@@josiahf1041 You forgot wood woods middle stage evolution; You catch a wild Wood wood, evolve it into a Rock Rock via level up, and finally it becomes Metal Metal when traded with a metal coat item (or metal cover if you will)
@@UnderworldArtist well of course, but its not available until the dlc update v6.9 is released, although i am getting excited for metal metal's mega form teased in the trailer (official name unreleased but i think its vibe vibe by the looks of it)
As someone who was not born when this game came out, and only got to playing it later (and by later I mean around 2017) even I can feel some sort of nostalgia from it, because I remember playing it when I was severely depressed, and used it as one of my many distraction tools to cope.
Bro you make me fcking cry, all these sounds makes me so nostalgic): I lost my 3DS OoT limited edition with the OoT game innit 3 years ago, i manage to buy another 3DS with the same edition but its not MY 3ds, bc i have that 3ds since it cames out, so all my hours progress, themes etc, so 10 years of my story, like photos etc that i lost, and this song of 6 seconds hit me hard, im looking forward for more songs with OoT sounds(: (Srry 4 bad english btw)
Your English is fairly understandable... (I don't know if you used a translator, but it doesn't seem to be broken and hard to understand...) > English is my first language...
Awww, Shady, it really showed you had a lot of fun doing that video, your enthusiasm was tangible ! That melody really sounded like it could be part of the game, the little button pressing melody at the beginning was such a nice touch :'') It shows you love those games ahah ! Also yes yes yes, please do a full Majora Band track !! There's nothing I love more than video game musicians playing together, you'd do a fantastic job at making them harmonise :D
Hell yea! EZ way to get me to sub immediately with a vid like this. Big ups for the breakdown! I found a detailed analysis on the composition of the game on danbruno's site and I'll definitely be doing this sometime this week. Keep up the great work!
This video was crazy fun to watch and to listen to. I dunno why hearing someone else geek out about zelda hyped me up so much, but I loved every second of this. Good work, man.
I really like this format! After a year of watching your videos, I've finally gotten into making music myself. Since I'm very new (and very bad lol), I feel like a learn a lot just from watching your vids, and using your songs as inspiration. Yeah, watching 8bit Music Theory, Adam Neely, and all those great channels explain broad musical concepts with specific examples is useful, but sometimes I find myself learning just as much, and getting inspired by, just watching you make music, or explain your thought process, even for silly little compositions like this one. Thanks :D
This was awesome! Makes me think of a quiet mountain village - maybe a variant of Kakariko. My brain is now combining this theme and the OoT Kakariko theme and it's wonderful :D
Man, so nostalgic. Feels very Serenade of Water. I’d love to try this out some time. If you’re interested in a challenge, I’d be curious to see if you can manage to write an ocarina song where the main melody only uses the 5 available notes from the game.
The only time I've gotten to stop in on a stream was when you were collecting the final Korok seeds a few months back. It was a good time, I need to stop in more
This tune should just let you be able to fast-travel to a Fairy Fountain of your choice. Maybe a title like the *Lamentation of Auras* would sound awesome! And yeah... you can tell I’m a huge Zelda nut as well.
Sounded amazing! I have no ear for music, so I'm probably wrong, but I feel like the end was one note too short? Like should have one more higher note at the very end.
sforzando is actually a musical term that means to suddenly get loud and just as suddenly get as quiet as you were before getting loud. If that didn't make any sense, it's just a BIG accent. You'd have to look up the pronunciation because I definitely can't convey it properly through text.
Sforzandos are actually a regular accent (not indicating loud then suddenly quiet, merely accenting). this is a common misconception because you see it used as "sfzp
where do i get these instruments i must know this sounds like a super cool idea and i would like to try it :D so if anyone has a link to where they are, i would really appreciate it!
This is definitely up there with your content as some of the coolest things I've seen this year. (Had to reply to your comment because it warms my heart seeing content creators I enjoy supporting one another)
the first quote of the video is already golden, that's gonna be incredible edit: sure was, especially the good guy leitmotif! it sounds extremely warm and cozy in OoT soundfont
@@Jojo2 that confirms you played the song right, I meant the Jingle that plays while link looks at the Ocarina as it Glows and it usually does a pan of the area
I see what youre referring to. When you learn zelda's lullaby, that happens, but not when you learn a temple song. Normal songs that dont teleport you do not have that same thing. They have what he recorded here. What you're referring to happens and then that linked youtube jingle plays directly afterward.
Fun fact: "sforzando" is a musical term and it's pronounced as one word, not s forzando. The symbol for it is sfz just like in the logo, and it's kinda somewhere in between a dynamic and an articulation, and it's basically just saying to play that note loudly and fanfare-like
Glad I am not the only one who knows this! Anyone else play hyperdiemension Neptunia Mk2 one of 5pb's moves is called Sforzando and an upgraded version called Rin Sforzando. AKA... the last name of a character in a story I am writing.
Another fun fact: there is a term for when a song is written in a minor key but ends on a major 1. It's called a "Picardy Cadence" or more specifically raising the third is called a "Picardy Third" Great video dude!
Honestly, i have a video suggestion: how about a "corrupted hub" theme? Imagine the main villain takes over the game's hub world, twisting it into a dangerous lair filled with familiar, yet dangerous obstacles.
I loved this. I actually got chills listening to the full song. The songs you enjoy making are the ones I like the best. Because you sound so happy when you talk about them.
(5:00) There’s actually a music term for when a minor piece ends with a major tonic chord: Tierce de Picardie (aka Picardy 3rd) i think it’s my favourite term just because it’s fun to say lol
As far as I'm aware the n64 was the first console which had it's sounds fully software driven. This means that theoretically there are no limitations to the music (except the samples can't be over 64kb or something like this). But because many composer didn't want to make completely new sample libaries, they still used the old ones from the snes. The snes had a limitation of 8 channels (sound effects included). Thus the "style" of composing continued onto the n64 and composers still used only around 8 channels and tiny samples. This is also why the music sounds so alike in snes and n64 games: they used the same techniques and the same samples ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-jvIzIAgRWV0.html | video explaining snes music making ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_DwqyDw6kHk.html | video explaining n64 music making
I grew up playing Ocarina of Time. Hearing you break down the style of those in-game ocarina songs and make your own was cool and also gave me a few chills. Good work! I'd love to hear more OoT inspired songs from you.
I suggested you do something like this many months ago lol. Glad to see you doing it! OOT might be my favorite Zelda game so it’s great to see you doing this!
Damn, that's interesting... > 3:15 - 4:10 / 6:09 - 6:35 ---> Someone could use that in custom game they're making... (Not me because I lack a lot of skills to create my own game...) > How are you going to 'link' these songs together? You've played "The Nostalgia Warp" Would you like to return to better times? > Yes > No
You coward, you should've made _Goron_Baby_Song.wav_ Just kidding brõ this is good shiet. Gonna sneak this into an ocarina of time ost and see if anyone notices. Thanks for the quality content. (:
This sounds right at home among the other warp songs/special songs from OoT/MM I think you should've tried to give it a name too! When listening to the song it made me think of BoTW's huge open fields so if we were to "add" this song into OoT as a warp song I think it should take you to hyrule field, the most open place in the game In order to name it, the established formula is: "Music genre + noun" OoT used elements of the temples for its noun while MM went in a different route, choosing a noun that relates to the song itself So since we are warping to a big open field I think "freedom" is a good choice For the "Music Genre " I don't know much about music theory, so I was considering Aria, which comes from latin "Air" which could work thematically, but apparently Arias are made to be performed by one's voice, not an instrument So I later found the Aubade, which is kinda like the sibling of the Serenade and contains elements relating to mornings and daybreak so a new day to explore a large field seems nice So, thus I propose: "The Aubade of Freedom"
It's so wonderful to see people make incredible things, even without expensive formal training, and even moreso to see them hold a torch towards the things that brought them there. Shady's one of few youtubers that feel like real people; it's a privilege to watch you, sir 🙏😌 😎👌
