Well nice build but.... You kind of ruined it with the soda can. The Sharp edges where you cut it made it possible for the majority of charge to escape. It will produce much more charge if you just get 2 aluminium bowls and glue them together.

Hi Syeda, Great questions. Refill is the ball point pen refill tube. Good catch on the electrical fuse, pvc pie and the t connector. I didn't use those. The fuse wire could have been used but i avoided it in the final build, while the pvc pipe and the T connector could be used to create the base for the bottle, but i decided to use a cardboard box in the actual build. Hello Barsha, Firstly check whether the wires are touching the insulated tape belt properly. Insulated tape works very well alternatively you could try a flat rubber band or a belt made of nylon cloth.

Hey! Good catch. I missed it, To answer your question, a "refill" is the replaceable ink tube of a ballpoint pen. An empty tube in this case is ideal...Hope that helps! #HappyBuilding

Was the motor working before? Did you check the wiring? Is it's movement getting obstructed? the tube or piping hole might be too tight? or the tape loop might be too tight? Could be because of too much friction?

This is lame. You're not actually generating current from static. What you need to do this, is three different insulators, the "belt" being between the electronegativities of the two electrodes, and you need to hook a load resistor between the two electrodes.

It requires a bit of minute adjustments with the belt and can clearance. Since it is static electricity, it gets discharged really fast as well. Make sure you are in a relatively neutral ion environment / space... Hope that helps. #HappyBuilding
