As a DDD main lemme explain what happened at the end of G4 and in the final game in grands: Gordo has no Hitbox until DDD actually hits it with his hammer, but it does have a Hurtbox. Your FAir hit the Gordo before it became "active" but also right as the Hammer-swing hitbox from SideB came out. Your FAir hit the Gordo and put you into Hitlag, then the Hammerswing-hitbox hit the Gordo back pretty much instantly before your FAir had time to also hit DDD. Same thing happened at 38:36 with your Turnip instead of your FAir. The important thing is you FAir'd before the gordo became "active" *and* while the Hammerswing Hitbox was out. In the last game in grands you Fair'd right *as* Gordo became active, so you only traded with the really early Gordo hit instead of this weird Hammerswing gimmick happening. And to answer your question for what DDD is supposed to do in DDDvsPalu: Ledgetrap for his fckn life. That's probably the only saving grace in the MU, though you have to win neutral first (which is doable but becomes much harder against people who know the MU).
