Did I like how my Regency dress turned out? Have I been enjoying it still, now that I am one month postpartum? Although I filmed this video before giving birth, the short answer is yes, it is working for me now in the postpartum as well. Read the blog post for more details like how I put this dress on, and how it is working for breastfeeding.

I never thought there could be such beauty in a woman carrying a child and stitching your own dress around your new dimensions. 🤰 🎉🎉Very flattering! ❤

What a sensible, tasteful approach. I'm 65-- it's been a very long time since i wore maternity clothes. Forty years ago, clothing makers were making nice maternity clothes. Now, everything seems skin-tight; very strange. So nice to see your video and hear your good sense. 👏🏆 Beautiful clothes!

Hi! I’m new to you’re channel. I started Ed learning how to make my own clothes this year, and my husband and I just found out that I am pregnant with our first child. You have inspired me to try to make my own maternity wardrobe.

I love Janet Arnold's books! I have fibromyalgia and love wearing regency dresses for reenactment events because they're so comfortable. I've eyed this specific pattern but never made it because I couldn't figure out how it came together. Now I have a better idea. Thanks for the video!

I've always loved this dress (from Patterns of Fashion), too! It's on the (probably huge) mental list of things I would like to make someday.

I think this will work well for me, post-abdominal surgery for NET. Thank you for posting this! My US Civil War era dresses are too uncomfortable across the waist; I can't wear my corset for same reason. I'm large busted and miss the support from the corset.

Katherine every time I see something you do I'm convinced you were born in the wrong time. I myself miss the old days, because things were alot simple. Food was better for you people were alot more families geared . Clothes and shoes were made better. I love your channel

So how did you do the sleeves? E.g remove and attach? I am looking for this pattern so I can try to make my own.

You said the long sleeves were removable; could you show that? That would make it more useable from season to season.
@KatherineSewing
@KatherineSewing Год назад
Yes, the long sleeves overlap slightly with the hem of the short under sleeve and are simply whip stitched in place, which is easy to undo.:)

You can cut out front of jeans and sew in a tee shirt type or double knit material in half circle works...wrap around skirt works too.
