I really loved Immortelle! The story is wholesome and sad, as if no-one remebers who the person was... So, I agree that with more effort and time it could actually become a fun little platformer-like game! I actually could imagine someone making a full game of it! (Hope Gunther has a second date)
Immortelle feels like a very nice experience, light-hearted but greatly emotional, everything I love to see in small indie games. reminiscent of Milo and the Magpies in tone.
I've been developing a 100% science-based, all-dragon MMO for the last 2 years in Scratch. Seriously though your videos really are something to look forward to. Production values off the charts, super entertaining.
I used to really enjoy using Scratch like 6 years ago, you're making me feel old now T_T Also holy heck you're talented, writing songs for every game you did was super cool!
Suggestion for immortelle: Add possession so if you are invisible and if you are touching maybe a bunny and you press the P key then you become the bunny.
@@emeralgamedev Thank you for acknowledging my comment, And a suggestion for chicken slapper is that once you get a live chicken you keep slapping it for the pressurized water hose and then reverse the process as you cut it back to it's simple state.
Finally some that is nice to scratch! I have coded in scratch for 4-5 years and a technical scratcher (stuff like simulations, math, bugs, and more). So thanks :D
Very entertaining! I would be interested in seeing how you approach coding certain things but honestly your content is entertaining as it is so I don't mind.
i have no idea why, but your compositing for the intro was soooooo charming and full of personality and made me go WTF CUTE SUDDENLY I NEED TO STAY AND SEE HIM SUCCEED!!! wonderful vid +1 for algo
First: you're one cool dude to take on a random challenge and ALSO doing music for it! Second: the wrap-up was 100% worth the price of entry. The best.
For anyone who wants to be a video game designer when they grow up but no nothing about coding. Start with Scratch. It may seem a bit complicated at first, but just mess around. Have fun. Experiment with different things. Watch tutorials but try to use the Scratch provided ones as they will be easier for beginners and are better to watch first before you watch more complex ones on youtube, just play around with blocks and what they do, and I promise you will learn it. Once you learn Scratch. You'll know the basics of coding and be a lot more ready for bigger game engines.
@emeralgamedev Yeah, Scratch is awesome! The only 2 things I dislike about Scratch is that 3d game making is super limited. Also, jumpscares aren't allowed. Even if you put a warning or have them toggled off by default, they still aren't allowed on Scratch. Which is why I'm trying to make a 3d Horror Game on Unity. It's a lot more complex than Scratch and I'm stuck on making a first person player work.
kinda wild that you reference clicker games, but didn't mention cookie clicker! imo it's one of the best and is such a fantastic example of one that's *really* satisfying to play. great video btw, rly interesting little games too!
can you please answer this question for me considering you mentioned using Unity I’m trying to learn to code but found it difficult and when I’m learning from cs50 Harvard they also mentioned to start with scratch the mit program
You touched raw chicken with your bare hand for the content. I respect it. Also I, too, associated Scratch with being a kids' thing since I was forced to use it in middle school. (~2008)
You'r game's look pretty solid. But I recommend some optimization. ( It' not a hate comment or something just a tip ) Like instead of using a lot of sprites for each textbox you could have only one and a variable called IDK, DialogNumber wich is 1 when the project starts and You would just set the costume to The DialogNumber * 2 - 1 and Create a clone wich is just selects the next costume. This is just a tip but it's much better for preformance. :D Really nice video either way.
@@emeralgamedev Recreating a Resistance 2 co-op mission or creating offline Resistance 2 multiplayer with bots, would it be possible to do something like this please?
Oh my god 3.0 feels so weird to look at LOL. The position of the stage/buttons, the 3.0 colors/sizes, the sprite properties not being collapsible, not seeing the icons to change the rotation style there, the 3.0 blocks, not having the draggable sprite checkbox, etc.
When I tell employers that I'm a Pro Scratch Developer I never hear back from them. They must be too scared to hire someone clearly superior to them in every way.
Ahahah i remember back in 2017, I’ve created a version of pong in scratch for school (I was 13) with power and countdown for these. I know it is not very difficult to make but i was so proud of myself 😭
I think just don't be afraid to start a drawing. The first versions of all my pixel art are really rough, but I just keep messing with them until they start to look good!
