@@TagAnimationz I could export the landscape itself as an obj, but it would be a huge file, with no trees/rocks/grass/cities. I don't think that would be too useful :(

This is honestly really impressive you can really see your growth with the programs and honestly if you had given yourself more time I think you would have smashed the world and cities out of the park. Gameplay and stuff to do is a whole other monster but it's awesome watching you just enjoy yourself make things
Honestly, the amount of work you did in 2 weeks is impressive. Scuffed yes, but really makes you think if there were even a small team of like 20-30 people working on something like this how detailed and accurate it would be especially if you had more time.
Yeah like if you had someone this dedicated going at it for a year you'd have some crazy results, no? Now if you scale it up to 20-30 people I feel like you could actually make a functioning riot MMO, maybe not all 14 zones to start but you could definitely do like Demacia, Noxus, Ionia to start with maybe and then add on new areas as expansions?
One of my reasons for pursuing game dev was to recreate my favorite environments from my favorite universes in a game engine. One of those universes is League of legends. You could legit spend maybe a month or something in each area as maybe a 1 year project. Either way, this is really cool!
You wouldn't come close to 2 30% of the detail as accurate to the art in the universe page. The frame work is easy and fast but once you go into detail it gonna so much time on a wall. Not to take about the gameplay. It's another beast completely
For the trees on Ixtal I think adding a size RNG so some trees would be taller than buildings and have some organic variety of Big Medium Small, would be great! ❤️

Necrit featuring your video is the perfect opportunity for you to have your channel blow up. Keep on this project for like 6 months. Release weekly updated videos. See if you can end up with a game that actually has a few classes , abilities, and a very simple game play loop. Would be cool to see. Thanks for the fun video.
@@bradenallen1241 maybe, but until then it’d be a fun project to watch. His channel would explode and then the off chance they don’t take it down would just be a bonus. Not looking for any type of complete game I fully think it’s still going to a complete broke mess of a project, it’d just be fun to see it worked on for a little longer.
I love seeing these videos come into my notifications - this was great and you can really see your improvements across the series. I hope the Riot MMO folks see this and add a small Anboni Easter Egg somewhere in the finished game when it definitely comes out.
This video just made me realise how impossibly huge this game would have to be to be even remotely close to lore accurate. I sincerely hope on release we only get Valoran, and Shurima, Icathia, Ionia, Bilgewater, Targon and Camavor will all be future expansions.
As necrit says, you should update it and put some easter eggs. And also expand the land. Make the sea and rivers deeper. I’m a fan of big monsters so if you could input them that’ll be amazing!

This is an awesome project and you can be really proud for pulling all of this off in 1 week. Now, as you mentioned, the scale of the world should be bigger for the actual MMO. I hope we won't be able to see both Mount Targon and Noxus on the horizon. Given the vast space Riot would have to fill for a believable world, I would even prefer if Riot doesn't cram all of Runeterra into the initial release version. If they could take the scale of this project and make it only Demacia and Noxus, then I'd be happy and looking forward to all the coming massive expanions, adding in all the other regions.

The First M for MMO stand for Massively. The entire thing is Massively Multiplayer Online. Meaning tons of people playing the same game online. So no, neither the landscape nor the map have to be huge, they just need to support a lot of players. Even if you stack them up on top of each other it's fine.
F for Twisted Treeline. Also great work! I laughed at the haunted trees joke. Probably won't play it but it was cool to see the creation process. So jelly at how fast you picked up Blender! It's taken me like a year.
11:28 Technically, it's supposed to stay still on the same axis as the two "supporting structures" (that aren't really supporting anything since the disk is floating but they still match its shape). The reason it turns in Azir's cinematic is because it was burried and just got restored.

man i think this project looks aweseome honestly and i find it embaressing how long riot takes, i hope they make up for it by quality of the game since urs looks aweomse and its a solo dev 2 week project.
I mean... Bro... He did the outlines of a way smaller world than Riot is going to do and it still took two whole weeks. Imagine if you have to do a 10 times larger world with the finest amount of detail and way more cities, villages, caves, etc; then fill it with NPCs and monsters, set all interactions, design missions and all gameplay mechanics, characters that actually look good and enough content so that it can be played for years. Not taking into account bugfixing. Of course it's going to take an extremely long time, it's a massive project that can take many years of hard work. He still did an insanely good job for 2 weeks but he didn't even scratch the surface of what Riot is making. So no, it's not embarrassing how long Riot is taking.
@@yenel1843 Still, it's only doing terrain bro. League's MMO is far more complex than this. This is just putting objects in the map, they have to put maybe 10000x more objects alone for the terrain and then develop stories for quests and then gameplay. Like they aren't taking long for these kind of games and if they do it's either because they are not used to working in this field or because they are redoing stuff to make it fit Riot's standards. It just takes years to do it and knowing Riot, it'll take even longer than most, but rn they are still on average MMO development time. And paying them makes no difference I think, they'll work as hard for a 2-week passion project than for a 6-7 year paid project. +There are burnouts, people that leave (such as the project director LMAO), creative differences... It's just probably too complex for us to understand how hard making this Runeterra MMO is
@@yenel1843 It's similar to making films: anyone a bit experienced in filming can make a short film that looks decent, but making a big film that lives up to hype takes months or even more than a year for a whole "pro" team. It isn't really comparable :v

We only know the celestial beings they get their magic from as the "sun gods", but we know they're different than the Aspects because the powers they get are different. Ascended Targonians keep their bodies and are (aside from Atreus/Pantheon) host to a fraction of an Aspect's power. Ascended Shurimans have their bodies modified to resemble that of an animal (Nasus is a dog, Renekton a crocodile, Azir a bird, etc.) and receive a boost to their already existing powers. Before his ascension of Targon, Atreus was a regular soldier/farmer. After reaching Targon's peak, as a reward the Pantheon took over his body (which is unusual for an Aspect to do, but normal for the Pantheon), granting him all his powers. (Flight, strength, etc). Before his ascension, Azir was a regular sand weaver. For comparison sake, he could make ~10 sand soldiers at once. Now he can make entire legions (1000s of sand soldiers) by merely waving his hand. He also restored Shurima on his own right after ascending.

i actually really appreciate this. because i love the fuck out of leagues lore and world. and its hard to try to show wow players who have no experience with it, because they hear the word "league" and they just shit on the floor, close their ears and go look for keys to push.
Damn, no wonder it will take em years until release. The sole potential of the world (JUST the world) looking at the concepts is incredible. And even then it will only be 3-4 regions on 1.0 release at best. Really hope that they'll be able to use ue5 nanite+lumen stuff. It's a huge game changer in Fortnite.
