@@truckerwellnesssusa thats because foreigners aka immigrants don't complain, instead they take the opportunity to learn, keep their head down and keep working hard. Also, we don't spend money on things for simple pleasure, just because we can afford the monthly payment, instead we save, make all the compromises, stay away from family, so in the end our kids and family can have a better future. About disparaging remarks, we don't care nor let it hinder us or our progress.

I always tell my friends in Brazil that although I'm an American, I feel like an immigrant living in the U.S. All I do is stay in the truck for 3 months, save $ by shopping at Walmart, then go back to Brasil for a few weeks. If you're an immigrant (or like me and spend a lot of time abroad), you tend to appreciate the opportunities here in the U.S. which aren't available just about anywhere else. 😉

He is right dry van and Reefer will make you fat. I’m so fat it’s ridiculous. The stress waiting so long to loading and unloading and also keeping one eye on the Reefer when you sleep is extremely stressful.

When I was getting into trucking, I was debating what kind I wanted to do. Ultimately I chose open deck from the get go, and my first company trailer was a step deck. Now I really don’t want to pull anything else. It just offers a better lifestyle out there on the road. Plus there’s a special pride in it. Currently I’m pulling a reefer in local food service, but only so I can save up for my own truck and open deck trailer and hit the open road again!

Old school trucking is over, truck drivers dont even know how to change a tire these days. I'm guessing it must be cheaper to call the Michelin man all depends on you load schedule if you're on a time frame it make sense, but hauling a flat bed and pulling coils or steel no excuse for not doing it yourself back in the day 70s n 80s pops maintained his truck himself trucking is a tough job, hence I choose a different career talking about (UK/Europe trucking)

The reason most don’t say there net is because the harsh reality is the average owner op makes the same or less than your average company driver. Just look up the statistics. If you want to make good money (over 100k net) as o-o you’ll most likely need to pay cash for a good truck, specialize, and find direct customers. Don’t do these 3 and you’re better off being a company driver making 80-90 k

@@youngpatrick29 yes and no.. I've been trucking for a year after spending 18 years working on drilling rigs. I have zero overhead, a paid for house and full funded 401k.. if you want to take home 100k or more be ready to run 150k miles or more.. im lazy.. just got back from 8 days out.. ill be home for 8-10 or more if i want too.. i paid my self 33% of what i made.. to me thats fine. If you work for a company and you make 100k , well stay there.. now as someone thats made 100, 120, up to 220k as a w-2 worker . 100k job means more like 75k after taxes .. i personally i got tired of all the corporate america bs you have with working for a company .. i do as i want and if i don't want to work i don't. .. i made 9000k in 8 days and sat over a weekend . I spend in fuel 2400 bucks and i paid my self 3000k for those 8 days and the rest stays in the business account. If i was a company driver at .45 cents a mile i would have to run 6600 miles to make the same amount .. i ran 3200. Im running step deck and just using the load boards for the most part. Just be a company driver You will make more and be happy

@@TheDriller100 You just started last year you have a lot to learn. I guarantee if you buy a old truck and get more partials on your step deck you’ll make a lot more. Find a lane you like and make friends with brokers. I’m making that kind of money with Reefer and don’t care about straps and tarps or any special permits.

At the end of the day like I was always told by old heads, don’t tell people your business. Truck driving is a highly competitive business and a very cut throat business- do keep how much you make and bring home to yourself because everyone is going to judge how you do business and how you’re living. If you and your family is happy then who am I to say you’re living wrong? Exactly!! Like the bloods used to say in the Vietnam War “get it anyway you can brotha”

If you want me to be honest and truthful it was a direct shot at the owner of the channel to not praise someone with a stepdeck for making $20k, that rubs off on his followers as they look up to him. Lol I'll stick with my dry van and stay warm in those frigid temps and cool as a breeze in the summer😆👍. Yeah I gain weight but 6'3 234 is not bad. It's all in what you eat out here. You eat that slop truck stop food everyday with gallon cups of soda and diabetes is calling your name. I also park way in the back to walk to the truck stop store for showers to get some exercise.

Carry a 35 to 50 pound kettle bell in the sleeper, hit them swings and lift it around you can work your whole body with it. There is zero reason to not keep a healthy body weight as a trucker aside from choosing to eat shit and not move

That’s easy and normal for stepdeck lol. 20k to 25k a month is the norm and believe me he’s gotta b lazy doing that lol that’s laid back ,,, my cousin is a stepdeck oo trust me I know the numbers ,,, he took a load once from Florida to Washington for 11.5k. Lol there are some crazy nice loads for stepdeck and fb
