I would love a knit along for beginners, how to count your stitches, how to pick up stitches, any beginner knitting stuff because I have tried so many times and cannot succeed! Your knitting is beautiful!
The whole counting stitches and knowing how to pick up dropped stitches is what really matters when it comes to the insufferable journey of a NEW knitter… I pray I make it 🙏
@@anandersonnovel you use the crochet hook to pull the dropped stitches back up to the rest of the live stitches on the needle. Look on RU-vid for knitting dropped stitches fix with crochet hook or laddering down in knitting
My 8 year old is teaching herself how to knit. We went through a bunch of other people and you are her favorite. She went from crying in frustration to now proudly showing me how much she’s progressed. Thank you for making it so simple.
Girl the way I screemed when I saw this on my notifications.... Yassss queennn. A how to know a raglan sweater 101 will be a good idea for beginner knitters like me. This chemistry assignment gotta wait till I'm done watching this video 🤪
The way you describe things is so refreshing!! So many knitting tutorials use super precise terminology that most people wouldn’t understand, which isn’t exactly beginner friendly. I’m definitely the kind of person that describes how I see things or how it feels to make something instead of using the precise knitting terminology. I’ve been knitting for almost my entire life and it was still so fun to watch this!
My friend sent me some of her grandma’s extra stuff! I started learning crochet first but I really want to make some nice knitted sweaters and cardigans for myself.
Pleeeeease make how to knit a sweater 101 🥺🧶 I’d love to know the general idea of how sweaters are constructed! I’ve tried multiple times to make a sweater with a pattern, but honestly just reading and knitting without knowing what’s going on is very stressful 😂
So as a crocheter this video was soooo helpful. I wanted to learn how to knit but had no idea how to balance two needles and yarn. Bc in my brain you have to hold the yarn. Ya know? I have never found a video who showed the yarn without showing the yarn…if that makes sense. All the videos I have seen just assumed the yarn made sense to everyone. I love it! I can’t wait to try again
GIRL, You just made me realize why my scarves look different than the pictures of the same scarf I crocheted lol. I have a super tight tension but I didn't know that would affect the outcome. Please do more videos, I want to learn all about knitting from you, you're so informative compared to some other videos I've watched. Thank you for doing this!!!
You are so, so thorough and patient!! I haven’t seen knitting videos as easy to follow or as honest, and don’t worry- you don’t look silly! This video is lovely, and I’m living for those pink vibes! You are doing AMAZING, and don’t let anyone else tell you otherwise! Sending my love and good vibes your way!
I made it a goal to learn how to knit after crocheting for so many years. I watched your video some days back but always got stumped. I brought my needles to work today and my boss helped me out! Pleased to say I can now cast on, knit, purl, cast off, and stockinette. I'll be trying ribbing and then some of the other stitches you mentioned. Thank you for this video!! :)
I’ve been crocheting for a month now and want to knit. I literally started learning last night. Your video is really helpful and you’re not confusing at all. Great explanations
I think you’ve done a fabulous job with this video tutorial, the editing was great. Even if you feel you’re not explaining things correctly, you put in the visual for people to see. I also liked you had a chit chat with us. 👏🏼
My new year resolution is to learn how to knit, and this video was very helpful after trying to watch other peoples' knitting beginner tutorials. You made it all seem much simpler. I'm excited to start trying myself!
Okay but watching you do the rib stitch just saved me. I’ve been learning to knit this week and my rib stitch was SO awful because I wasn’t moving the yarn to the front or back depending on knit or purl and watching you do it actually made my knitting game so much better ❤️❤️
As a complete beginner at knitting, I found your video quite helpful actually. I’m used to crocheting, so it was pretty easy for me to understand the general idea. Also about the whole hand made knitting and crocheting thing, how it’s different for everyone, I like to think it’s like handwriting. It’s different for everyone, based off of our hands, how we hold the needles, our tension, etc
Videos like these are what made afraid to try knitting in the first place. I do crochet, usually but I did not see you do the cast on method which I find the easiest. Its where you loop the yarn around your finger, like in crochet, how you'd hold the yarn to create tension on your left hand. Learning to cast on that way, made knitting easier to grasp imo. I learnt it from another youtuber.
Knitting is actually easier than crochet in my opinion, you don't have to go and get started right away with a bunch of complex stitches and projects. Starting off with easy ones like scarfs in gartner stitch (the most basic of them all) is a good start for a beginner.
i already know how to knit and have knitted a couple things and tried different patterns but i still feel very daunted by of the idea of making a sweather, would really love it if you did a tutorial for a specific pattern and really go into detail about arm holes and the neckline :)
I am so glad that this video landed on my yt homepage. I have been self teaching myself to knit the past one week and while doing the knit stitch. I was so confused as to why the thread between the needles kept becoming longer and how to avoid that. I finally know that using the long tail cast on helps....thank you so much. ❤
This is the most helpful tutorial I have found, I recently got interested in knitting but I had no idea what you were supposed to do all I knew was that you needed were 2 long needles and yarn, I tried watching different videos and trying what they were explaining but it all sounded like gibberish this is the only tutorial I was able to understand, thank you so much for making this video
this is the first knitting video I have found that MAKES SENSE TO ME. I have been trying to figure it out for MONTHS. I'm so glad you came up on my recommended :)
This is definitely helpful!! I joined this knitting club out of curiosity, and i never regret my decision at all! However, the teacher was kindda lazy to teach us how to stitch,so we ended up doing this long unknown knit (the plan was suppose to knit a simple sweater, but all of us knitted a blanket with no end stitch) , and we dont know how to end it. Super glad to find this on my tl, thank you so so much for saving my life! New subscriber here ehehe 🤭
awww that sucks, i think its definitely super hard to teach knitting since everyone is going to learn at a different pace. I'm glad you are still going at it!
OMGGGG THANK U THIS IS VERY MUCH NEEDED FOR BEGINNERS LIKE ME ;(( pls do a series where you knit trendy sweaters/vest from pinterest and maybe...suggest some tips on adjusting what you create for viewers with bigger size hehe.
Your vibes are immaculate and I loved watching this vid. I started knitting a couple months ago but I’ve been taking it super slow and watching this/coming here to refresh my knowledge was just what I needed. You’re a great narrator and I was able to easily follow everything you described and showed. ❤😊
You are an ANGEL, thank you for making this. I wanted to get into knitting for the summer since I'm not taking any classes. I found out my brother and his girlfriend are having a baby, so I wanted to learn how to knit them some things for the baby. But all the other online resources weren't making so much sense to me. This video is such a huge help.
My grandmother taught me how to knit when I was a child (with the knit cast on) but I've never actually done anything because that's the only thing I know how to do in knitting and I got bored really easily. I would like to try again now that I'm way older and your videos are really helpful !
Finally! I was taught the wrap around method of cast on as a kid and no one ever talked about the weird extra space between stitches! It drove me nuts. Sometimes that first row would be so frustrating that I would stop and not knit for a week (a long time for a 2nd grader).
I just want you to know I just downloaded all your videos for next reason at all... You're amazing... I watched this video once yesterday and now I can knit and purl!!!!! I can crochet but knitting+crocheting!!!!! Big flex for me... Ok yh bye
this was SO HELPFUL like u have no idea. i started knitting yesterday for the first time EVER without anyone to help me out. managed to start a blanket but was struggling to find good TOTAL BEGINNER tutorial vids. i couldve needed this vid lmao. but now i have this n im saving it and coming back to it after i finish my simplest blanket ever and wanna try out new ways to knit. this was super clear and very easy to understand even for someone who has literally never knitted before. thank u so much for this!!!
SO HELPFUL! U were right about how this was an all in one knit 101 since other vids teach things separately. No shame to them of course. This was really nice!!!
I love how soothing your voice is when your explaining knitting techniques, these were all super helpful! Could you show how to cast on to circular needles and start a tubuar shape ? Love your videos 💓💓
Hi, this is Cecilia from Mexico, I've been watching so many video trying to learn how to knit and it's been so confusing, but you just saved me!!! I know it's too much information but you covered the basics in one go and now I feel confident to search for more detailed info. Thank you :*
Thank YOU! I've watched a hundred videos and I finally understand. I'm a loom knitter trying to understand how to needle knit. Honestly just seeing how close you hold the needles to the end helped me SOOOOOOO much. Great work!
Rlly want to say that you are the best 💕 My mother tongue is Spanish, and I don't speak 100% english, however, your video was much more helpful and explanatory than all the ones I saw in spanish, it has helped me so much to start knitting. Also love the edition in your videos 😌
omg please do a video on color blocking!!! I saw how you did it in the lirika matoshi video and I would love to know how! I can't find any useful videos on it 😭
not to sound rude, but if you want to contribute, make some yourself. Help others. If I was confident enough to knit left handed, I could try to make a tutorial
THANK YOU! You are the only person that has shown more than the knit and pearl! You just clicked with me!!!! Thankbyou so much! You're awesome! Hey from Hiddenite North Carolina!!
Gracias, gracias, gracias !!! Recientemente aprendi crochet y tenía muchas ganas de aprender knitting, ya estaba por rendirme y te encontré en yt, mil gracias ❤❤
This was super helpful! I would love a video on how to change colours (not just stripes but mid row as well). I’ve tried to look into it but there seem to be multiple ways to do it and idk which is best! Thank you, I’m new here and have been loving the videos! 💜
Thank you for showing while you explain. I'm a visual learned. I've been crocheting since I was a very little girl, but never learned to knit. So this is all new to me, even the way to hold the thread is different and just feels wrong to me, so its going to be lots of practice to feel normal. I'm very excited about doing something new! Thanks again!
Your videos are like therapy, it's really relaxing. I'm glad RU-vid put you on my recommendations. It's been really hard since my cat broke her legs, I'm trying to not overthink about it and start a new hobby
I've known how to knit for 20 years, but I wanted to watch, like, and comment to help support you. So happy for you that you hit 10k! Such crazy awesome growth in the last few weeks.
Love this! I was taught to crochet when I was in grade 3 (love it, make heaps of crochet things) and in grade 6 taught to knit but I didn’t get it and my tension was terrible so I’m watching this bc knitting is so versatile! I love your account
I learned how to crochet a few years ago, and finally I am going to take the plunge into knitting but that comment at the end about scarf's really got me. I gave away my first ever 'scarf' to a friend haha probably went straight into the bin and I wouldn't blame them 🤣
My brother got me a beginners knitting set for Christmas and this video inspired me to try and pick up knitting again. I used to knit before but could never get my tension right. So, here's hoping for the best!! I'm gonna re-watch this video now for the second time. :P
Girl! You helped me so much and I've watched 25 plus RU-vid videos on knitting and you truly made the lost since! Simple easy clean explanation, and loved the pop quiz!
Hello I’m from California. I like your knitting tutorial. I crochet but not knitting. Now I want to learn something new. Hopefully I will learn to make something. Thank you for teaching how to knit. ❤️
Thank you so much! This is exactly what I needed. So many videos didn’t quite explain the outcome difference in purling vs knitting or show different patterns to make. Plus they made casting off much more difficult than it is. Much appreciated! 🤲
It is so fun to learn what knitting is in different countries. I'm from Denmark and a knit stitch is called "right/ret" (because it is the right side of your knitting) and a purl is called "wrong/vrang" (the wrong side of your knitting). We also hold our yarn in the left hand (both right and left handers) and l can't get grasp the idea of knitting with your right hand, lol.
Great video- as much as I would like to learn- all of it seems confusing 😂! But I’m hands on! So maybe I will keep watching you videos but find a local class!!! Thank you- New Subie!!! ❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉
This is really helpful! I’ve been wanting to try this beginner sweater pattern that I had bought, and this really helps explain the basics. I usually crochet so knitting is a challenge for me but your tutorials are really straightforward and are helping me learn
omg you should look into backwards knitting if you're left handed! you can essentially "knit your row backwards" or knit from right to left, every other row when doing stockinette so you'll never have to purl... just food for thought :)
Been an American crocheter for years, never liked the letter-number sizes on hooks, this is where I embrace the metric system. I don't need to feel like I'm playing bingo when I'm sorting through my tools especially when there are sizes I find and use that aren't given a bingo-style size. 🙂
Your video style is pleasant, I know this stuff already but still enjoyed watching. I'd like a video on how you turn an idea into a knitting pattern (or at least a garment lol.)
My friend is having a baby in April and I want to give the baby a personal gift from her “uncle”. I have no gd idea what I’m doing so this helps, thank you. You’re a natural teacher.
i am just starting to learn how to knit and honestly your video has been the most useful so far and girl i love ur personality so much i wanna be friends w you so bad
