Congrats. I still have the Xbox slim I made back in the day but I did it the hard way by cutting down the existing case, installing clear windows, LEDs, etc. Didn't have a 3D printer back then, lol.

This would definitely sell more than the nintendo ones. Maybe give it online multiplayer functions for games like halo, and it would sell like hotcakes. Especially if it was easy to mod like every other mini console, then they'd maybe even corner the emulation market bc that would be able to run gamecube games

The mod you may want to do next is replacing the video out with an on board HDMI (they sell a kit that fits the hole). I saw the caps and GPU heatsink change and was like he switched boards!, then read your description lol.

I had a quick question on this being a 1.6 motherboard and I see you only used 4 wires to connect as the power supply input and was just wondering on which points you put which power too I'm currently trying to make my own supply but cannot figure out with which points I need to be using and I would very much appreciate it very much and I'm not looking to steal your design or anything just tryna get my old one back to life

Cool project I was looking for stuff like this. I hope Xbox will make this but I doubt it because of backwards compatibility and that it probably is not considered old enough to be nostalgic enough to og fans yet since it was released in the early 2000’s but it would still be a blast from the past even for people like me that didn’t get to play the og Xbox.

My only worry would be using a step up and step down converter for power. Those cheaper units can have problems maintaining a stable voltage above certain power loads. That exact step up converter is one I've used before and is a serious fire hazard if you don't attach some form of heatsink. Having no DVD drive could also be an issue for some. Not every Rom you find online works and my personal xbox hates FTP so I'd have to transfer those through USB or burn a physical disc. Also. For those willing to attempt this at home, you'll have to add in your own steps to mod your XBOX to support HDMI natively. The official component cable packs are ridiculously expensive now.

RU-vid. (Imagine tho, Microsoft making an Xbox Mini where there are 3 versions released to the public: a stock version w/ up to 4k support on 1 or 2 games, mainly SOT), a homebrew development version with a full dev tool kit on the bigger hard drive) and a version pre-soft modded by Microsoft out of the (x)box w/ bigger than stock storage and all models come with an Xbox controller to USB adapter)

Very nice work, more of an Xbox light than a mini but still a cool mod.

can't really make it much smaller while still using original hardware lol. I personally wouldn't have soldered to the pins of the power connector, and instead populated the required pins on the original plug. and with your skills i'll bet if you put a little more time into that power converter board you could shrink that down rather significantly too. Hope to see you doing some bigger and more advanced projects in the future, good luck.
