As a nerd when it comes to local television opens/closes and theme packages, I have to say that this is SPOT ON!! The specific theme packages you chose for each open are era-appropriate and you have a legitimate natural screen presence that goes beyond acting.

You bet! These are pretty much right on the level of detail of the real stations (WABC in NYC, and KABC in L.A. [you apparently drew inspiration from both of them]).
Great work, each of these are interesting dioramas in time, with clothing, hair, audio and graphical layers evolving forward. Joanne’s hairdo metamorphosis is too real 😂
I think that is honestly my favorite part. Overall - yes, it was really fun to portray the changes over time. But Joanne's hair alone takes the cake. Because anyone can relate to that.

Absolutely hilarious! I like in the U.K. so our news introductions are quite different to the ones in the U.S. However I travel to the U.S frequently with work so I really appreciate the hard work that has gone in to this. Yes, that would be pretty incredible. Would be a lot of hoops to jump through to make that happen. They'd all have to start fairly young about the same time, they'd have to keep from moving to another market, and the station/company that owns the station would have to renew contracts without any disruption for that long. Unlikely, but we can dream.

Hahaha - it's been an ABN station for life, but they didn't pick up the logo until later. KABC didn't add the ABC logo (in its open anyway) until 1998.
This is just as great as I was hoping it would be! So much of it reminiscent of the vintage vibe I find so comforting. (Also, I'm not sure if the segment for 1994-1999 was *only* the ABC-7 Chicago music at some point, but I definitely recognized it. 😅)

0:37 is this who Andrew from “The Andrew Ball Show” really is?!?! Has he been doing double duty under an alias or have we just been blind this whole time?! I thought Mr. Huntsman was just a very good local anchor but this explains a lot. I’m surprised this didn’t become a huge scandal back in the day. Andrew must have a good PR and legal team backing him!
