This is a wonderful video! The story is intriguing and watching you apply your talent has been a joy! I have learned much from this video even though you did not give any verbal instruction. That is a gift in itself! Thank YOU!! The finished piece is beautiful!
Omg you have an awesome studio! Where did you go to jewelers school? You know how to do everything! I’m new at this and can’t even afford a fraction of what you have. I’m actually afraid to put too much money into the tools etc. you have everything imaginable. The perfect setup. You can do everything sooo well. It amazes me. Do you sell your pieces? I’m so glad I found you. I also love how you tell your stories about the forest spirits. You’re adorable. Thank you very much for the wonderful tutorial. Hugs & love ❤️
I've watched a few of your videos and they're all wonderful. I love the magic and folklore you shared in this one. Your work and creative magic are so beautiful.
This video was so interesting to watch Basia, loved the story you were telling and the final piece is utterly incredible ❤️ I’ve started silversmithing a few years ago thanks to your videos and after taking a long break from it I’m back to it now. You are such an incredible artist and inspiration, wishing you all the success in the world ❤️
Thank you so much, Helena! It means a lot and I'm very happy to hear that you're back to silversmithing! Have lots of fun crafting ❤️ Wishing you all the best x
I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS! I especially love ones like this one. I am so intrigued by folklore! You are a great storyteller, and you create beautiful artwork! You inspire me a lot. I have been wanting to start metalsmithing for a while now. I invested all my money into it and then unfortunately had to put it on hold for a year while I was away from home. But soon I will be able to finally start, and I love to see your videos the most! Thank you :)
I'm so excited for you! Glad you will be able to get back to metalsmithing and properly start your creative journey. I'm sure you will have a lot of fun! 🥰 Thank you so much for watching today and for your sweet comment! It made me very happy
Really enjoy story time video’s combined with your creative process ☺️ Love seeing the finished result, the fox turned out great! I love how brass goes after a clean, looks just like gold!
ahh, I'm so happy to hear that! These videos are a pleasure to make, they challenge me to make more complicated designs and I learn a lot while researching the stories :) I really love how brass looks too, it's a lovely colour and an excellent alternative to gold :)
That’s a beautiful piece!!! You’re a very good artist and you’ve come such a long way!!! I’ve been watching your videos for along time and your work just gets more and more beautiful 💕🤗🤗💐
Hi Basia 👋 I enjoyed this video and stories you had for me today. Please post more of these. Maybe also more of the beautiful region where you live and outdoor adventure to see sunlight from many angles and shades of clouds interact with your creations. The background sounds of a gently flowing stream, birds singing in the trees and you modeling your latest creation, maybe with the play of light and shade on a beautiful Opal or translucent Labradorite centre stone would be heaven. Love your work.
This is beautiful and I enjoy your videos, I dabble but have no business mind, I’m one of those back room types who work away in the shadows! Wolves Phoenix”s and Dragons I’m hooked lol, oh and sprocker spaniels better not forget meg! I love seeing what you create and your though process and your beautiful artistic style. You make some stunning pieces, I wish I had the space and skill to do the same or even close would be enough for me! I work from 2 custom made wooden boxes, one for storage and one for tools that a veteran mate of my hubby’s made for me as we have zero space, can’t leave things on the go have to tidy up all the time and all is stored in those 2 boxes under the table! Love seeing how you ache developed I’ve the different videos. The wolf is what caught my eye on this one and I love the story along with the video. What really amazed me was the sawing and the intricate design you can cut out just by turning the metal! Stunning! I’m curious what’s the Tommy tippy white “machine” on the back left of your bench! 😊😊😊 you’ll need to do a bench tour 😊
I totally love this video, you are an amazing storyteller your art talent knows no bounds evidently. I have never really done a lot with adding different components onto a piece of jewelry . Do you use a special solder for the brass and if its okay to ask what type of bur do you use for the markings so interesting. Such an amazing video definitely one of your best ones
great video, i love it, adorable the way to do the video between your work and the histories of this amazing creatures. sorry my english, my native languaje is spanish, congrats for your icredible work and yes i want more videos like this.
That's wonderful! Your comment made my day, thank you so much 🥰 I'm very happy to hear that. I wasn't sure about this combination at first, I always thought people would prefer it if I explained the process every time. But I can see that I was wrong (which I'm very happy about), I also prefer to tell the stories that inspire and make the experience more interesting 🤗
Oh... Well, I'm glad you enjoyed the video, thank you. I wish you didn't also insult me by saying it's not my work. I've been spending hours on research and writing, excited to make this new type of videos and share stories and legends that are connected with my culture and my childhood. It doesn't feel great for someone to straight up assume I got it all written for me by AI.
@TheArtOfMetalsmithing Oh my goodness! Basia, I absolutely did not at all.mean to insult or criticize - I'm horrified that you thought that. I am SO sorry. You did a video about how AI was so amazing at taking YOUR ideas and expounding on them and making great text and stories. I thought this was a great (possible) combo of first and foremost YOUR brilliance, and then the wonderful tool that you yourself said was great. I really like you, your channel, everything you do, and most certainly , really respect you. I apologize profusely. 😔 Insulting or criticizing is never EVER an intention of mine. Your stories were amazing, I was enthralled and also excited about checking out the AI you spoke so highly of. AI can't create, it can only recreate. Everything is the artist.
@@flyingcheffI appreciate your response and explanation, thank you. I see what you meant and where we misunderstood each other, it's ok and no hard feelings ❤ I made one video about AI and how it can be used in a designing process, but it doesn't mean that it's what I do regularly. Anyway, it's all good, don't worry 🌸 Thank you so much for sweet words and feedback, it means a lot! Best wishes ❤
Bosia this video and the jewelry are so gorgeous! I loved the stories you told! Thank you for this excellent quality video, I so appreciate you! I would love to know more about how you made the wolf please... how do you determine and create the layers? A video of this technique would be so amazing! 😍🤗 oh and your custom apron is badass! 😁
Ahhh thank you thank you! It means a lot! And I'm very happy you enjoyed this video and like this piece ❤️ In short, I made three identical wolf shapes (easiest way to do it is to make one, than scan and make multiple versions on the computer and the print it out, all in the same size). I then planned how many layers I will need and cut out the proper amount of pieces. It works like a puzzle :) I hope this helps, I'll try to show it in more detail in another video, this time I wanted to save some time as I was worried the video may be too long.
Hello Basia, once again another inspiring video with wonderful stories and, of course, the beautiful jewelry 💖When I saw you piercing out the fox, I thought of your huge brass order mistake video, looks like you may be using it up 😁 Thanks for another great video.
hahaha oh gosh, yes!! 😁 I have a massive stock, definitely lots to go through :) I love this colour combination right now, so I don't mind at all. Thank you so much for watching, I'm very happy you enjoyed it! ❤
@@TheArtOfMetalsmithing Hello again, I've been watching through your videos since I do need to get a reliable place to buy quality gemstones. I've purchased from Rio, Etsy and others but would like more options. I've also got quite a list of tools to buy from watching your great recommendations 😊One last thing, can you recommend an organizer/journal? Thank you, this has been my dream and I'm working through obstacles to get there. Your videos inspire me.💖
Hello Basia, Thank you so much for all your valuable videos. In the list of supplies, I do not see the torch you are using.. can you tell where you bought it ? Nice day !🌞
Beautiful piece, and so inspired! I love the details on the wolf. I was wondering if you could share what type of bit you use to make those small markings and textures on it? Thank you 💚
I just recently began following your videos and i am beginning to suspect we are kindred spirits... i just started building my business and my brand name is Forest Moon Designs and i think we have very similar inspirations
I loved this video , especially the folklore stories ❤❤❤❤ while you were designing your wolf gorgeous pendant… What stones did you use? Did one of the stones not have a flat back??? Big hugs , Autumn Michelle
Thank you so much lovely! ❤️ I'm very happy you enjoyed this video 🥰 I chose two fluorite gemstones and the oval one didn't have a perfectly flat back, but it wasn't an issue in this case. Thank you so much for watching!
I prefer the 6/0 up to 8/0, so the finer grades :) And the ones I use are called Nano saw blades from Pepetools. Super Pike Swiss saw blades are also great
I usually draw them myself, if I don't know how to draw something, I either trace on the photo (of a wolf or a cat) or use stock websites, where you can purchase designs (make sure to check the type of licence, that you can use these designs in your commercial work). You can find lots of designs on Etsy and Canva too.
Accordingly to the metal sheet thickness. I have a video about sawing and saw blades, if you'd like to learn more :) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-SIHvlJ2gxpw.htmlsi=1SCFviTj7O3xg4ex
@@TheArtOfMetalsmithing it looks amazing, I wondered if it was brass or gold but with the layering effect gold would be very expensive! It was a lovely story and beautiful work ❤️
@@SamKilgannon24 oh no, this amount of solid gold would cost a fortune! 😁 Brass is perfect as an alternative, it has a lovely colour and is quite easy to work with 😀 Thank you so much for watching, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
