*sees person outside* what is she wearing? are those the ✨ICONIC✨ Bernie Sanders mittens? i think so?!?!? *opens window* *yells* “ hey hey hey! are those the ✨ICONIC✨ BERNIE SANDERS mittens? DID YOU MAKE THEM! I LOVE I WANT I NEED. YOU ROCK THEM MITTENS GIRL! “ there’s the complement you wanted 😚✨
you’re the sole reason why i want to try to knit again, literally bought some cheap knitting needles 3 months ago and tried knitting for an hour but gave up and now it’s on my desk collecting dust. i’m more of a crocheter but absolutely love the look of the stockinette stitch.
I'm really lonely when i have depressive episodes. And just her having a convo to herself while i clean. Go outside, shopping. It gives me strength to be able to not feel alone and feel like somone is with me
@@typicalbliss I wanted to have the dress done a week ago, but I keep running out of yarn! I'll be posting a video about it on my channel if I ever finish it lol. In the meantime I'm going to do a tutorial video
Haha I just finished the good place for like, the 3rd time last night. It's so weird rewatching the first season after you know what the first big plot twist is
You are excellent continue your passion and your skills. Your a natural to just look at something and recreate it by counting the stitches. I am happy to see such a beautiful young woman with these skills, I started knitting/crocheting in 1965, but followed another profession, and returned to my crafts about 5 years ago slowly, nothing like you.
The general term for the technique is "stranded colorwork." Fair isle is pretty specific. They change the background color subtly as they work through the pattern, but that's the only major feature I've been able to pick up on
Oh my god, you sitting in full winter gear, the mask AND the mittens made my day! I loved the video, hopefully I will be able to make some mittens this winter!
Fair Isle usually refers to patterns made within the specifications of a cultural group in Shetland. Some people call any colorwork like this "Fair Isle" but most of us call it "stranded colorwork." Great job, as always.
2:20 oh my godd I relate 🥺 I found your channel a while ago and honestly? I'm obsessed. I crochet and recently learned how to knit and these videos are awesome ⭐
Hiiiiiiii since you asked, the pattern is definitely Fair Isle, and the colorwork method is referred to as Stranded as opposed to Mosaic or other forms if colorwork. :) The mittens turned out super cute!
Yesterday, i woke up and tried to knit with a pair of tapestry needles and embroidery floss. You really got me obsessed. I really need to get my hands on proper needles and actual yarn i just havent gathered the courage to get out of the house yet.
@@typicalbliss ohhh i wish ! Unfortunately most do not deliver where i live, and especially the us/europe based ones are very expensive due to currency differences so i buy local!
Your videos are great company for when I’m knitting. I’ve gotten a couple wips done. It’s like we’re in a knitting group….but not really…but mostly….ya
@@typicalbliss I DID! I restarted my BIG ASS chunky blanket! I can't wait until I can pick up the project again because I finished my wool! I even got a whole ass wool sewing and crocheting kit for this! (Even though I'll mostly knit still).
I personally am not a fan of neutrals. But agreed. Pretty iconic and def have a cozy/hygge vibe. I’d love to make some mittens too. Maybe I’ll start in august so I’ll be ready by fall...🤔
4:07 i think the type of colorwork you're doing right now is fair isle (when you have multiple strands going and you make lil floats on the wrong side)
Yeah. I’ve been looking up tutorials lately for a project. It’s intarsia if you don’t have a float... I don’t know exactly _how_ they do it without a float, I think it’s a lot of bobbins and actually cutting the yarn, but float vs. no float is the main difference.
I am obsessed with these mittens!!! You did such a good job! Also did you ever watch The Vampire Diaries? Because that's my go to show that I rewatch literally all the time 😂
I started out knitting and my first and last project was a massive blanket, lol. It's a bit wonky and one of the skeins was from a different dye lot so it's different, and I swiftly moved onto crochet after that, but now you just got me back into knitting!
Traditional fair isle is using two colors in one round and color work is using more than one color in one round. Terms are mostly use interchangeably..... if I remember correctly.😋. Ps hole in the thumb is common, annoying? Yes. When doing thumb, heel of sock or picking up stitches to avoid holes pick up a few extra and next round decrease them and it minimizes holes or like you mention use tail to see up holes.
@@typicalbliss It is annoying but it happens. I just find picking extra stitches up and decreasing them helps. Picking up little tricks here and there helps 😇
The mittens look great ! Also so happy you liked The Good Place, I recommended it to like 3 different people and none of them liked it (I also cried a lot at the end...)
