The concrete keyboard is the most practical IMO, you got a keyboard for office and gaming use. Also you have a lethal weapon at your disposal for self defense purposes.
like yeah bad guys coming ohno im in my office hes going to shoot me *grabs key board as sheild and weapon whacks bads guys weapon out of hand and knocks hime uncoscious* my job is done
The reason why Brandon’s keyboard was so “thocky” was because he also had a wood wrist rest touching the board. I used to use a wood wrist rest and when it was touching my keyboard when I typed, the keyboard sounded noticeably deeper.
Instead of cement you should try epoxy granite as it has a very high vibration damping coefficient. It would be really cool if you made the case out of epoxy granite and then filled it with sorbothane which has an even higher coefficient
@@RaihanAndika-yp6eo it's a mixture of epoxy resin and granite Sand. I don't know an exact recipe but I've always wanted to try making it for the base of my 3D printer as it's typically used for the base of machinery.
Not only was the editing and mixing well done in this video... but the content is top teir. Even the sponsorship was top notch and I had fun watching it. The only person to actually make me want to use SquareSpace.
I just discovered there are videos of keyboard sounds and now I’m obsessed with them. It was so serendipitous… I’m just happy listening to it after a long tiring day.
the thocciest keyboard would be to make a polycarbonate case and fill it with sound dampening foam then use one of those pcb’s that has the flex cuts, plateless mounted switches, and SA profile keycaps with a foam pad as a deskmat
@@vasco7751 well it is a waste and don't you ever pour concrete into a board but, it was obviously just to experiment and poke fun out of try to achieveing a more thocky, and also the keyboard was made not for gaming but just an attempt of making a deeper sound profile while typing.
Yesterday, I wanted to make my keyboard nice and thocky. I was impatient and didnt have high density foam or any material one wouod normally use. So as a leather crafter by hobby, I smacked leftover gorgeous vachetta leather from the famous italian Minerva tannery 3.5oz in weight with some extra pieces spread out on top. And dang did it do the job. Super pleased with the results. Porous yet dense, it really did make a huge difference!
Imagine trying to get angry with someone with a keyboard like this. there you are, typing a furious reply, but it sounds too nice to be mad and now you’ve lost your train of thought
the concrete mod is just like I expected, and now im interested on the car sound dampener mod Also, maybe try to use mousepad as the foam mod, since it also deepens the sound. ^^
Yeah, this was never going to work... the "thock" appears to be produced by deadening the sound. Concrete will just reflect it. Now, perhaps if you used a much thinner layer with a thin layer of spray in noise isolating gel foam on top and then a layer of cut insulation foam on top of that, that might completely kill the noise. Also, I'm not sure what this case is made of, but you could get around needing the concrete if the case was made if something very, very dense. Like steel. Not just the bottom. All if it would need to be thick steel. With layer of foam underneath the keyboard. Look into aerogel.
Lol. Everything except 2 of what you listed are wrong. PC or ABS, (plastic) cases definitely give a deeper sound signature than Alu. Plate as well. Brass makes the board higher pitched. A plate like POM will lower the pitch. Switches with long poles tend to have a clacky bottom out.
The reason the concrete mod didn't work is mainly that it leaves a small layer of air between the PCB and the concrete, which is what's causing the pinging sound. If you were to tape mod the PCB and add a small layer of thin foam just big enough to reach to the height of the standoffs, you will notice a big difference. You could also try putting blu-tack in your keycaps, like people do with silicon. I've tried it and it works amazing.
the thokiest keyboard ever should be a tofu 65 with brass plate, lubed anubis switches, lubed stabalisers with band-aid mod, foam under the pcb, and the burger mod + pbt keycaps
Finally, I literally check Squashy RU-vid page every single morning just to wait for the new upload, hopefully we have a new vid right here!🤣😍 Gessseee..
One thing I would like to note, as it has worked for me (I don't know if it will work for you, but go figure I guess) is that if you use a wrist rest, it makes the keeb a lot of thoccy. (Thocky, or thoccy???)
