I Made Some Changes to The Berrics Rail! My Favorite Rail From The Berrics Just Got Way Better!

After watching the last video, you probably saw that I mentioned making some changes to version 1 of The Berrics 5 stair handrail that I weaseled my way into. After skating version 1 of The Berrics rail for a little bit, I pretty quickly realized that while it may be proportionately correct to the original Berrics 5 stair rail, because it's a 4 stair now, it just wasn't really working to skate as I had hoped. After going back to the drawing board and pretty much starting from scratch, we made version 2 of The Berrics rail and I am SO much happier with it.

being able to rotate the ramp so you can possibly hit some up rail tricks as well sounds like the proper play if you ask me. That rail looks super fun now with the adjustments even with the short run out.

i have this crazy vision where you could move the whole mini ramp off of the wall and leave enough space to make that whole wall into a bowl styled transition section that makes it easy to ride away from the rail and also gives more options for different lines

What up! Hope you can see my vision. Overlooking the stairs. Make a 3' or 4' hip with a flat top; extend it all the way to the wall. Now on top of the hip or half pyrimid, create your wall ride section on the top of the hip. You can now skate the hip from the stairs or miniramp or go up the whoopty whoop wall ride. If you skate the hip from the mini ramp, you exit outside.

I think making it a portable/rotatable wall ride is an absolute MUST! Being able to rotate it for when you are skating the rail would not only be way more comfortable and convenient, you could then use it to to pump/turn on to skate UP the rail, and even build a little bank/kicker that fits over the stairs to make a little euro gap!

I'd ditch the vert wall from the mini ramp and either add another taller quarterpipe or something in its place. Then put the vert wall after the rail, delete a section of the stairs and add a wedge section and a ledge or something It would make skating the rail and 3 stair way more fun.

If you can do a corner bowl, you should definitely do that! That would allow you to hit the rail and do a line into the mini. But also do a line out of the mini into the bowl and hopefully have enough speed to go up the rail. It would make your park flow so much better!

You are awesome and consistent I watched the first part last night. SAME COMMENT - REARRAANGE THE MINI RAMP. Take down the half that is in the middle of the room. turn it into a spine, and put it where the little bank ramp is so that its against the wall and you have more space

That industrial shelving is pretty easy to take a part. All you need is a rubber mallet to knock the shelf’s up. More people would be easier but one alone isn’t too rough

With your recent dive into making concrete fingerboard obstacles, I really want to see you try making some real full-sized skate obstacles out of concrete for the back backyard park! Could maybe do a small bowl hip transfer in that corner to keep the park flowy. No matter what you decide, can’t wait to see you learn new things and build your perfect park!

A quick bit of advice on managing the tools you're using... get yourself a little project cart, When you start a project put your tools that you're going to need on it before you start and just make sure you always set it back on the cart which if it's got wheels can be right next to you or right next to what you're working on all of the time, it's almost like a moving table hack. I found this to be a great solution to my extremely bad habit of setting a tool down as soon as I'm done with it. Where you go, the cart goes and if you should set something on the ground you will most likely do it near the cart so that it's a simple move to get it on the cart to be moved back to its place on the shelf. I suggest getting two carts. OK, I lied.. This was not quick 🤣 I just love shop work and everything that comes with it, woodworking, welding, SWEEPING 🤣

I would recommend putting the rail partially diagonal so you could ride away towards the mini ramp exit ramp. but I have a feeling it would probably make it much harder to skate frontside for you. just a thought, great video as always garrett keep it up !

Portable wall ride is the most logical & simple solution. A more complicated solution i thought of is a small ramp that takes you over the lip of the wall ride, with a hinged board that folds out to clip onto the wall (youd install some brackets in the wall to clip into), which would function as a flat platform to ride on. Portable wall ride is the better idea though.

Expensive route.. Knock part of that wall out and do a like Half Bowl out the side of the building then get another big garage door for the new opening. Also I have been following for years since before you had the Audi when you were making skateboards in your homemade press and the videos lately have been SICK the content is you and what your doing and for me personally I feel like this is a Real Part of Garrett I personally haven't seen in the last few years. Love the content and can wait to see whats next.

I have a suggestion for the wallride, maybe they can make the wallride stand on rails with a locking function, 90 degree rails with locking mechanism so its sturdy and safe to skate that way u can skate it from both the stairs and the halfpipe :D

Portable wall ride sounds like the best bet. Hit the rail, go up the wall ride get speed , and add a kicker on the stairs and you have a euro gap or kicker to the top of the rail

I was gonna suggest doing a bowl end as the 2 heights of the floor would be perfect for a waterfall into a 5ft quarter and a mini quarter up top and connect it all.

Why don’t you mount some skatelite on the wall up to the ceiling where the wall ride is going to be and have the ramp portable. Rather than having the ramp and wallride as one piece they can be separated to make space for the handrail. For the ramp at the peak of its transition you can have a metal plate that meets and sits flushed with the wall.

Moving vert wall could be cool but also just a hassle. Corner bowl would be cool option. A 90° degree hip would also work nice. you could even move the vert wall closer to the mini and have a quarter pipe facing the rail behind the vertical wall right back against the wall for maximum space.

Add a flat section to the rail, turn the stairs into a ramp and do the corner wall ride buildout. Would be sick to hit the rail then turn around on the wall ride and launch into the flat section of the rail

if a portable wall ride is possible, i think that's definitely the play. once you start trying harder tricks and trying to learn stuff on that rail, having the wall ride in the way will definitely be annoying. still super sick!

I think you should make a hip with a bit of a flat top before it turns into the Wallride for the mini ramp That way you have some transition from the rail to the mini ramp, you would have to go up one side of the hip before you go up the wall ride but it might still give you the speed your looking for when you go back.

this is all really sweet but hear me out bro. this exact rail location but angled to skate so when you land you roll out of the garage door on to the driveway. imagine the possibilities dude (with some potentiallities for utilizing the dead space on the back side of the half pipe, could be ultra sick with some creativity lol great job tho! it works!

You could make a raised floor on the landing of the rail (circa 3in) that is the same height as the start of the transition and then slightly blend it so you just kinda hop up on the right side but on the left side you are onto the flat.

Drop the wall ride idea I think broskie. Make the mini bigger like a full ramp. Chuck a mini quarter/small transition on the wall opposite the rail, or put a hip/euro in the corner or something. The wall ride is limiting options I think ❤

If the wall ride will be stationary, form some concrete up the side of the wallride and screed it to match the dimensions of the side of the wall ride.

You need to make the wall ride two pieces. And make the bottom of the wall ride moveable like a 1/4 pipe so you can change the transition to which prop you are skating. Then make a euro gap back up. Maybe even another 1/4 by the other stairs. So you can just keep going back and fourth.

you need a half pyramid with a hip so you can start from the top and build a euro gap up the stairs and maybe add a small kickturn QP on the top deck to you dont have to get off your board as much and can flow

bro corner bowl is the best option. the thing to do to make it easier would be to frame them out separately do a quarter on the wall you were power sliding into. then frame at corner and then another corner. i think Corey probably thinks you want a corner wall ride and in theory that is far more difficult and more expensive cause you would need double the wood cause you wont be able to bend the wood like that so you would need to angle them. i dont know either way its sick to have what you have now.

Could make the landing for the rail the same level as the wall ride with a wooden pad over the concrete but then may need to raise the rail to compensate for the few inches the ground would raise to the rail.

Put like a “bowl corner” where the wall ride is, so you can hit the wall ride from the stairs and from the mini ramp

Im not a certified welder or anything but I did work in construction building warehouses for cooperate companies, you could've kept the rail piece you cut off, and just drilled into your garage floor with a concrete drill, even if it was too long, you could've cut a bit of the end, drilled the hole and cement it place. Yeah it would be a pain to take it out but you could use the same concert mixture to fill in the hole if you ever decided to move it which Im sure you plan on doing.
