for the future Combining acrylic paint and fabric softener will make the acrylics more bendable and even washing machine resistant (if washed on lower temps) it's a great way to try out painting on fabric and can help if you don't have the colors you want also I adore the final result and hope to see more art/crafts of you in the future You make stunning art and I love watching you so thank you for sharing your creations with us

Hear me out.... items that look like they were made from massive leaves. Like, you're a tiny person who just made a lil' backpack out of a leaf. Or a leaf bandana. Leaf poncho. Something something leaves.

To make acrylic less crusty, do 3 parts acrylic paint to 1 part fabric softener when mixing. Than low heat iron (once its dry)

So lovely!! (to test mystery fabrics, a burn test is usually a good indicator! Cotton/natural fibers burn, poly/synthetic will melt. Plus you get to light things on fire! Obviously outside and not near anything flammable of course 🔥)

I know this video is a year old lol but if you ever face the same issues with a similar skirt idea in the future, you should try diluting the paint you use for the ombré effect, in water, and soaking the part of the fabric you want to paint in water, and try wet on wet painting, like with watercolor, which would give you a naturally blended ombré. It works best with dyes but you can accomplish this with watered down paint too (watered down to a few diffeeent consistencies so you can mess around with opacity

Access to an air brush would have probably made this work a lot smoother. My first thought was also bleach though.

Tip mix fabric softener and acrylic paint together to get really nice fabric paint that isn’t crusty

I had an idea to buy a cheap doll maybe a Barbie and use the circles you cut in the center of the circle skirts to make them clothes if you can. It's a good way to use leftover fabric (mainly smaller pieces) and you can sell the clothes to people who have dolls or have kids with dolls. All you need is one cheap doll to use as a size reference. I'd prefer one without moulded plastic clothes you can't remove for a better fit on most dolls. if you need a dress form you can buy doll ones online for specific types of dolls. I make doll clothes and seeing the smaller circle you cut out reminded me that you can make another skirt or dress for a doll with the center circle piece you cut out if you want to. Also watching videos like this gives me inspiration and ideas for creating more clothes for my Monster High dolls and other dolls I own. With dolls I don't measure. I pretty much use a doll not in the best condition as a dress form in some way to check the sizing of the outfit as I go. I don't sew anything while it's on the doll unless it needs to be a tighter fit and can be removed after putting it on the doll. I even make clothes for my My Little Pony as well. it's a fun way to add to my collection and I once made an entire outfit for a Moana doll inspired by the Disney movie just because the doll was missing everything it came with and needed to be fixed up. I even took the time to make the necklace from the movie for the doll as well. I love getting old dolls that need a really good fix and fixing them while also making things they no longer have anymore.

It turned out sooo cute! I appreciate the procrastination and anxiety shutdown of a project. I was/am so intimidated by a pattern my husband bought me from Etsy of a strutted dragon on a witch hat that a month free purchase I have finally made the hat. It took me 2 weeks to print and cut it out, about a week later my husband and nd I picked out the fabric from my stash, and another 2 weeks before I finally made the hat. Sigh. Hopefully I get the gumption to do the dragon next week before classes start back up.
