My latest deck is Springans. Since they decided to add the new support, I decided to get more into it. Now I realized that it can actually destroy your opponents board really easily. I love it.
Springans are fun! It can combo really well; Machine Duplication has 3 possible monster targets for it including an 8 star too getting 3 copies of it. I enjoy the deck; most of my decks were built 60 cards but recall 1 of the several did do 40 cards. Rank 4 Time Thief Redor made it mean. My friend before quit dueling hated fighting this deck of mine. I hated his Spirit Charmer Deck thus the way he built it lost to my Normal Monster only Deck as no effects can't be negated with 2,000 beat sticks 4 stars every Monster and ways to boost atk with Spells it somehow worked lol. A bad deck might be bad competitive vs many decks but it can have a specific deck's number.
Put your palm on the base at the front of the boulder, and use your other hand to pull, and pull back the top with the other. Easiest way to open one up.
Looks like Paul and I share a similar taste in decks. IRL I have Scare-Brigade, Labrynth, Floo and Exosisters. I've been looking at building casual Witchcrafters for a long time too.
Same, but I have Lab and Floo (first decks I built after getting into Yugioh again last year, from not having played since 2010 or so), made Witchcrafters after getting MAMA, but want to build Scare-claw and Exosisters as well. Meanwhile, Ninja looks fun and I got most of the cards in PHHY and DABL, so I'm making another. I feel like I have a problem.
@@grodon909 Haha! Dude! Looks like you and I got out of the game at the same time, and got back into it around the same time too. Last time I played was around 2011, and I got back into it in 2020 around when Phantom Rage was released.
To pull off Boulders, you hold the bottom half with one hand, thumb at the front by the crease and middle/index finger at the other side (palm should be on the bottom most part). Then you hold the top half with your other hand, thumb at the crease and middle/index finger at the back (palm on the top most part). With both hands, you pull it apart from the front. It's the easiest way due to the grooves on the sides designed to lock the top and bottom together. Best way I could describe the opening process is like opening a book from the side where the seam is the furthest away from you. It's hard for me to effectively demonstrate or elaborate this effectively, but I hope it helps at least a couple people who have had problems opening Boulder deck boxes.
You're going to have alot of fun with the Scareclaw Tri-brigade deck once you finish it. Trust me I have my own build of it and it's really fun to use.
I love the Boulder deckboxes. Quick tip that made my life easier was figuring out how to open them. You actually hold it with the bigger side on top and use both thumbs to "push" the top part towards the back. Love the videos, man. Glad to see you putting a more concentrated effort on the main channel growth. You deserve all the success. :)
playing madolche from the start of the archetype, my favourite! i have all the cards of all versions and uptades it had in times (from spell striker, to speedroids, from m-x saber, to instant fusion into karbonala warrior/fusionist, etc...)
I've always loved D/D monsters. Back before Links monsters came out I played the actual card game competitively. that's what I used. I don't play the physical game much anymore, but I still play Master Duel, and it's still my main deck, especially with the new support they got.
So small tip for opening the boulder deckboxes, if you hold them at the bottom part of the lid with your thumb, and then push back using the other fingers of your hand on the back for leverage they will pop right off fairly easily. I noticed for one of the boxes you struggled to open you actually kind of pinched the notches where the two halves clip to one another, and it kinda becomes a fingertrap scenario where the pressure you put there just makes it that much harder to remove. I love the boulder boxes. Probably the best boxes for keeping out excess moisture.
Would love to see a series that covers individual decks and archetypes! New and old, competitive and casual! In the MTG Commander community, there is the "pregame power-level talk" that players do to try to ensure a balanced gameplay experience. I'd LOVE to see y'all cover decks and rank them by power-level where they may play well with other decks in that same power-level.
I am trying to finish my Dark World deck, while building pure decks of Machina and Infinitrack. I really like playing themed decks than mixing things. I know it might not be competitive, but I'm just doing what I like. I'd like to start building a Dark Magicians deck, as I just found that they actually have received support over the years since I was a kid. I'd like to also make a Tri-Brigade, Springans, Buster Blader, and Monarch deck as well. Loved Monarchs and Buster Bladers designs as a kid, and just want to finally put them together now. Card art of the Labyrinth, Madolche, Live Twins, and Rescue also has me interested in them. Punk, Kashtira, and Swordsoul are also nice but so expensive.

To open effortlessy an Ultimate Guard deck box take it with both hands and push your thumbs through the higher part of the front. It will open instantly and without any force at all!
Same. Literally have a new deck every week for like the next two months. Vampires, charmers, ice barrier, karakuri, maybe sky striker and traptrix. Probably also geargia, but i am undecided
Currently have Purrely built, but I may have to take the Sprights out if it ends up being too much 😅. Looking at revamping Abyss Actor, Plunder Patroll, and Springans ounce PH cones out next week.
IMHO, build decks is one of the best parts of the YuGi, I really enjoy spent time comparing, searching, reading cards and try some combos and my own version with a limited budget
I kinda regret not building Scareclaw in Master Duel when I had the chance, I went for Labrynth instead, which isn’t really doing enough for me to run it on ladder without Lady of the Silver Castle. As for TCG I’ve been enjoying Rogue decks like Beetroopers, Ninjas & Plunder Patroll
As a fellow user of the Boulders I can see why opening them is giving you trouble. It's easier if you find the front and push the top part back. Had trouble with them until I started doing that. Anywho, good taste on decks; Despia is my absolute favorite deck and I *want* to build Labrynth and Exosister but just haven't had the funds because I'm trying my best to stay competitive with Despia
Went up against a Scareclaw/Tribrigade deck in Master Duel. Able to very quickly get strong link monsters out. Made me really have to think about my every move.
"It's probably an actual police officer." Shots fired my dude. Lmao. Been working on my own Despia build, but I've been loving swordsoul and shark xyz recently.
Love watching more in process deck builds or "un-optomized" builds. I think for every more competitive deck I build I build like 5 wacky or fun ones. For the Boulder boxes. Its best to open them from the front. Have the front face you, hold it in your palms and push up on the front piece with your thumbs. I remember my first time buying them and leaving my decks trapped for a few days! Hahaha.
The secret spice for Branded Despia is Triphyoverutum. Everyone plays Dark monsters, and even if they only ever have one on the field at a time, Branded Despia is swimming in Dark and it's easy enough to have two on your board + a third on the opponent's. If the opponent's playing heavier Darks it only gets better. Not to mention the OPT summon negate.
I have a pure Scareclaw deck and it's pretty fun, even if it's obviously not as powerful as Tear or even Kashtira. I like running it pure with Parallel Exceed, the Codebreaker engine and a lot of hand traps.
Hey paul you should consider Worldsea Dragon Zealantis for the scareclaw tribrigade deck! Theres a neat combo where you link over shuraig, search rescue cat, use cat to special kitt and a scareclaw and zealantis resets kitt for more link summoning
I too love to build and collect decks, I have been doing for a long time now and I currently have 38 current format decks built, all with their own complete extra deck. My next one will be Traptrix, already stared to gather those ultimates together in readiness for the structure deck! Great video Paul, thanks
Wow, one question how much do you think you invested in YGO because I've got 3 decks but none of them 100% build and it's still like 160$ worth of cards and it's like a lot for me so I'm surprised that you got that much

Scareclaw are my favorite deck on Master Duel but I honestly find the Tribrigade stuff sort of gunks it up. Like it runs amazing when it's pure and I end up winning a match so easily on MD I can actually relax instead of waiting to negate most of the time. For a 'control deck' they are surprisingly not big on omni-negates. Wish more modern Yugioh was like that. One lockdown boss that really doesn't lock down anything and bunch of cuties that make you mistake them for fiends but other than that are great for board building whatever as you close in for the kill.
I like to run aroma with just enough rikka to get out teardrop. It's really fun to play with life points. I did one game on master duel that got to turn 104 before I finally put him down.
I love seeing deck collections. That's my favorite way of collecting yugioh is building out and collecting different decks. I have currently, 21 fully built, ready to play decks, 1 in the works and I recently bought a new deck off someone and just waiting for it to arrive in the mail. So 23 decks in total? Basically, lol.
I like synchron because you're basically always building that deck. It almost never stays the same. I was building Dinos but I'm poor rn and never completed the deck, haha. As opposed to you, I am a combo deck player. Tri-brigade is the only link deck I actually like, but I have none of the cards. Won't be building it anytime soon sadly.
I'm about to start building some ygo decks (currently I own Ancient Gear and Ice Barriers, both are 3x structure decks). Not quite sure about which one should be next 🤔. I'm not interested in high competitive level ones since I'm just a casual player and want to play with friends at the kitchen table.
I just started getting into yugioh. I mostly play magic. I did play some yugioh back in the day I did have the starter decks for yugi and Joey lol. But I had no idea what I was doing I was a kid. But now I really want to get into it. I just has to get three of the cyberdark structure decks and I'm slowly over time upgrading it to be a little more competitive.
CyberDrags are a lot of fun as a rouge tier, meaning alongside friends who have not so strong decks this one is a good choice. But if the opponent plays multiple negates then you could have a problem. Else I stick with Cyberdark Enddragon as a 1st turn boss monster and then build up to get an OTK with Chimeratech Rampage dragon and Cyber Dragon Infinity, have fun and good luck
@@iyoaw4360 yeah I basically have 2 decks with them one is just three structures put together to make cuberdark end. The other is geared toward otks with those cards also has some lightning storms and droplets. I'm also interested in the trap tricks. Never heard of em when I was younger and they look adorable so I figured why not lol.
I have too many decks. Some of them are so bad that I really should take them apart, but I just can't bring myself to do it, and I keep making new ones, so they just keep piling up.
I have over 3-0 decks likely going to reach 40. Wish could play your bad decks with my bad decks; I even built a few 60 card decks with no Extra Deck just to ensure I can always have a range in tiers to have fun with all kinds of decks.
I also have multiple decks and can't stop making new one(pls help lol), right now I'm making Vaylantz and Dragonlink just need to wait for magicalibra and chaos emperor which is in shipping, but for anyone curious, I've got: - Libro Mikanko(lucky got ohime for cheap), - Dracoslayer (beyond pend got crazy but other than that everything was cheap) - Pure Scareclaw (+ waiting for manadome) - Eldlich (my first ever "competitive" deck) - Branded bystials (got 3 magna and 2 druis from 2 box of DABL) - Tear ishizu (bought maven for staples got complete ishizu and only got 2 ppp) - Go 2nd Kash pre Phhy (also got 2 fenrir from the 2 boxes of DABL, I don't know if I'm going to continue building it though or just sell it due to how expensive the support is I mean even selling all my deck still won't be able to buy them) I just love how all this deck plays out and love collecting new tech, I bought a lot of them slowly one buy one and never look back, some of my expensive deck have more to do with luck instead of what I want like kash, tear, and bystials while other I bought for cheap like vaylantz rn is very cheap and chaos space just got reprinted.
boulders are not hard to open, you just have to press the middle part to the back while holding the edges simultaneously. I own a bunch and i love them ...if you try to open them like a normal box its hard

Not much of an IRL player but I also recently made a pure Witchcrafter deck and it's a ton of fun and they've gotten quite strong thanks to Vice Madame. I love Rikka, bit too expensive because of Glamour so I'm probably never going to build a deck IRL. Sunavalon is the archetype you were thinking of, I'm also not a fan of mixing it with Rikka. Rescue ACE is the one archetype I'm not interested in in AMDE, Mikanko is decent but Purrely is the one I like the most, although it sure does need the new OCG support.
I’ve come up with a nasty labrynth strat clear the field and your opponents hand with traps and labrynth effects then yata-lock them so they can’t draw and don’t have a hand
Build them; its fun building all kinds; some are built more competitive some will be like my Red Eyes Deck not very good but built to say have 1 while others are built to a variety of reasons. End of the day if you enjoyed building it for your reasoning then that is what matters.
My latest deck is a StunLockdown deck using old school cards to stop mega plays from ever occurring. Ever tear Ishizu I’ve placed has fallen victim to the lock

That is weird how you have trouble opening your boulders. Mine don’t give me any issues with opening them when I open them in a similar position you are holding it in at 9:48. I just wiggle it back and forth until it comes off.
My 3 decks that I have built/sleeved are Lunalight, Harpie, and Swordsoul Tenyi. Currently waiting for my Mathmech deck to come in so I can sleeve it, which will make 4 decks. Also for fun fact, I would never have built Mathmech and Swordsoul Tenyi if not for me losing to and hating on Swordsoul Tenyi and Mathmech in Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel. I do want to build my own Despia deck in the future, but I also want to, at some point, experiment with Harpie Floowandereeze because I'm bored and because I can lol.
Yup sometimes we built what we lose to; or build what we never thought; never would think going to build a Dryton Deck but did and my Lunalight been busy the last few cards still sorting out what want in it. I am at over 30 decks now; many tier levels.
@@redranger8107 I see myself hitting that threshold of decks at some point, problem is I need deck boxes, dice(for counters), sleeves(inner, basic, and covers), and of course, money... As for decks I still want to build, HERO obviously for that GX nostalgia, and maybe rebuild my Quickdraw Warrior deck for the 5Ds nostalgia... people would be surprised how solid Quillbolt Hedgehog is for a generic level 2 earth machine synchro support card to this day. As Drytron... I'm still suffering from PTSD via Master Duel makes question why Konami thought that Heralds as an archetype would healthy for the game long term, but that is rant I don't think anyone wants to hear... I would wish for Verte to be Limited so that way I can actually use Greater Polymerization more easily but it had to die for the sins of Fusion Destiny and Red-Eyes Fusion... both of which I would not mind seeing limited...
I have like 30 decks, most of them extremely dated or in total disrepair, but.. recently, as my friends and I have started playing IRL again, I've been updating my Abyss Actors (in prep for PHHY), Fur Hire, D/D, Gem-Knight, and Ghostrick. Been collecting Plunder Patroll stuff, too.
Paul you should build/play Swordsoul. You used to play Tenyi all the time I remember and the deck runs those! Come to Mo Ye side, we have cookies. Synchro choco-chip ones!
I haven't made a deck in many years. Hopefully I can find my original decks which are stored away somewhere. I wouldn't mind making a modern Monarch, Amazoness, or Toon deck. The problem is I wouldn't know where to go to play casually with those decks
Amazoness just got quite a bit of good support in Darkwing Blast, and just google if there's any card shops local to you, it's your only option besides friends really.

Don’t forget to use adventure token on you’re scareclaw it’s really good because you don’t use the normal monster effect. And like you I like to build decks too, y have right 70 and if I’m not mistaken at least 50 of them era complete ( well kinda ) because I don’t have a lot of extras and I use some cards from some decks but not counting that into account they’re done.
Love seeing all kinds of decks; low tier, high tier, mid tier, just build them for fun; play with people who are not so fickle on banned cards; I'm a type to go down fighting; top decked a few comebacks; like Chess for example I would not give up; a friend had me in Checkmate his next move and my move had zero ways to stop it; but it did have 1 trick which did not stop it at all yet how could I comeback to win; why would someone skip Checkmate; it was called a blunder give up my rook to a pawn and hope would think could win right now OR could showoff beat me taking more pieces and when he took that rook I had an opening for my Bishop to slide through the crack to put him in check then next thing I knew kept having moves to put pressure until I won. This is what makes me sad people give up too easy; take the loss try to come back if you fail so what; sooner or later you will top deck from near impossible and might seem a deck can beat all decks but somewhere a deck out their is built to take it down.
This really does make me feel bad about my financial situation and the totally abusive cost of Yu-Gi-Oh in Brazil. Honestly, I regret spending so much money last year and still not being able to optimize ONE deck. It would actually cost me as much as I've spent already just for a few cards...
Exosisters are amazing I have my own exosister deck and I have a live/evil twin deck but my Exosisters is my competitive deck the twins are just for fun
I have some of these. Got Witchcrafters , Labyrinth , and Rikkas myself . Building post ban list tear. I just like the artwork although I think I'll love the play style too; wish one or two of the names were semi rather then limited, though . At least I didn't buy them months ago despite liking the artwork for a while. Starlight rare Rukallos isn't a complete wallet wipe now. You can admit your somewhat of a weeb Paul, it's fine and it shouldn't how any viewers think
I'm surprised you didn't have a Blue-Eyes, Union or otherwise Kaiba-related deck to show off since you're such a big fan of Seto. Do you have any plans to make any Kaiba-themed decks?
