I have never heard the original. But I choose to believe this is the better version of whatever it could be trying to imitate. The chorus lead "alarm" instrument reminds me of Alors On Danse by Stromae. They sound nothing alike, but just the general vibe of that short horn being the main focus for the melody has me grooving a bit.
