Hey! I'm Katherine, and I create historical, natural hair care videos, and historical hand-made fashion videos. I share the tips that I have personally used to grow my hair from chin to hip length, as well as how I sew my historical, vintage-inspired wardrobe.
I have made your recipe for myself from your videos. It has been about a year and I have noticed a difference. I light blonde hair and fhe henna leaves to colour behind.
I cut my hair when I was 16 and it's never grown back thick the way it was. And I'm sorry, but no amount of this or that is gonna make it grow again. Take care of your hair, people!! I miss mine!😢
Omg! I do all of these things and my hair is longer than it’s ever been! We’re very similar. I’ve never “met” another person who does this and I get flack from my family all the time for telling them to stop putting chemicals on their bodies 😅😂 this is awesome!! Keep it up!
Hi! In my experience I made a spiritual commitment to start covering my hair with a hijab turban or bandana. After three years of this commitment my hair has grown so long and has become healthier than ever! If you look even further back in history you'll see how everyone even men covered their hair for spiritual protection but I wouldn't doubt they knew it came with benefits for the hair as well✨
My Grandmother who was born in 1897 washed her waist length hair once a month as a teen. They had no plumbing and she would collect rain water since their well water was so hard. It was a huge deal to wash and dry it. In between she would brush it 100 strokes to get the oil from the top to the bottom of the hair. She was happy to cut it all off in the 1920’s!
It's hard to take the excerpt at 30:26 seriously when it reccommends mixing the egg yolks with HOT water (which will cook the egg) and AMMONIA which has about the same pH level as bleach...
Thank you. I am and have always been an individual...a person who doesn't follow the fads, a person whose reason for doing pretty much everything is because I like it and how it makes me feel about myself. It has nothing to do with anyone else. After seeing a few of your videos I decided to use the boar bristle brush and Scalp Hero...oh how I love them! I'm in my mid 50's and dye my hair because I don't like me gray. This activity, past surgeries, health issues and my age have left my hair partly frizzy (I have curly/wavy hair naturally) and I wanted to "heal" all of that damage. This new routine has and is still bringing life back into my hair and that makes me feel better about myself...not to mention the relaxation the routine gives me. My hair is just passed my shoulders and like you, more than not I wear it up. So again, thank you for being you and letting people know it's okay to not conform to societal norms. God bless you!
I dont know if it had anything to do with my long hair as a child but mum would brush my hair 100 times in the morning and 100 times at night. It certainly made it extremely shiny. Also I had to have a spoonful of cod liver oil every night which mum said would make my hair grow long and thick. Which it certainly was. But to start the growing process mum cut my hair super short. Like a little boy . I remember crying my heart out but my hair did seem to grow very quickly after that. I'd be interested to know if these were considered good hair growing techniques or did I just have a mad mother?
That is so amazing! I wish that I could have someone help me do that for the first time. I love my long hair even though it is somewhat difficult to take care of. It sounds like you put even more effort in hair care than I do, but it is obviously worth it!
Not everyone actually can grow hair as long as some people. I would love to have longer hair than my nearly waist-length hair, but it just won't happen. ;)
Yep, makes sense just like locs. Hair grows faster when dirty... But you still need to wash ur a**. That's crazy. That's why THEIR ancestors taught them that the water that runs off ur head, "washes" ur body. Disgusting. Where is the body care manual? You have periods and sex smh eeeewww but we get talked about smh
Honestly I just wipe my scalp with water daily and maybe once every two weeks use shampoo. I just try to keep my scalp from being to oily but I don’t like shampoo on my hair. It dries my hair too much
I’d rather have nice looking shorter hair than long hair that gets tangled and in the way of doing activities. There’s nothing desirable about hair that’s too long
Just look at Pentecostal religions where women don’t cut or trim their hair. Very common for young girls to have waist length hair. My mother in law if over 80 and has waist length hair. My hair was to the back of my knees in just 13 years of not cutting my hair at all and I was in my 30’s-40’s.
