Alex TIP here. I’m a local food truck driver (PFG) in Oklahoma/Arkansas. Whenever you drive those backroads or town roads that say 50 or 55 with a 35 mph curve or even 15mph curve then back to the 55mph, TAKE YOUR TIME. I do it everyday. Let the other drivers get mad. Be safe and do you! Keep up the content big dog.

@Alex the Trucking Guy you definitely could have made that turn. Sometimes you need to approach your turn by owning the lane on your left. I’m from Tx. I’ve been in those small towns. I’ll own the entire intersection to make my turn. Just go slow about it and if you lose sight of your tandems, then just get out. Don’t worry about what others think. 👍🙂 And always remember that someone else has already backed in to wherever you go, so let that take some stress off of you. Even at your destination GET OUT AND LOOK! As for your issue of streets your able to go down GET A TRUE TRUCK GPS!! Also, use google maps BEFORE you get into a mess. It’ll help familiarize yourself with your area to think through the situation.

@@RiverRatWA57 but he was still on a public road until he was backed into the dock. If it was all on private property then it is different unless required by the facility or the company you drive for. Either way nothing wrong with leaving the seat belt on while backing.

Alex, the struggle is real. I took a freightliner coach bus to Pittsburgh and there were so many side streets my poor bus could never fit. I couldn't imagine being a trucker, my anxiety would be at 100! You did great! Thanks as always for good content!

Just attempted to apply for GP Transco. I’m out of New York and was interested in OTR. Talked to a recruiter and they didn’t want me with no experience in the mountains out west and was told that we’re expected to chain. Just never had that kind of training here in NY and northeast regional. Hitting my 2 year mark in April

Hey Alex, you could have axel scaled at the shipper. Put steers on get weight. Move forward and put rears on. Do the math. Pull all the way on and get total & trailer tandem weight.

I have a dedicated route that takes me to Markle, IN which is roughly half an hour away from FT. Wayne, IN. I go into FT. Wayne sometimes but I prefer to stay clear of it lol. I'll be watching for your big blue truck on I65 if you come that way lol. I run that interstate everyday

At that intersection..making the right..the trailer will follow the truck..so when you go straight into the intersection as far as you can before you turn also in small towns move the tandems up all the way

I don't see it as a mess up. No one got hurt, and nothing was damaged. So, you're good. FYI, In Texas, they have portable scales, they can weigh you on the side of the road. So keep that in mind for future reference.

I did a pickup in Mohawk in Calhoun, Georgia and they had a display showing your weight that you could see from the cab. I pulled on and weighed the steers, pulled the drives on and then did some math, pulled the tandems on and did some math and knew I was good. Shaw was even better--they had scale broken down by axle sets and it even printed a small scale ticket.

Enjoy your P.O.S. Frightliner tomorrow I have to go inspect my new 2024 Kenworth Next Gen T680s. If all is right, they'll replace my current fleet Monday. I'll sideline my 2020 fleet until my new rookies start in a week. I'll have to teach them myself which puts us down a driver, but week two will see us nearly doubling drivers, going from 4 regular drivers to 7. I just had to pass up 3 hauling jobs to midwest for lack of drivers.
