I love how CK3 is the only game where you can say "good news my second son got cancer" and people would actually agree.

This is the most Balkan playthrough i've seen. - Starts as a Croatian county - Messing around with religion - Becomes King of Serbia - Attacks Croatia - More religious shenanigans - Going for military dominance

Whenever try I play tall, I end up swallowing up five kingdoms by accident. Really admire your true tall playthroughs, I would die of boredom. Keep up the good work.

Ways to get even more domain 1. Max out stewardship dynasty legacy for extra domain 2. Pacifism doctrine on a new religion for extra domain 3. When educating kids make sure to have pedagogy perk so they have higher stats 4. Get groomed to rule perk from diplo lifestyle so that even higher stats for children

Honestly, considering the amount of mountains you had in your domain, it might have been faster to diverge a new culture and add Mountaineers or add Mountaineers to the original culture. Although I will say that while you are mostly expanding into mountain provinces, watching someone give up Konni is always painful.

You can use holy orders when at war with anyone who is a "hostile" faith. If you have patronage it's free if they're not already in use. Doesn't need to be a holy war

Hey not sure if anyone else mentioned this yet, but in the hybrid culture creation menu, you didn’t need to take 6 traditions.. It said “Up to 6”

This has become my favourite type of game to play, a single really powerful kingdom that isn't too big. Another great video, there's just some really relaxing about your videos. Has a nice "hang out" vibe if that makes any sense lol.

Playing tall is really fun! One of my favorite runs was forming Switzerland within the HRE, consolidating and then basically forcing the emperor to do whatever I wanted. I never wanted to become emperor myself, but ended up putting either my family members or other strong members of the HRE to try keeping it together. My main rival, Bohemia, was always trying to put their candidates on the throne, or breaking free. Great fun, I really felt the rivalries between me and Bohemia.

this is essentially how ive been playing the game since day one. make sure my own holdings are stronger than the rest of the empire combined. Eventually I just spread it out to encompass holy sites and other special buildings and then you can literally just paint the map forever and nobody will ever stop you unless you fuck up your succession.

This is definitely a fun way to play - though personally, my favorite tall method with a bunch of holdings is to try to stack them into a few counties (makes succession a lot easier/stress free). Then you can stack some big bonuses depending on the men-at-arms or the counties you have. Eg, taking both London and Paris and building a bunch of castle baronies there can let you really make heavy cav maa extremely powerful - and in a scenario where you end up dying a bit early/losing territories because of succession, you just have to take one county back.

Do you not use the special interest tab to mass upgrade? I don't know what the official name is, but right below the domain limit is a tiny circle with a scroll. It lists all your domains and indicates whether they are being upgraded or not. Clicking will take you to the barony in question. You don't need to physically click the castles on the map.

Good job.. been watching a ferw of your videos trying to reintroduce myself to CK while waiting on the new Victoria. I think what I like best is how you talk through your thought process while playing combined with some nice editing. In the AAR style videos of others it is all too easy to forget to to explain everything that goes into making a decision. I think the "save your game" videos play nicely to this format because you talk through analyzing their game... just like you did here in choosing a starting position and what you see around you. Good stuff.

you can use holy orders in any war against a religious enemy, so even conquer duchy wars or invasions etc. also feel free to not choose max number of cultural traditions when hybridizing, the open slot can then be used to pick a new tradition at a slightly cheaper cost, something like practiced piracy would've been really good for dalmatia

Abusing the simps (and they can be knights, physicians, inspired chars) in this game is my favorite way to cheese it. Its amazing what offering up some guaranted pus (or boy pus) can recruit to your realm.

Lots of people think it is boring, but I really love playing tall and small... so far my favourites have been creating the Kingdom of Sardinia e Corsica (because of the op special building), forming Ireland, where you keep everything but Leinster or Ulster, and finally Brittany. It is very fun for me to influence the world around me with copious amounts of gold, as well as making alliances just to help. Great video :)

Once you made heathens vassals of your vassals you should demand conversion, then even if you have little chance to convert them without them asking for something if they ask for a favour you can just accept that as only your direct vassals can make use of the favors.

If you become Byzantine emperor, you can get the Justinian crown, which adds 1 to your domain limit.

Idk how good that tip is but I usually avoid being above domain limit by granting the duchy to an old woman with no family. I'll inherit it back from her and can increase my limit in the mean time so I won't have to deal with the debuff from domain limit and might also inherit artifacts, have court tasks done there that I need to do elsewhere or have stuff upgraded for me. Overall big win in my books

I think the strongest tall game will always probably be Baelo-Thyranna (i don’t know how to spell it), especially if you reform a defensive culture it becomes simply impossible for anyone to beat it. I enjoy also taking Krete and Cyprus once i max out the original realm.

Saw the Byzantine Empire get itself to 110K levy size in one play through I did and it was baffling how strong they got.

to have the second strongest military with only a kingdom, compared to an empire is quite good.

There are also certain artifacts that will increase domain size. The main one that comes to mind is the Crown of Justinian lying in the Byantine court. Its worth the effort to invest in diplomacy just to get a claim on it.

If you think about it, holding as much domain as possible rather than mindlessly expanding and relying on vassals is essentially playing tall, from a certain point of view.

Really enjoy the videos. One thing that bugs is the difference in volume between voice and sound effects/music. You’ve got a great voice. The sound effects are loud and jarring. (Constructive is the intent of this comment)

Can you try play mods? Seems like you’ve done everything you can in vanilla, I recommend Shogunate, The Fallen Eagle and Tales of Ireland.

Duuude you should play Kushite who have TWO holy sites that give +1 stewardship for level of devotion i.e TWO extra domain limit at max devotion! You can easily get over 20 domain limit if you get pacifism and the +1 domain artifacts like Crown of Justinian!

A few points. For faster cultural acceptance, land vassals of that culture, especially in that culture but also just in other counties, border the culture and so on. Landing your own culture in their lands can help, if the AI decides to try and increase acceptance but unless they're independent it's a very small amount. The Kushite religion has two holy sites that grant stewardship for devotion: that makes them the best for max stewardship runs, I think. (there may be some eastern ones that can grab one from a holy site and the building, not sure) There are two guaranteed +1 domain artifacts; one held by the Byzantines and the other by the Scottish. Stealing them is a must, especially as Scotland often gets eaten by the Norse. Finally, you could have converted to a pacifist religion for a further plus one.

I love playing tall in CK3 because it's fun to see how efficient of a strategy I can create to maximize gold.

I formed the HRE - changed all Cultures into German - conquerd Italy / made it part of the HRE - charged to Constantinopel - slaughters all Heretics to Georgia - claimed the France-empire - One of my Daughters created England and after that i made her my Vasel and shes accapted - I created my own Religion - recreated the Roman-Empire, Rom is my Hometown - Some Dudes in my Dynasty created the Norwegn and Sweden Kingdoms = askd to be my vasals and they accapetd. Most of these Kingdoms in my Empire re now De-jure part of my Empire. Now im conquering East-Europe-peasants. My Total Militarypower without Allies is over 250k. And somehow ... my Religion made it to India and Southafrica ... so they re next. I ... FEEELLL .... no.... I - AM - MIGHTY.

The best expansion run I've done was to hybridize Hungary with Sweden and Alania. Horse archers, Konni, Varangians, and some others. They all had 2 counters, and river travel +astronomy from Taltosism. No army anywhere in diplomatic range stood a chance.

I think you mean "greatly reduce the amount of time it takes to siege" and not "greatly increase" when you got the 10 onagers.

I've been playing a similar game trying to play the tallest game possible with nothing but republican city vassals. I am currently sitting on 21 or 22 holdings, and I think I could hit maybe 24 or 25 once I get to the Late Medieval Era in 1200 AD and get Court Officials. I'm at 1136 AD currently.

I think you are very close to max out. It is possible to have 18-20 holdings, but for that you need the right cultures, the right religion, the right domains and the almost perfect character. With around 40 it will be possible to have this amount of counties in your own hand and still enough time to play the same character for 40 to 60 years

One thing you didn’t do to increase your domain limit is to go to the diplomacy tree and get the perk to make artifact claims. Doing so, you can claim the crown of justinian of the byzantine empire which gives a +1 domain limit for free once displayed in court.
