I have been wanting to kitbash my own Pedro Kantor. I think the new Lieutannt with a power fist will be a good base. The way to do Dorn's Arrow using the Grey Knights storm bolter and the Gravis Captain's boltstorm gauntlet is great.
He would be a great base. I did want to use him, but on ebay he was expensive and I didnt want to buy Augustus lol. Hope this has helped you somewhat. :)
OK I wish I'd watched this before doing my own Kantor, I'd have done a few things different. But I see we also did things very similar. We both used the same base model and Grey Knight Stormbolter. However I used some more newer kits, the power fist and pteruges came from the new multi-part Lieutenant with some etched brass fist symbols for details. For his left shoulder pad I used a MK3 one but trimmed the bottom rim flat and glued on a plastic wreath and another etched brass fist. I made a balls up of trying to recreate his classic backpack so ended up using a spare from some easy build reivers and glued on the original models banner. I decided Cawl would have upgraded the Arrow of Dorn and so just glued on an assault bolt rifle ammo clip to the side of the stormbolter. I had some spare bits from a duplicate Victrix Guard sprue and so added some extra armour plates to his hips. Then finished off with some reliques, tassles and a mk7 head with wreath just to make it match the original. I've just started painting him so he'll soon appear on my social medias if you'd like to see him.
That's sick mate - surprised they haven't brought out more Primaris versions like this. Loads of random different Lieutenant variations etc but this is brilliant
He looks Awesome! Can you do a painting tutorial for this model and any generic Crimson Fists? Or at least colours and the process you used if you have time?
Very nice conversion, I'd personally not have used the Aggressor shoulder pad. It's just a bit too large, but that's personal preference. There is only one character that sword could go to, and that's Gabriel Seth of the Flesh Tearers.
Very true, but I think an old Finecast Resin model would be harder to source than a plastic model that is limited. Thank you for watching and for your comment. :)
That is such a cool finished product! I'm probably going to have to limit the amount of kits I use a bit, but the dream of a Primaris Kantor leading a squad of Sternguard seems pretty realistic now.
I would say that with the release of the recent kits, you could definitely reduce the amount of kits used and still get an awesome result. Thank you for the kind words. :)
I only have a few paints for a future crimson fists army, not really the right ones. Mephiston red instead of Khorne red, grey knights steel instead of leadbelcher, that kind of stuff. The way i figure it, as long as I have Kantor blue, im good to go!
Another good one. Be cool to see you do an Eisenhorn kit ash/conversion. Reading the series now and love the artwork but the models are all pretty lame.
I've been contemplating this for some time but using Captain Messinius instead as he already comes with an amazing powerfist but your work is incredible and so much more indepth
I actually thought of using Messinius also as I thougt it would be a good base too! I say go for it, it's always worth the try. Thank you for the kind words. :)
Such a great video, how have I only just come across your content, would definitely like to see your painting process, can’t wait to hammer through the rest of your content, great stuff !
I do want to add the painting process to my videos. I take the most amount of the time painting out of all aspect of content creation, so I would want to make 100% sure that I do the painting right and in a sensible amount of time 😅. The algorithm a cruel mistress at times haha. Thank you for the kind words. 😊
@@WePaintMinis all I no is as a hobbyist and hobby content consumer Id watch the painting process no matter the length, but I’ll still watch and support your channel either way, like I said before great job !
the only thing that i don't like is that hes primaris xd, for mine, i actually ended up using a blood angels head from the old upgrade sprew and took the blood angels iconography off. I used green stuff for his chest tassels and used toe captain in gravis armor body bc i prefer the pose over Tor's, and he looks more in line with his fellow brothers that way.
Everyone has a preference that is for sure. I personally don't think the gravis armour suits him, but have seen lots of cool version in gravis. Your one does sound cool.
Haha, to be fair that is the most I have ever used. I was planning an Ezekiel one sometime myself. Would love to see yours. Thanks so much fo the comment!
Thats a sweet conversion. That Primaris Captain is a really good base model for a lot of conversions. I got one in the conquest magazines a few years ago, finally breathed some life into it by turning it into a loyalist Iron Warrior Warsmith with some 3D printed bits. Though mine only used one Primaris Captain to make lol
Nice conversion, and if you do want to make the next vid better... That blown out audio at the very end during the call to action? Yeah, don't do that again and next vid will be better. Also, to keep with the theme, maybe remaking Lysandre with the new Leviathan termies would be sick
Thank you! Next video is already out and doesn't have that audio blow out, hopefully that is better. I missed it in my editing. 😁 I would love to use the terminators for a kitbash, I am using my own leviathan for my army, but potentially in yhr future that's for sure. Thanks for the comment. 😊
I would like to follow up the kitbashing with the painting aspect also. At this moment in time I don't have the time. You never know in the future. Also, I could possibly provide a resource for the paint jobs, a small recipe guide or something. Thank you for thr suggestions and comment. 😊
I know the feeling lol. I always come up with more ideas whilst working on my personal projects. What special models have you kitbashed? Thank you for the kind words.
Ngl, watching the total annihilation of that lieutenant body without just carefuly saving both pieces with a knife cut was hella painful Yet you got some really nice kitbash in the end!
Metal files are great to work on thick parts of plastic for sure. The sanding sticks give a little bit more flexibility and conform to the model better imo. Thanks once again and thank you for the support.
Unfortunately I do not have that footage as I didn't record it. I am adding the painting process in my next video hopefully. I just didn't have the time initially. 😕 thank you though. I am improving everytime.
@@WePaintMinis I was thinking art of the character too see exactly what your trying to copy, I know who Pedro is but I didn’t know exactly what he looked like off the top of my head! Awesome conversion and paint job tho
@@GamaniacMike14 I do put it up on the screen at the beginning, but that is a good idea. Maybe pop it up every now and again to refresh the old memory banks. Thank you for the kind words and the suggestion :)
