@@malegria9641lmao what? AJR sounds nothing like Radiohead. You clearly have never heard Imagine Dragons then if you think AJR sounds like Radiohead. Imagine Dragons sounds way more like AJR than Radiohead does
@@malegria9641 have you… have you heard any Radiohead song before? Or are we thinking of different Radioheads 💀 as a fan of both, AJR is very poppy and has bright, clear instruments in their songs, while Radiohead is darker and spookier and goes heavy on the distortion and such.
I love AJR. I saw them in concert and it was an absolute blast. and i cried. I relate to them on a lot of growing up and dead dad shit and dealing with the aftermath of that. I have so much admiration for Adam for getting a phd in human rights and the work he does. you don’t have to like them. i hope you have music that makes you feel seen and less alone too. it does not have to be AJR. I also love Dev. I’ll keep watching.
Oh god as an AJR fan this video was absolutely hilarious. The references to Joe kept making me hysterically laugh. Idk if you are an AJR fan but this is a really fun video.
12:02 I lost it the moment you got pissed that it actually sounded kind of good 😂 Also, I’m an AJR fan. Totally agree with your assessment of them, except I’m actually into their weird whimsical shit lol
i’m not a huge fan of their newer stuff but i actually got to see AJR live when they were opening for We The Kings back when the spongebob song was just going viral - for not knowing any of their music, the energy and show was pretty unmatched for an opener at the time. very weird yet enthusiastic energy, the crowd loved it because you could tell they were having so much fun performing before they even became well known. now, in hindsight, i realized i enjoyed that concert so much bc i never heard anything they did really prior so watching them do the sample board live and dance around was silly yet wholesome and entertaining.
Lmao as an AJR fan, I love what you did in this video! I appreciate the whole “cool it on the trash talk” part too, but I absolutely understand why not everyone likes them. I think you put it best, they just do wild stuff, but it’s true that wild isn’t for everyone. This video was incredibly entertaining and hilarious, you just gained a new sub/viewer tbh😂
it is hard to see them get slandered, but you just have to realize everyone has different taste ig. some are respectful and some ppl aren't. loving the new album tho, im going to the tour in april
I absolutely love ajr as a concept and I'm so glad they exist, it's such a good mix of classical instruments and marching band esque sounds it ends up so fun and musical like imo, all that combined with a sort of bombastic pop sound is so fun !!!!! so so fun !!!
I love the idea, but the ONE thing i would change is to wait until the very end to show the beat. Like when you add a loop, play just the loop, or when you're tracking the vocals, only play the vocals.
went to an ajr concert like 2 years ago and it was awesome! they are really good performers one of the best concerts I’ve ever been to (behind dev of course)
i used to unironically love ajr some 3 years ago but i kind of just grew out of it... this video made me actually go and listen to their songs again and they do have some good songs
ive loved these kinds of vids since u and nick did some on queef jerky and this was SUCH an out of body experience. love it so much good job. i might have to actually get twitch if you end up streaming these 😭
as a huge ajr fan i was crying laughing the entire time - i totally get that their music isn’t for everybody but if this kind of stuff gets produced from it i don’t think anybody’s complaining 💀
I love this concept so much, I think the only thing needing improvement is singing like the artist in a way. Like Eminem has the like freestyle playing off like "I just thought of the next line" to him while ajr is like the average middle schooler trying to make their first song. In these two so far it's still the same kind of singing as in queef jerky. That's just my thought, but great video! You captured their essence almost perfectly.
Sicc video, Develmon! I could feel the whackiness flowing through my energy channels. Thank you! P.S. Would personally love to see your attempt at Korn or Oliver Tree.
ok but real question: why do people dislike (or actively make fun of) ajr? i really do not get it. like, i actually enjoy it. i think their music is really original
Over the years, I've been forced to listen to their music by both friends and family of mine, to the point where I decided one afternoon to sit down and actively listen to all of their albums in a single setting to get my genuine thoughts on them as a band overall, this was roughly around the release of "Neotheater". Overall, I find their sound to be extremely boring and repetitive, with my main issue with their music being that it is exceptionally overproduced(this isn't always a bad thing, listen to "Second hand embarrassment" by "underscores" for an example), and that their instrumentation and production in their music is repetitive and messy. The worst part for me is the fact that their lyrics are so naive and corny to the point where at some points it feels like actual parody of the stuff they make, but they are entirely serious. To summarise my opinion: I feel like AJR are an emotionless, branded, flashy pop group, only here to make earworms that record labels will deem """Cool""" and put on the radio. I don't expect everyone to like interesting music, but I just find AJR's music to be absolutely mind-numbing. Music is an entirely personal thing, and don't let me cramp your style if you like them, but I hate how much I am forced to listen to them.
@@astrologia4968my most favourite piece of music of all time is "don't throw out my legos". I actually think the intro is just so perfect. all these different instruments and sounds make this melody very unique. I just love it!
4:35 "Is that childlike enough?" *plays intense piano evoking sense of impending doom* Also, thank you for your effort to spread some positivity and civility in the world of music discourse! People forget too often how to have constructive and substantive conversations about their music preferences, and it makes our echo chambers so much worse.
Can you do some underground artists like xaviersobased phreshboyswag or bladee or something crazy. Mostly for me but you'll definitely get some good traction from them (the community sucks though but you can just ignore them). ((Im convincing you with my mind powers))
Here's an idea for streaming this, you can get a capture card for the PC and use the PC as a dedicated streaming PC and just use the capture card to capture the display and sound from the Mac.
I feel like it went too hard into the silly noises because ajr usually has a solid/basic base for the silly noises to be on? I think the silly noises would be less and more spaced out? But idk, idk anything about music 💀
