Oh my gosh I can't even believe how intricate and complicated this is. I was in complete awe the entire time I watched. This was one of my dream costume projects, but seeing how difficult this was, I don't think I'll ever have the sewing skills or the patience to make something like it XD. It's so lovely. Absolutely perfect.
You can! Sewing seems so hard at first, but you get better each time. I’ve been sewing for a year and my work has done a 180 since my first project. I’m making the little mermaid live action inspired dress and followed her tutorial for the bodice. Idk if mine looks quite as good as hers, but it worked out. Ariel’s dress has the shirred middle part of the bodice like Cinderella’s. I’m obsessed with the shirred bodice I wanna make another just on its own when I’m done with my dress.
Yay!! I’ve been looking forward to this!! I know this was a HUGE labor of love to produce but I’d be so tempted to wear this every single day! Cooking, cleaning, running through open fields…
First of all, the dress looks beautiful on you. For a dress that was supposed to be a day/working dress it is very complicated and detailed. Lovely.💙💙💙
I thought the washed out colours, especially in the print, implied that it was something old. I thought the dress had been handed down or had been made new for her but the entire budget for the household's clothing was used up by the jewel tones silks Cate Blanchett wore, so she ended up keeping it for a long time and with a lot of washing it looked worn and faded after washing it so many times.
When smocking or gathering or pleating a lot of fabric we used to hide darts to make the pieces less bulky. It also helps to shape things and still keep the grain horizontal.
Your passion for Cinderella, your perfectionism and willingness to make a dress again and again until it's perfect, for all her various dresses reminds me of my own obsession with Sailor Moon. I admire you.
Congrats on finishing the dress! The pleating on the skirt is very impressive. My hands are cramping up and my eyes hurt just from thinking about sewing that many pleats.
I’m so happy RU-vid decided to pop this video in my feed.. My English isn’t good enough to express how amazed I am with the work that you did here.. I’m at the very beginning of my sewing learning journey, but watching this.. i mean wow this is where I want to get to… Thank you so much for sharing this and inspire me so so much! Im subscribing !!!
It came out so lovely! If you're still looking for fun ideas with the photoshoot, I think it would be fun to do the shoe loss that happens in the 1950 version! It would be a great chance to show off the shoes :)
So many skills involved in the creation of this dress all came together beautifully. I know that this is a day/working garment, but that dress deserves to be seen at a wedding reception or gala. Adding pink heels, hair up, sparkling earrings or hair clip is all that would be needed.
Made in crystal organza with lace and lace and satin shoes with pearls and flowers it would look lovely on a bride butterflies scattered over the dress too 🩷🩷🩷🩷😔😲
I find it encouraging to know that a professional can learn from mistakes in time to correct them. It seems obvious that this happens, but it's nice to see that truth not "covered up" for the sake of vanity. It's easier for me to understand now why my great-grandmother included a modesty stitch in her sampler; it kept her personality as beautiful as her work.
Truly your sewing has been a labor of love. I have loved watching both the Breathtaking Blue gown come to life and the Work dress. Bravo to you, you are a very talented seamstress indeed.
Hehe, it's amazing! I can't wait to hear your announcement of getting hired by Disney to make all of the most lovely dresses and gowns. An offer has to be coming soon.
I am in utter disbelief and awe at your expertise and dedication… I love watching and listening to all the technical terms and techniques that you use. What a masterpiece! It looks identical to the original! Well done!
@@BellaMaesDesigns it's fine, I sow myself so I completely understand how long it can take mean I work on miniature doll clothes and some outfits take me a couple days to complete so for bigger more complex stuff I understand. Hey it was 100% worth the wait! 💜
You are so amazingly talented. Not to mention the patience it must take. I think this is my favorite dress you have made to date. Yes, even more than the ball gown. Great job!!
I love that you include the "and then I ripped it all out and had to completely re-do that part" moments, they can be so discouraging but they really are a part of most projects and it's really important to share them and that they can be overcome!
This is incredible!! Thank you for taking us along this process. I've always loved this dress and this behind the scenes knowledge will come in such handy! Beautiful job Miss Bella!
oh my goodness... I have been waiting for this for YEARS (since you first posted a breakdown of the dress on your blog years ago!!) and i cant believe we're finally here!! I have enjoyed watching you make these dresses SO much, i almost don't want this series to end! but i also cant believe how happy i am to see how much progress has been made and how talented you are!!
Wow...hats off....such a dedicated work...really happy to see you wear it... nothing much to say it's simply superb ...loved it a lot...I was just waiting....to see the outcome.❤️
It is really beautifull, i just have a feeling it was suppose to be a tad bit darker. But it really looks like a dress you could just wear everyday, at any time, for any occasion. Very beautifull done.
You are one talented young lady!! This project reminded me of me making my wedding gown. I fell out of love with hand sewing after that! Looking forward to what you do next!
While I will never attempt a project like this, I am in awe of your work. I'll also admit that the waist pleating work felt painful to watch and hear you ripped it all to to redo it better. I totally understand, but all that delicate hand work ... . And, I never knew there was such a thing as a smocker, let alone seen seen one in action. Learned lots.
How is this possible??? I have always thought that dresses in movies were unrepeatable, and not only you made the perfect exactly copy of one of the best dresses in the history of humanity, but now you nailed the underrated one. I'm just amazed. You are incredible.
Okay for real. I. NEED. To make this! it looks so pretty! You’ve done such a very good job! And the hard process really did it’s job! I am definitely going to make this dress and wear it every single day for an eternity!
I don’t really sew but I was mesmerized by your video. Too beautiful for a housework dress. I’m going to look at the shoes website now. Thank you so much I enjoyed the time spent watching you work.
This dress and your expert execution of it is really mind boggling! I absolutely adore those delicate pleats and how it makes the waist so fantastic... I've never seen anything like it... You're a sewing engineer!!!!! I saw the apron video first and noticed those pleats but now that I see it without an apron you can't cover it up!!! I'm in awe of everything you did to make this gorgeous recreation. Soooo talented and you look like Cinderella to boot! Now I know what to do with that pleater I've never used and all thanks to you. I don't mean I'll make that dress .... But I'll figure something out. Thanks for the great inspiration!🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
what a beautiful dress ... when finished it looks so "simple" but is so complex ... it's such a wearable dress I do hope you use it in an everyday setting
wow!!! i absolutely love it! im so impressed its absolutely gorgeous and so well sewn! the colour also looks amazing on you! i love calling it either the kit dress (for when she meets him in the woods) or the dilly dilly dress (speaks for itself but mostly for the end scene where shes singing in it :)). the whole thing was so well done and the part where you took out all the pleats really wowed me at the precision, determination and quality you put into this! bravo!
You are such a beautiful young lady with such amazing talents! Every little detail so precise, and the finished dress is superb. It may be based on a fairytale, but this dress is totally wearable. You would truly turn some heads. My inner Cinderella has been stirred up. Love your videos. Thanks for making my day😊
