Oh no, now I want to embellish a sketchbook like this 😭 this turned out SO COOL!! I can’t wait to see the cosplay that goes with it! I love these prop/cosplay build process videos and I’d love to see more!!
as someone who loves making sketchbooks THIS IS SO COOL OMG!! so much thought went into it!! IT LOOKS SO INCREDIBLEE!! the led lights in the gemstone really make it shine even more !!! do you ever plan on putting stuff inside the sketchbook? I mean it's a very THICC clunky boi so it may not be the most practical to use, but I'm still curious haha
Thank you!! 💕 Absolutely! I wanna fill this whole thing ✨ It's probably a sketchbook I'll draw in for personal use tho cause it doesn't lay flat super easily, but otherwise it works pretty well!
Again let me just- *chef's kiss* I will definitely be attempting and watching NerdForge's video! Haven't been over there in awhile! You did amazing on this project and I'm so excited to see what you have in store next!!!
So cooool! I can't imagine using sketchbook with such chonky cover on daily basis, but again, cooooool! btw maybe more liquidy paints would make painting job easier on future projects?
This is definitely gonna be a sketchbook for special stuff because same xD it's not the most practical sketchbook On future projects I'll probably upgrade my paints, I like the result but it still feels a lot flatter than I would have liked
Dude, this turned out AMAZING! How many hours did this take you? It's absolutely gorgeous - though I'm very curious how easy it is to use the sketchbook with all those bulky elements on the cover. I'd be worried about pressing down on it while I was drawing and ruining the pretty details! lol.
Thank you! 💕 Gosh, too many to count xD it definitely had like 3-4 full days of work in there It's definitely not the easiest to draw in but I normally draw on my lap when I'm not doing videos so overall it's pretty functional even if it's a little tight I'm planning on doing a few doodles in it this week so then I'll know how functional it actually is xD
Really love the final outcome! My feedback on the process would be to first iron the fabric you used on the inside of the covers and glue the fabric on paper! This way you can use regular white glue to stick it on on the covers! To glue paper on fabric: I use Kraft paper and a small paint roller thing, dilute white glue with a bit more water, “paint on” the glue and then carefully place the fabric on top to avoid any wrinkles in the fabric or the paper Gluing paper on fabric is very helpful for any bookbinding projects cause it means the when you glue fabric onto your book the glue with pass through the fabric and make it splotchy and weird
this was awesome!!! great job! :D I think my favorite part of the sketchbook has to be the tree. I love the shape of it and how organic it looks, lol. It was very satisfying watching you sketch it on the foam, 10/10. Also the way you painted the clear gemstone is rad as hell, love how that came out! I've still got to catch up on your recent videos (I'm terrible at watching things when they come out lol) but I'm glad I was able to catch the premiere for this one. :)
It turned out so great! I was curious why you had posted about something to make an "opal effect" and now I know! So glad that paint worked!! :D Now I want to make props oh lord..... what have you DONE
the sketchbook turned out super cool!!! I love doing cosplay props, it's by far the most enjoyable process imo, the paint work you did turned out STUNNING!!! just UGH I LOVE THIS
As a former trainer at a paint manufacturer, by far the best tip I can give to avoid ‘muddy’ color - don’t paint with cheap or student grade paint. The way they keep price down, they reduce the amount of actual pigment. Use professional level paint - you won’t get muddy colors.
If this is a spell sketch book. It's main functionality could be bringing your drawings to life. Depending on what your emotions are and what your thoughts are for what your drawing. Your drawings can either be good or evil depending on what your emotions are. It's kinda like picto magic from fairy tail. For me personally if I had a magic sketch book like this. I would use it to bring my female OC's to life. Mostly to give me some TLC because I've been single for the past 9 yrs. Also you can't lie having your own OC's at your beckoned call at the convenience of your own magic sketchbook is something we all want.
That depends entirely on the characters 😁 Several characters of mine would immediately steal it and proceed to reshape the universe using its power. That may not be a bad thing, but I wouldn't completely trust their judgement about what to change.
I would love to see more of these kind or actually any kind of your videos I always enjoy watching them while drawing (or suffering through a paper for school 🙃) I love what you do keep it on and have fun with it😌
oooooh this is going to be SO cool!!!!! I was actually in the process of trying to decide whether I should make my own sketchbook and I think I will now.
It’s awesome whenever you make your more crafty videos. I’m glad you’re integrating them into you channel! U should totally make a wand/staff that matches the theme of the spell book !!
Okay so the designing magical girls video was super fun to watch but I honestly think your cosplay and prop related videos are even more enjoyable!! I just love cosplay so much in general so I would totally watch any cosplay related content ((though I'll pretty much watch anything you put out) that you post :D Specifically though I would love to see you make a cool magic staff :)) ((You put that as an option in a poll earlier so I assume you would be somewhat interested haha) Also I noticed that you gave your little Kira blonde hair! :0 Nice detail
I'm glad you're enjoying all the content 💕 Thanks for sticking with me through all my sporadic wims >:3 It'll be blonde probably until I graduate college in the spring :3 I wanna have a relatively normal color for my grad photos After that, we'll see 😎 I also don't wanna do too much to it right now tho cause I'm also having stress induced hair loss so idk if she can handle more bleach atm
@@PricklyAlpaca Ahh yeah dw! I'm really glad you're willing to branch out when you feel you need to. ^^ Ohh that makes sense haha, I get not wanting to look extremely out there when getting grad photos. :'D Also woah yeah maybe don't do anything to your hair right now. I hope things get less stressful for you!! D':
Everyone to u: oh my gosh it's so amazing! me showing my friends my go at it: yea I did all this only on the millionth time and after watching the tutorial 10 million times doesnt it look amazing guys? The said sketchbook: trash
Just realised you look like lavendertowne? Anyway i love seeing crafts/cosplay/props related videos on the chanel, please keep showing that part of your art
Dude It looks sooooo cool, good job! I can see u drawing monsters or characters like a supernatural creatures study book with cool language and stuff 😎❤️❤️❤️
i heard the film theory intro and just laughed because my mom looked over and yelled "IS THAT COW CHEETO DUDE" cuz I was watching without headphones, she only knows MatPat for the cow cheeto video on food theory
@PricklyAlpaca Remember when you made yourself into a Star Wars character? Maybe you could make that costume that you designed? IDK I thought it'd be cool. I love your channel btw :D
I have an idea for a book binding project that I think might be fun, if you just make a book and for the cover get some fabric and embroid something on it, might be cute? I dunno, just an idea, but this sketch book is SUPER COOL OMG! wow I can’t imagine how long that took haha
A cool thing I found is that you can make the paper look old or color it and give it an effect. So basically these are the steps. However, this is only from my own experience and I've only done this like twice so I am not sure about everything but from the times I did do it, it worked really well. This is just what I like doing and not saying that the way Prickly Alpaca did it was bad, I just find it interesting to compare methods and share how I like doing it, and other people can reply if they have any thoughts or experience. 1) Divide the paper into the size you want by tearing it with a ruler. This makes the edge look fuzzy. You canuse scissorss, but the paper will look different. 2)Soak it in some old tea/coffee. Make sure that you put the paper in individually or it can stick. Don't worry, this doesn't take as long as it sounds. If the container gets too packed, put some of the paper in another one. You can also just use an old tea bag but the corlour might not be as strong. You can also use herbal tea or food coloring if you don't want it to be brown. I also like to open the tea bag so some of the bits stick on the paper. This step I think just experiment with it and see what works but I think that for stronger corlour, use an old tea with the bag and liquid( British or herbal) and for a weaker corlour use just the tea bag or food colouring. Other things that you could use to dye the paper that I haven't tried yet are, any other colored drinks, plant dyes, dirt, etc. 3) Soak it for about a couple hours to a day, but I don't think it matters too much if you leave it in for longer. 4)Then take the paper out and leave it to dry on a towel. Lay it out so that the paper is not on top of each other, but it is ok to have a bit of overlap. This takes about a day, but I'm not sure so just come back to it when its dry. The paper is now done and it is a good way to use normal printer and cheap paper and make it more aesthetic and old looking. You can use the paper in as normal or make it into a notebook. The next step are for how I put the paper in and decorated it, but you don't have to follow it because I've only done this twice and everyone does it differently. 5)Put holes in the paper with a sewing needle and hold the paper together with a clip while you do this. You will need a thick needle for making the holes, and a thinner one for sewing through them. 6) Use a needle and thread to sew the paper together, and leave the clip on so it is easier to hold. 7)To make the cover, cut some cardboard to about twice the size of the paper, plus some extra for the spine so that it can fold. It is better for it to be too big than small so that the paper does not come through. Also you can make the cover while the paper is soaking and drying. 8) Lightly cut the cardboard where it folds so that it can be folded, but does not go through. Then put holes in the spine in the cover as well, in about the same spaces as the paper holes are. Sew the paper inside the cardboard, using these holes and a needle and thread. 9) You can decorate however you want, but I used some old jeans for the cover because I didn't like the cardboard texture. To do this, cut a piece of fabric that has about a centimeter of extra space around it that the cardboard size and then glue it on. You can then paint or stick things onto it, or if the fabric is already decorated you can leave it. 10) You can also decorate the inside of the cover. I did this with paper but you can use what ever you want. 11) The notebook is now done, but you can add extra things like a ribbon bookmark or an old key. Its also fun to decorate the cover with any pretty things you find on the floor, so long as they are flat. So yeah. That's basically it and I hope this was helpful and makes sense. Also, this isn't a critique of how she did, I just want to share how a way to make notebooks because this seems like a good place to do that because its on a video about notebook making.
Here I am about to turn all notifications and then I realize I wasn’t even subscribed like bruh I love your videos! I’m surprised I wasn’t subscribed sooner. Anywayssss you have a new subscriber lol
Huh I guess that because you were following techniques by nerd forge is probably why RU-vid suggested this video to me, thank you RU-vid this was very interesting a new channel to subscribe to
"i think it really benefited from a much simpler design so ill remember that for next time." i doubt that you will you like complicated things and making stuff hard for yourself. love ur content tho lol (:
I think you would make a really good elf boy, I’m not sure why you just have that magical boy look, but you should do that for your next cosplay, but make it your own
I love NerdForge content and your crafts :D I'm looking forward to seeing more videos like that. It came out amazing and man.. glowing things are just so awesome
