I can't believe this is your first RU-vid video. What a freakin introduction. I'm so stoked for you and your future, you're already doing amazing things ❤
I've served Richard Linklater a couple of times. I used to work at a bakery in Austin where he shot scenes in for both Slacker and Waking Life and he still would go there as a customer. He's a decent fella and very approachable. You wouldn't know he's an academy award winner if you didn't know who he was. He's, what I like to call, an OG Austinite. Or what Austin used to be. He has that vibe. He's never left, apparently.
You really made this whole video like an experienced documentary short if 17 minutes. The whole video format and Idea of meeting Richard Linklater and telling people who don't know his legacy was really what I was looking for. It was great first RU-vid video and I am sure to checkout anything new whatever you bring us. One question please do answer, What's your fav Linklater film from his filmography? Mine's Dazed and Confused well I did see Hit Man too and Glen Powell really killed it with his performance.
Waking Life is a certified classic! A Scanner Darkly is also another great gem. Before Trilogy is one of the greatest trilogies of all time! This guy is a genius.
Man, if this is the level that your videos are *starting* at (and how the eff, honestly?!), it's going to be incredible to watch where you go next. Subscribed!
I’ve been watching your micro shorts for a minute now and always dig your shooting/editing style but to see more of your personality and who you are as a person is a lovely insight. Linklater is one of my favourite filmmakers too and I’m stoked for you to get this opportunity. Great video dude 💛
Dude this video felt like it had so much work and thought put into it. And it shows, my goal is to become a better filmer every day So thanks for the inspiration homie
I love how Richard Linklater's movies are so sincere, cool and telling in a personal place. It's so nice to see this video and what he has to say about his experience. Awesome work, I can't believe its your first video. The editing is SO NICE. Truly looking up for your channel.
Dude such an amazing video all around! The interview was awesome and the stuff you shot around the interview was just amazing dude! Keep at this long form stuff! ✌️
Incredibly well put together man! You definitely have a place on RU-vid and from someone who's loved your IG short films for a long time, it's great to see you put your storytelling skills into long-form too! Excited to see what you bring next but take the pressure off. We love seeing it because it's you, so it doesn't have to be perfect every time!
I wanna get this time to thank you Recider 💯. I am a young film maker based in Zambia Africa. I have been following up with your videos on TikTok and Instagram, you inspire me. You are a legend in the making 👑
Great work there! Outside of the interview itself I really enjoyed the narration of the first part with the different cuts and color grading! It looks really professional! Eager to discover more of your work!
This was amazing to watch, I feel this video on a whole other level. I'd definitely would've passed out if I met Richard Linklater but, I'm so happy I found your channel, the way you create is so good and weirdly refreshing
A tear fell here. I was moved by the video, the opportunity, and the interview. Congratulations! May a bright future come for you. Greetings from Brazil!
Absolutely phenomenal work here, it was so great to see you go through that whole experience and allow us all to sort of share that excitement and anticipation with you. Also the sequence at 7:50 onward was unreal lol.
I am old enough to have seen Dazed and Confused in the theater! It was September 1993. I was 19. I knew of Richard from the film Slacker. I had read his Dazed script and thought it would make a great film. So I gathered all my friends into my 1984 Monte Carlo and drove the 45 mins to the only theater in NJ that was playing the film. Suffice it to say, we loved it! Good times.
this is your story. your beginning here on RU-vid and your vision for this interview and video is really exceptional. you knocked it out of the ballpark and I’m ecstatic to see more!
Ok, I loved the style of the video, it reminds me a bit of Gawx's videos and yet you brought your own sauce into it (something I've been trying to do now). Can I say some criticism? I feel uneasy when you are crossing your arms the whole interview, I get it, I've been there, you don't know where to put your hands when you are nervous. I'm just saying that this is something you could improve next time in a similar situation.... or maybe not, and be yourself. In any case, I loved the video!
That might be the single most well filmed, edited and insanely well told story I ever saw on RU-vid. I think every filmmaker can relate on how it feels to get nothing right, to feel uninspired, to feel like you are one of a billion. I am coming from a time where Sam Kolder dominated 'filmmakers social media'. When he suddenly stopped doing most of his 'cinematic' content I really felt like there was no other like him. He was the reason I started making videos. This video right here, is the first one, to really make me feel what I felt when I first watched 'My Year 2016' back in the day. Feeling inspired. Thank you, for crafting this piece.
You did such a great job! Apart from being just a great interview I love how you gave this video you're own personal perspective (which was very well filmed). I look forward to seeing your future videos :)
That's a great video. Thank you for sharing. You did incredible. A lot of people would have stuttered and sweat and be vague with their questions. You came prepared and did great.
Wow this is very inspiring and incredibly relatable to someone like myself who is a HUGE linklater fan and has similar feelings towards RU-vid & media creation as you do
Well done you! Beautiful insightful opening and you did a great job asking the right questions. Love Linklater too, he's a BIG deal to me 🙌🏻❤ Hitmen was fantastic and i agree, we havnet even scraped the surface w Glen's abilities. He's a movie giant in the making
This is incredible! You're going places FOR SURE. As a fellow young filmmaker, I wish you the best of luck with everything you do! You seem like you have such a genuine soul. Keep that and cherish that. Always stay true to who you are :) Thanks for an awesome video, it was truly inspirational.
You ever see a video that makes you excited, inspired and jealous all at the same time? This is one such a video. Looking forward to what comes next mate, you’ve definitely got a unique vision. How long did that cardboard set take you btw?
I absolutely love your work especially how you play with light and make simple things look so so pretty. The initial half of this video was a glimpse of the kind of beautiful filmmaker that you're going to be. So So excited for your work. Hope you do more long form work alongside your reels. Every time I see your stuff on my feed it puts a smile on my face. I hope I get to work and learn from you some day. Love from India ❤❤
damn I think your work is amazing. I came over from your instagram channel, appreciating the quality of the videos and also the relatability of some of your topics. keep it up 👍👍
