The Sims 3: Late Night introduced the celebrity system so I decided to speed run it. Turns out, power goes to my head very quickly.

Trapping Odine in the bathroom was a beautiful, albeit unintended, act of divine justice. Though to be fair Reuben should've been put in there too.

If you want to befriend a sim without risking an interaction fail you can spam text message them.

This video was SO ENTRETAINING 😂😂😂 I loved it! It's particularly interesting because, like, I don't really like the fame system in The Sims 3, it is way too easy, plus, it bothers me how you mostly aren't famous by what you do, but by the friends you make, besides, I think it's not worth it, I mean, what exactly your sims get for being famous? Random stuff that show up also randomly in your inventory? I kinda wish it was more difficult, as in, harder to get to the top, but once my sims do get to the top, there would be good enough benefits, so I feel their grin (and also my grind as a player) was more worth it... Nonetheless, this video was VERY FUN, and I loved how you were able to play the game seeing its issues, as simple quirkiness or laughed it off and hence, you didn't seem bothered by those things, besides the whole fame thing, another example of this is how everyone finding your sim attractive was funny and not a problem... I wish I could play The Sims more like you in that way 😀 Anyways, it was truly great! Take my like

Ah yes, while The Sims:Superstar took near an eternity to reach 5⭐ celebrity status, Sims 3:🌃 was easy peasy lemon squeezy. Take for instance, my sim was shy, a bookworm, and a loner, who never left her apartment, nor had parties, still reached celebrity status from writing books. I do not really care for any of the celebrity systems of The Sims, Sims 3 & 4. However, I love Sims 2:Apartment Life's reputation system, beginning with Average Cabbage: -19 to +19, to Dubious Delinquent: -20 to -39 or Amicable Acquaintance: +20 to +39, to Lousy Loser: -40 to -59 or Reputible Resident: +40 to +59, to Malodorous Menace: -60 to -79 or Distinguished Do-Gooder: +60 to +79, to Dirty Dirtbag: -80 to -99 or Prominent Personality: +80 to +99, to Sleazy Slimeball: -100 or Sociable Celebrity: +100. I like all the perks and benefits, as well as all the negative consequences, far better than the other Celebrity systems. As for asking for autographs, townies and NPCs will autonomously ask, with no rabid fans (The Sims:Superstar), no having to go to court to be compensated for character defamation (Sims 3:Late Night), and no more annoying paparazzi (the other 3), to infest all my neighborhoods. Depending on Sims personalities, interests, social interactions, one could easily stay under the radar as an Average Cabbage, or flip flop between extremes. Ergo, the likelihood of my extremely shy sim (as well as equally nice), becoming a Sleazy Slimeball is near impossible. I guess I like that this system is not as invasive, yet is cohesive with sims' personalities, aspirations, interests, wants/fears, etc., far better than any other iteration. Also, with Sims 2:Apartment Life, came social groups, which became your apartment neighbors, and could be interacted with, in the semi-open world. They could be your co-workers, roommates, free babysitters, and so much more. Living in apartments in Sims 2, gave us a taste of what was yet to come in Sims 3, being able to see the coming and goings of your neighbors, without any loading screens.

Writing books doesn’t give you fame in The Sims 3.
@TheMya1988
@TheMya1988 Месяц назад
@@pavladavlas Writing the books themselves did not give my sim celebrity status, but writing biographies of celebrities, restaurant and movie/show/concert/game/etc. reviews, opportunities, etc. all will have an impact on celebrity status. If you actually look at some of the traits to help achieve celebrity status, you will find bookworm and artistic among them, which my author sim had.

@@TheMya1988 also not true. I’m currently playing a sim who is a writer, has written over 60 books (most of them hits or bestsellers) and has made well over 100k at this point - never gained even a single point towards fame from writing, not even when she was in the journalism career reviewing pretty much everything there was to review. Her daughter has a lvl 10 painting skill and has also made over 60k just off of painting at this point - no contribution toward fame from that, either. The only trait in The Sims 3 which affects fame gain is Star Quality. Are you sure you’re not confusing things with The Sims 4? If I remember correctly, both writing & painting contribute to fame there.

@@pavladavlas I am definitely not confusing TS4 with TS3, as I do not even own the Get Famous pack, nor do I play the game very often. I can tell you that there are certain Worlds (even if you have LN installed), that are less likely to give celebrity points to any premades, unless you use mods to do so. For a good period of time, we could not even turn off the celebrity system, except by not installing LN (that was when it got most out of hand). Do you give your author and artist the "Opportunistic" LTR? That is where they will gain the most star recognition. That LTR is what triggers doing biographies for Sims (often a celebrity), can even get opportunities for doing commercials, writing reviews, etc., which often reward Sims with star power. It is not just limited to authors and artists, but also anglers, gardeners, culinary chefs, criminals (especially the evil branch), etc. While having the "Star Quality" trait will definitely speed up celebrity status quickest, having the "Opportunistic" LTR (especially if your sim accepts every opportunity), will speed it up, even without having "Star Quality." I am currently working on a comparison project, TS2 Personality vs. TS3 Personality, ergo I am doing a deep dive into every aspect that impacts personalities (including TS3's Celebrity System vs. TS2's Reputation/Social Class System). Perhaps if you shed a bit of info into which world you play, if you do use "Opportunistic," accept all opportunities, play with LN installed, and if there are any celebrities within your world, I might be able to explain why your Sims are not gaining celebrity status. Oh, and which mods you use (if any), and whether you actually allow for celebrities? I often turn them off, because the paparazzi gets extremely annoying.
