I made law review at Stanford Law School after transferring from Penn (where I also made LR)! this is so validating of my deservingness to be in these spaces. not many people make law review twice :')
the journey is never as glamorous as the destination, so I like to show that part too. leave questions and comments below!

Congrats! That is super impressive!!! Impressive, that is, if Stanford and Penn Law Reviews' do not consider race, reserve a certain number of spots for URMs, or use backdoor ways of considering race (e.g., my school's law review claimed not to consider race but they would allow personal statements, make explicitly clear it was okay for applicants to reveal their race in such statements, and then the executive boards would make explicitly clear that they personally consider race in making admission decisions, so race really was a decision making criteria despite formally not being one). Unfortunately, until such systems are remove from schools, and affirmative action admissions are truly eliminated (no one believes these law schools are going to give up easy, facially neutral but racially discriminatory admissions criteria are already in the works), your accomplishments are always tainted with the doubt that you did not really earn them. No one on Earth has it easier than a black woman in an American law school.

Who’s tainting my accomplishments, you? I ask because it’s surely not me, nor jobs, nor judges, etc etc. Respectfully, Brandon, your frustrations are irrelevant. I am sorry you did not make your law review. I hope you continue engaging with diverse perspectives!
