it was don vito i think that passed not Phil and Bam was great at skateboarding all the way up until Jackass and Viva la Bam etc. thats when he let go of skateboarding and became a pro at getting waisted. Prior to him becoming a celebrity he killed it on a board.
100% right about his skating. Maybe he wasn't the most technical or biggest gaps etc .... But Bam could throw down something on just about any obstacle.

I forget what interview it was, might have been the nine club, but Bam said himself the reason he started doing the pranks and stunts was because he wasn't at the same level as a lot of the other pros at the time. There's nothing wrong with that, he put his own creative twist on skateboarding media and it obviously worked out in his favor.

Tbh when you said that he wasn’nt a good skater it fully overwrite the part of my brain that remembered his skating and people saying he is an amazing skater. (There is some bias in that, Bam always reminded me of all the things I dont like about myself which makes me really dislike him while also sympatizing with him). Good on you for making this video. Im not a skate expert and I trust your words and admitting your wrong is something that just strengthens that for me
Deffo just and age thing, happens. It's mad how far skating came. Maybe with RU-vid? We used to have to watch tony hawk trick tip videos or talk to an old weird dude at the skatepark about how to do tricks. In that generation bam was fuckin awesome.
its not that big of a deal dude lol I think jackass was a little before your time anyway. Bam was pretty good honestly idk if he was of the top pros in the industry skill wise after a slowed down on skating to focus on TV but he was indeed a beast

The great thing about bam was… he could skate everything street, park, vert. He even did the loop fs lool he wasn’t the best at anything but was so well rounded. I based my skating around him as a kid. Skate everything

Shit happens 🤷♂️ You learn and grow from it I kind of get what I think you were saying (I think?) - It sounded like you were trying to explain why videos like CKY were created… They split it up with skating and funny outrageous clips to try and keep people entertained (Like RU-vid watch time, but old skool)… Saying they weren’t the best skaters probably wasn’t the best terms, and maybe i’ve gotten this wrong, but in my head that’s what you were trying to convey
