests, help me), i think he has quite an appealing personality to me (could be that I'm biased, but since i hate me more than I love me, I think this can be ignored) Perhaps i should get a Xingqiu Main in the future, who knows, rain outlines our fate. Well, and then there is Lisa where I disagree with her personality/playstyle placement (yes yes, I'm biased, I'm a lisa main and I am or at least was used to be while writing this comment the best gilded lisa from the eu server on the akasha (120% er)). With the remaining characters i can more or less agree, if we ignore Hu Tao, I mean, I don't hate her, but I heavily dislike her personality and her playstyle (Jump canceling combined with polearm charged attacks are not a thing I enjoy, probably because I enjoy CA Bow playstyle a lot more and it just feels better), well, and I don't even want to talk about a certain part of her Community, it scares me. So let me say it now, even tho this might upset some, but from what we saw in the 4.0 livestream on lyneys gameplay, he is way superior than Hu Tao. I hope I didn't caused a lot of death wishes for my low oppinion on Hu Tao, but this is how I see the current characters
6:30 Ayaka has a lot of wasted potential. In the first part of the Inazuma Archon Quest, the way she navigates reeling the Traveller in and then sending them off to Yoimiya for protection suggests she’s manipulative, well-connected, and determined to make her desires come true. Unfortunately, Thoma and Ayato (I’m pretty sure he didn’t exist before Ayaka’s MASSIVE popularity) stripped her of this character trait, which would’ve made her so much more interesting. She’s still compelling in my view but not everyone has to feel that way.
Ayato already existed when Ayaka was created, in her really early voicelines (during the execution cut sprint days) Ayaka already talked about Ayato. Plus, Ayaka wasn't manipulative, she simply showed the traveler the state of Inazuma. I love her sweet and hardworking personality.
Gotta clap back: I am the red flag Itto disliker. I like him when he gives block head protagonist energy, like in the Chasm. But otherwise, I just find him obnoxious. I dislike his archetype in general, so it's not really his fault. But whenever he's involved, it just make me pity Kuki for having to deal with it. 😅
Notice how the most liked characters personality-wise are the pyro characters , because pyro people always seem to be the most outgoing bubbly fun characters in general.
As a fellow itto main I find it hilarious on how we share the same opinions about yoimiya! Those two are most likely my top 2! Also I completely agree with Ayato, I really don't like his rich kid attitude, I hated his story quest so he is actually the only character I don't own!
I’ve been out of the genshin community for a bit but I had no idea that kaveh fans hate alheithem like I thought that half the fans were there just for the ship I’m lowk confused
Characters that make me smile: Itto (so funny), Yoimiya (so bubbly), Amber (so bubbly), Cyno (Dad jokes), Alhaitham (tells it like it is), and Zhongli (most knowledgeable in the room and helpful). Characters I would never be friends with IRL: Yelan (can't trust her), Yae Miko (can't trust her), Faruzan (kind of a b!tch), Kujou Sara (kind of a b!tch), Tartaglia (a war criminal), and Venti (too drunk).
