A way you could make th cube pass through the portal is by just putting the entire script of the portal that teleports things into an if statement that says if (other.tag) == teleportable { rest of the script here} and then add a tag to the player and cube called teleportable
@@BellFunctionZ Why did you go to a coding-related video, then to a coding-related comment, just to say the nerd emoji? Do you realize how dumb that is? The world needs less of people who do that.
Haha that is actually one of the things i focus on heavily when making these videos, Everyone seems to have a form of "ADHD" nowadays so making these quick cuts flashing videos seems to be extremely appealing to the masses I'm very glad you noticed that lol
Thank you for this video. I've watched so many dev videos but something about this video made me want to start making stuff. Right after watching this, I spent 3 hours making my first game. One day I'd love to make a portal game too.
CodyCantEatThis made a Portal 3 a while ago. Although this version is slightly better, because it looks a lot like the original Portal 1. 10:30 So god damn relatable. Sometimes I finish a game behind schedule, compile it, send it, and when I reload the page I'm 2 seconds late. ONLY 2 SECONDS! BULLOCKS
with the dark theme and the pixel-look it could be like the perfect base for a "creepy pasta" portal game where something is off and it turns into a horror portal game the more you progress. would be actually dope (do it pls)
Pretty good video, I can see you blowing up with a few more of these, but your audio balancing is really holding you back. Your voice is so quiet so I turn the volume up, but then the edit sound effects are so obnoxiously loud that I turn the volume back down, and after a couple cycles of that it's really difficult not to just quit the video. Normalize, compress, and equalize your audio (just like any free basic Audacity 101 tutorial steps would be fine) so your VO is the same volume as everything else in your video.
