wow! This is exactly what I have been looking for a long time. A Multi Roll Tape Dispenser, which is not only practical, but also looks very good. The combination of this beautiful wood and acrylic looks very classy. If this were available for purchase, I would immediately snap it up 😉

Hi Cristiana, super impressive the cutting capacities of this laser cutter, I have seen some used by other Makers like you but with smaller capacity (max 3mm) but here you cut the right thickness and I believe it is is the first that I see cutting such a thickness that allows to be able to do a whole bunch of things that would not be possible without this type of machine. Okay, I understand that it is better to have a workshop to use it because it gives off a lot of burning smell and could disturb (even worry) the neighbors if we use this machine in an apartment, otherwise it is necessary, as you do look, add some sort of air "purifier" which certainly adds to the price that shouldn't be a giveaway for such a machine. In any case your adhesive tape dispenser is very cool, as I use the tape a lot for various things I find it prettier than those found in stores, looking forward to discovering other achievements made with this great machine 👍

Cris, that is, without a doubt, the most beautiful tape dispenser I have ever seen! I wish you could sell these in The States. I have looked for weighted tape dispensers in the past, and the only one I could find was, A) extremely ugly, and B) extremely expensive for what you get. Taping things will now be a joyful exercise for you! Well done!

Use spacers to lift your material up off the honeycomb a bit to prevent the burning on the bottom from the beam getting reflected back up from the honeycomb

Just a tip that may help. You may want to run the tape under the blade and pull up to tear. That way the tape will stick to the wood first and the whole thing won't move . That's how I'm gonna do it

Loved the use of acrylic as a material. It elevated the design of the dispenser much more than I expected. Can we get a tiny apt update and build again soon if possible? (Maybe built in storage/organization for kitchen under the sink, etc) Thanks!

The beauty of owning your own (or have easy access to one) is the ability to make another prototype if the first one doesn't work. I could use Ponoko but it's very cost-prohibited if I don't get the shapes right the first time.

Instead of the cutting blade with the spikes you can use the normal razor blade or similar sharp blade which you can replace and it will cut like butter.

Great video. I noticed that your blade height on the crosscuts might be too low, causing the tear out because the teeth are likely cutting sideways on the top surface instead of downward. The angle of the blade should be coming down on the top of the board. Hold the wood to to the side of the blade and notice if the teeth are more vertical than horizontal when crossing the top of the piece. I hope that make sense.
