THE MOSQUE WAS NEVER SET ON FIRE! THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM WAS AT FAULT. In Poland, we do not have problems with native Muslims. Tatars are a completely different culture from Muslims from the rest of the world. They are a minority, they gave their lives for Poland, they respect our culture and laws. Marriages are even inter-religious but also a Muslim woman is married to a Christian. It's a big difference, and it's a completely different perception of religion than in other countries. As long as our culture, our laws and the fact that we are hosts are respected, no one will have problems because of being Muslim, Jewish or atheist.The Tatars defended our lands, shed blood for Poland, got land and titles of nobility.

Arab Muslims aren't all extremists, most of them are moderate, and they are a small minority in poland. Also, poland doesn't have a bad history in Muslim countries nor does it interfer there, unlike the US, UK, France ..etc, that is why extremists would mostly target them. So I don't buy this claim that a Muslim did it, not even an extremist.

I've checked even Google to be sure and there is only one situation of Mosque in Gdańsk, where entrance door was burned (not the whole mosque). Arsonists haven't been found so far, but police suspect that the mosque fire was supposed to be a revenge for ritual slaughter of cattle and far-left extremists are the main suspects. Police found evidences saying about that. I'm curious where do You have information from about such incidents.

@@williambarylo Mr.William, I totally agree with you on social media. There has been a lot of goings-on. Not all people learn from their religion, nor faithfully practice. I always was aware that of Tarars Muslim in Poland, they practice their religion, and lead a peaceful life. It's great that they have more folks joining them. There has been major issues with immigrants in various countries. Some young Muslims that never traveled much, when they see a European woman dressed in what you folks would consider provactive clothing, they snatch them off the street, drug them, and traffic them. They were caught, the country that took them in, including people, were extremely angry. There has been other incidents as well. It's the younger generation that can't assimilate, learn, some Muslims were put through various education on proper etiquette in that country. Now the country wants them out. There is few other countries that ran across the same problems, in fact Germany had a rough New Year's night. Albanians, and Africans also contributed to lots of inappropriate behavior. I stead of acting like human beings, and be greatful for a fresh start, they ruined things for other Muslims. So whenever Muslims are looking for a place to go, people don't want or trust them, and judge them all the same. Polish people have given folks opportunities, but they won't tolerate ungrateful people. Poland also has indigenous Roman Gypsies. Also connection to Haiti. We have Polish people living there, marrid Haiti women, their children are learning Polish, English, Franch is their original language. Poland is also contributing financially to building schools. Polish people are not bad people, but they are cautions about what is going on I side Poland, also staying on top of what is going on our borders.

I don't think Tatars are having tough time in Poland from what I've heard they're very respected minority. Not only by the government but also by the locals living in Eastern part of the country. Turkish minority in Poland is well integrated too. Regarding some marginal situations when there were clashes I don't think there was a case when somebody burned down the mosque in Poland I do not recall such situation. There was an attack on the kebab store but that was becuase the guy who worked at the kebab store have attacked one of the locals with a knife so community gathered around and attacked the kebab store. I'm not aware of any other situations.

Completely agree! Most detractors have a problem with those Muslims arrived more recently, from the Middle East, or Chechnya/Dagestan. The funny thing with Tatars is that although they're not considered as 'true Poles' by the most radicals, they're not seen as 'true Muslims' either (even by other Muslims!). Re: attacks, apart from an arson at the mosque of Gdańsk in 2013 and other things you mentioned, I think it's more to do with the narrative against immigrants in general in the media and politics (which doesn't reflect ordinary people). Prof. Katarzyna Górak-Sosnowska calls the situation "platoniczna islamofobia": although there's not many Muslims, there is no positive opinion of them.
@joangg4906
@joangg4906 Год назад
@@williambarylo There is no "islamofobia" in Poland and especially not a "platoniczna" one. Unfortunately we have a very strong and loud left movement that loves to see polish people as racist, fashists, everything-phobes. To the point that they are ready to lie just to prove their agenda, and there are many situations where they use provocation as well (caught in act many times). Of course one may encounter some moron willing to do stupid stuff, but they are not a representation of a nation and really - if someone is agresive by nature, they will find a victim regardless.

EX-MUSLIM : Glory be to Christ, the Spirit of God and His Word, who embodied and still embodies the strength and power of the Lord on earth and in heaven. /// ---In fact, Islam is not a divine religion, it is not a religion of peace, and it is not a religion of love . Rather, it is an evil, malicious, poisonous , and deadly ideology that kills the mind, intellect, and humanity . And through this malicious ideology, Muhammad, who unjustly and falsely claimed prophethood , established a religion he called Islam and imposed it by using sword and terror, by beheadings , by capturing and raping women, and by imposing jizya (monetary penalties ) /// ---Many of those who convert to Islam do not know that there are surahs and verses in the Qur’an that are brutal, barbaric, immoral, and inhuman , for example: ---verses Which describes non-Muslims in general and Jews and Christians as apes and impure And this is considered an insult to the God of Islam and an insult to Muslims before it is an insult to others . /// ---There are verses that command and permit the beheading of everyone who does not believe in Islam, the beheading of everyone who leaves Islam, and the beheading of everyone who expresses his opinion about the teachings of Islam And this is considered the summit of bestiality that does not come from a real God . /// ---And verses command and permit the captivity of women and girls, and this is considered the height of kidnapping and rape , And this is impossible to come from a real God . /// ---And verses permit marriage of four, without counting sexual enjoyment with women whom the Qur’an calls unspecified ownership of the right hand This is considered slave trade and the enslavement of women. /// --- And verses that permit marriage to a young girl who has not yet menstruated , and this is considered pedophilia par excellence. /// --- And there are verses that allow temporary marriage, and this is considered Islamic prostitution, which is legalized by Quranic verses . /// --- And verses that classify women under the rank of excrement . And the turd in the Arabic language is a low place among the bushes , where Muhammad, the Prophet of Islam and his followers used to relieve themselves, that is, the place where they used to empty their stomachs . Because at that time Muslims did not know the toilet and the bathroom And this is considered an insult not only to women, but to all humanity /// --- There are verses that allow beating women and abandoning them in their beds as a punishment for them, as stated in this verse, and this is considered the height of contempt and injustice towards women. Let us reflect the verse : Do men accept being beaten by their wives and abandoning them in the beds ? And if they say no , then this means that they support the unjust teachings of the Qur’an, and if they say no , then this means that the Qur’an’s laws are unfair and immoral. /// And the verses conspire and impose the tax on everyone who lives in the Islamic state if he does not believe in Islam and is treated as slaves and with contempt. And the jurists of Islam say that the tribute is applied to us when the Islamic state is strong, and if it is weak, do not apply it so as not to bring prejudice against it and become a colony and destroyer, and this is considered deception and a cunning ploy that he uses Muslims /// If Islam were truly the religion of God and Muhammad was truly a prophet, those whom you call the Companions of the Messenger of God would not have refused to walk in his funeral and they would not have refused to attend his burial. For your information: Muhammad was buried by his family members only, and none of those whom you call companions attended except Salman Al-Farisi . /// If Islam were truly the religion of God and Muhammad was truly a prophet and messenger, Muslims would not have divided into several sects, into several parties, and into several groups, and each sect accuses the other sects of being polytheists and infidels. /// --- If Islam was truly the religion of God and Muhammad was truly a prophet and messenger, Muslims would not have killed each other, nor would those whom you call the Companions of the Messenger of God have killed each other, as happened in Saqifah Bani Sa’idah and as happened in the Battle of the Camel Between Aisha, the wife of Muhammad, and Ali Ibn Abi Talib, where thousands and thousands of dead and thousands and thousands of wounded were killed in this war, as also happened in the Battle of Siffin between Muawiya Ibn Abi Sufyan and Ali Ibn Abi Talib Thousands and thousands of dead, thousands and thousands of wounded, and thousands and thousands of women raped by the army of Muawiyah Ibn Abi Sufyan /// ---If Islam were truly the religion of God, and if the Muslims and those whom you call the Companions of the Messenger of God truly believed in him and believed in Muhammad, they would not have besieged Medina for three nights in their entirety , where they killed its inhabitants and. They raped many women, Even though they are Muslim women. And this happened during the reign of Muawiyah Ibn Abi Sufyan, when he sent his army commander, Busr Ibn Abi Artaa , who committed heinous massacres in the city and called it the stench. /// ---If Islam was truly a divine religion, and if Muslims truly believed that Muhammad is a prophet, they would not have struck the Kaaba with catapults, burned it to the ground, destroyed it, and shed blood in it. This happened during the reign of Abd al-malik Ibn Marwan Ibn al-Hakam. /// --- If Muslims truly believed that Islam is a divine religion and that Muhammad is a prophet, they would not have killed his grandchildren and mutilated even their corpses. /// If Muhammad was really a prophet and messenger, why didn't he compile the Qur'an himself and put the seal of prophecy on it so that it would have credibility? The child, Aisha, the wife of Muhammad, believed when she told him that you are delusional that you are a prophet, and that I see your Lord hastening in your desires as He sends down the verses that fulfill your desires and sexual instincts. //// --- The late Yusuf al-Qaradawi said: If the rule of apostasy had not been applied in the time of Abu Bakr's caliphate, Islam would not have remained alive . He also said that at the present time, had it not been for the Muslims' fear of applying the ruling of apostasy to them, they would have left Islam at lightning speed . He also said that despite the implementation of the ruling on apostasy in Islamic and Arab countries, there are many numbers who leave Islam every day, but they do not announce this for fear of killing and beheading. And the list is long /// The best blessing of all is leaving the dark, savage and barbaric religion of Islam and disavowing its evil teachings.

Great that someone is finally covering this topic. Especially if it's indeed genuine social research. Yes, Poland has a long tradition of having this particular ethnic minority, Polish Tatar people were actually Polish nobile class members, Polish knights. Only two rules were imposed restricting their choices- ban on marrying Catholic women. What they actually also endorsed themsleves up till now since it allowed them to keep their own distinct traditions and culture alive across generations. And ban on becoming huge land owners and huge farmers- due to the fact that Poland had within it's own social structure a higher category of its own nobile upper class- large land owners and those old and wealthy families didn't want to lose the control over who gets into their narrow group to prevent access to limited amount of royal offices coming with it, to keep its own intenral cohesion also based on religion as well as on close centuries old family ties. Not to mention pledging alliance to the Vatican and to the Pope himself for historical an dpolitical influence reasons, what would not be acceptable to people of other religions than Catholic one. So yes, here it is. Only such limits for people of other ethnic religious minorities in Poland which is often falsely depicted as " non-tolerant country". No, Poland has always had diversity but it was a regulated diversity aimed at preventing ceratin social internal order from collapsing and various social conflicts over access to certain goods or ability to follow a certain law or tradition or a custom from exploding at random. As for Polish Tatar muslims interesting fact is that until late 70ties in XX century they didn't need any printed version of Koran translated inot Polish for their own religion to survive. So a certain degree of isolation from Catholic majority has worked in thei favour. This fact has an interesting twist when it comes to protests of accepting mass muslim immigration to Poland nowadays. Why? Because who feared modern day muslim immigration the most in Poland? Polish Tatar people! Why? Since they do no interpret Koran in a way which would permit things such any modern day forms of radical islam terrorism and as they wrote in an official petition to the President of Poland " they fear that radicalised and unrestricted by the state modern day mass immigration from all muslim countries in which currently radicalization of muslim youth is common may pose a direct threat to their youth and may go against ages long traditions of their own community". Real thing. So next time around anoynone in anglosaxon world or in arabic speaking world or in EU meeting tries to understand the position of any Polish government on mass and completely free immigration of muslims to Poland , please keep in mind that Polish Tatar community itself have asked openly the President of Poland and the Polish state to make sure that their young generations should be offered an effective state protection against the danger of radicalisation by radical islam terrorist global network. As for peaceful muslims, Poland has never had any problems with them. Actually many of them visits our cities for holidays with entire families and often likes how safe it is in here. Since yes, we do not have a massive wave of knife crime, random terrorist bomb attacks, frequent tornados or earthquakes or any violent events of this kind.

I have a question though: I always avoid using the term 'Middle East', because of the many negative connotations. I discussed it once with my teacher (who is Palestinian) before an interview I had to do, and he said, that 'Near East' seems most neutral and is used by historians. I avoid both, if possible though, somehow settling on 'Levant' for most parts, as this is the focus of my work&context (and there are Arabs, who also reject this, because of historic context and meaning... but the people I work with come from the Levant mostly and really use it themselves) ... but I really wonder how you think of it, being a sociologist, as I understood?

But when explaining to outsiders it can become hard to understand. But still, it's hard to make people change the words they use. So sometimes I simplify, sometimes I give the full explanation. But because Poles had never seen a mosque they built a church😊. I asked the Imam if there were no problems among the three religious groups (Catholics, Orthodox and Muslims) in Kruszyniany and surroundings. He told me they had just one problem: since they celebrated all religious feasts together, they hardly had free time to work. And he laughed.

@@williambarylo 😄 Tatars deserved well of Poland. The were given land to settle down in Poland for their brave fight for the Polish Crown. But they are not only great patriots, brave and friendly people, they also have great merits in Polish culture. The famous historians, actors, great poets and authors have Tatar roots. I grew up in a Polish family that doesn't like migrants and especially not Muslims - here are a few points. There's a lot of noise here saying that there was never any attack on Muslims or mosques in Poland. That was mostly true before 2013. If you watch the full documentary from 2012, everyone interviewed was feeling happy living in Poland. BUT if we love our country, we must acknowledge sometimes ugly facts because ultimately everyone wants to be proud of Poland, its people and its history. There is a small portion of the population that doesn't like Muslims and even Tatars (just read the comments) - on the far right AND the far left - BUT they do not represent the majority of Polish people, just like the government doesn't represent everyone in Poland. Yes, there was not many attacks and it may seem insignificant for 99.9% of Polish people who don't go to the mosque. BUT there's less than 0.1% of people in Poland for whom it matters because it's the only place of worship they have locally. Here are the links but I know some people will think it's just propaganda and that the attacks have been perpetrated by Muslims themselves to play the victims - it's not my job to convince you: www.timesofisrael.com/poland-mosque-burning-evokes-kristallnacht/ bialystok.wyborcza.pl/bialystok/7,35241,18317737,19-letni-uczen-nawolywal-do-podpalenia-meczetu-w-kruszynianach.html www.timesofisrael.com/poland-probes-mosque-attack-far-right-gallows-protest/ notesfrompoland.com/2022/01/26/man-jailed-in-poland-for-planned-far-right-terror-attack-on-mosque/ For those who don't agree with Tatars belonging to Poland, ask the question: how many centuries are enough for people to belong a land? However, there are many definitions of who is "indigenous" out there, whether your choose the dictionary, wikipedia, geneticists, historians, political scientists, the UN, etc. If you listen to geneticists, humans originated in Africa and thus it should be the only place where humans are indigenous. Slavic Poles arrived in the territory of Poland around 500AD - before that, it was Germanic tribes, Balts and Celts. According to genetics, even Slavic Poles were not indigenous to Poland. So where do you set the mark? Of course, Tatars came from Crimea (which are considered Indigenous to Europe by the UN); they're not Slavic people - but they contributed to the formation of Poland's borders. But again, I'm not here to convince you to love Tatars. Poland has welcomed 40x more Ukrainians in 1 year (4% of the population) than it has welcomed Muslims in 6 centuries (0.1% of the population) - and the government has been bleeding money to host them (as the EU won't help). Some people, like my parents, don't like Ukrainians because they think they will impose their "uncivilised lifestyle" "incompatible with Polish values", fear that many will stay for EU citizenship - can you realise the shock such a massive population movement can be for a country? So why Muslims should be the top priority then? I am happy to consider migrants to be a topic of conversation when the government will first sort out the issues it has with its finances, the cost of living, Polish families living in poverty, the exodus of Polish healthcare professionals leaving the country, etc.

ISLAM MEANS SUBMISSION First of all, we should know that Islam means “submission,” not peace. This does not imply mere voluntary submission but includes a forced submission where subjects will not comply. Historically Islam is not known for its peace movements, but for a uniquely Arab word we all know as “jihad,” which means an offensive war intended to lead to the conversion of the infidel to Islam or his annihilation. Dave Hunt notes: Islam is fighting a holy war for control of the world! That war was begun by Mohammed himself in the seventh century and is still carried on today by his faithful followers through terrorism. The terrorists are not radicals or extremists, as the media continually labels them. Instead, these are Islamic fundamentalists who are true to their religion and the teachings of the Koran and who follow faithfully in the footsteps of their great Prophet, Mohammed. As one former Muslim and Islamic scholar has said: We must never imagine that such Muslims are being unnecessarily wicked. They are simply being faithful to their religion. The fact is never hidden as to the attitude a good Muslim should have towards Christians and Jews. In fact, much of the incitement to violence and war in the whole of the Quran is directed against the Jews and Christian who rejected what they felt to be the strange god Mohammed was try to preach.1 (Emphasis added.)2 It appears that the fundamentalists versions of Islam are closer to historic Islam than those who are followers of so-called modern “mainstream” Islamic expressions. Non- fundamentalist Muslims are the ones who have changed historically and moved away from the historic Islam. I will provide more information supporting this claim throughout the remainder of this article. ISLAM’S GLOBAL JIHAD In an excellent book, written by a convert from Islam to Christianity, Abd El Schafi has documented from the Koran and widely accepted Muslim scholarship that Islam has always been and continues to be a religion spread by force, not through peaceful means or persuasion. His book, Behind The Veil: Unmasking Islam is the work of a team of Christian converts from Islam that base their research and conclusions on the work of nothing but mainstream Muslims, both ancient and modern, from Saudi Arabia, Egypt and other Middle Eastern Islamic countries.3 El Schafi says, Muhammad and his successors initiated offensive wars against peaceful countries in order to impose Islam by force as well as to seize the abundance of these lands. Their objective was to capture women and children and to put an end to the poverty and hunger from which Arab Muslims suffered. So, Islam was imposed upon Syria, Jordan, Palestine (Jerusalem), Egypt, Libya, Iraq, Iran, all of North Africa, some parts of India and China, and later Spain.4 For those familiar with Muhammad’s rise to power will also realize that Islam rose to the fore as a result of military conquest upon the so-called “holy land” of the Arabian Peninsula. El Schafi adds the following information about the militant nature of historic Islam in the following: Undoubtedly, the concept of an offensive war to spread the faith is a genuine Islamic concept; it is known as a Holy War for the sake of God. We will see what Muslim scholars have explicitly determined that this is the essence of Islam. They also indicate that if sufficient military power is available to Islamic countries, they ought to attack all other countries in order to force them to embrace Islam (as well as all the Caliphs who succeeded him) called for holy wars. All scholars and lawyers acknowledge that.5 DIRECT QUOTES FROM THE KORAN Anyone with even a casual acquaintance with Islam knows that the Koran is the authoritative scripture for the Muslim. Yet observe the many direct quotes from the Koran advocating militancy toward the non-Muslim. There are probably more that could be cited, but these are some that this novice was able to glean from Islam’s Holy Book. But when the forbidden months are past, then fight and slay the Pagans wherever ye find them. And seize them, beleaguer them. Lie in wait for the in every stratagem of war; but if they repent, and establish regular prayers and practice regular charity, then open the way for them: For Allah is Oft- Forgiving, Most Merciful. (Surah 9:5)6 Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Apostle, nor acknowledge the Religion of Truth, even if they are of the people of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with will submission, and feel themselves subdued. Lo! Allah loveth no aggressors. And slay them wherever you find them, and drive them out of the places whence they drove you out. . . . But if they desist, then lo! Allah is forgiving, merciful. Go forth, light-armed and heavy-armed, and strive with your wealth and your lives in the way of Allah! ( Surah 2:29, 41) Those who believe do battle for the cause of Allah; and those who reject the faith do battle for the cause of evil. So fight ye against the friends of Satan. (Surah 4:76) MUHAMMAD AND THE ORIGIN OF ISLAM It should not be surprising in the least to those familiar with the Koran and those with a knowledge of the genesis of this militant religion, that Islam was planted by Muhammad with the sword, not a philosophy or ethic of peace. El Schafi provides the following synopsis of the bloody beginnings of the Islamic religion: Even the Muslim reader will be astonished to learn how cruel and brutal Muhammad was as he tortured his captives with fire, then killed them and took their wives as bond maids and wives for himself as well as for his companions. Had anyone dared to write defamatory poetry about him, the poet would have been assassinated whether a centenarian or a nursing mother. . . . Following Muhammad’s death, his companions fought each other in relentless, savage wars. Competing for authority and out of deeply rooted hatred, Muhammad’s relatives and closest friends sacrificed and slaughtered on another. . . . All these historical facts are agreed upon by all Muslim scholars and historians according to the references which will be mentioned in detail. No wonder that we see Moslems these days fighting with each other. In fact, these wars and hostilities spring from the heart of the teachings of Islam since it calls for the use of force to combat wrongdoing, as Muhammad’s relatives did with one another. It was Muhammad who said that “whoever sees an abomination must straighten it with his hands.”” Saddam Hussein repeated and relied upon this saying of Muhammad in his attack on Kuwait’s ruling family. Muslim brotherhood in Egypt depended upon this saying when they killed Anwar El Sadat.7 Muhammad founded Islam with the sword. His followers maintained Islamic rule with the sword. Subsequent generations have always spread Islam’s oppressive rule beyond the Arabian Peninsula with the sword. One cannot be a true follower of Islam without holding to the tenants of the Koran, which also advocates forced submission to its rule. How can anyone who knows much about Islam deny this? SECULAR WESTERNERS Why are so many in the United States and the West inclined to want to believe that Islam is a peaceful religion and not the militant movement that desires to conquer the world through Jihad? In general, it is most likely because of liberal enlightenment beliefs that dominate their mindset. Just as liberals change Christianity from something that includes the literal Word of God in the Bible that has occurred literally in history to the words of man that contain human ideas and universal human ethics. Western Muslims are often “liberal,” by Middle Eastern standards, in their interpretations of Islam. Just as liberal “Christians” deny direct biblical statements and reinterpret Christianity as something that they want it to be, so also do Muslims, primarily in the West. It is only in this way can anyone could attempt to represent Islam as a peaceful religion. Obviously there are political motives behind President Bush and his administration that have given rise to their many statements that Islam is a peaceful religion. Yet such is simply not the case. If our American administration is going to truly defeat Islamic terrorism, they are going to have to face the fact that it is driven by a historic Muslim belief in holy war as a means of spreading their religion. CONCLUSION Biblical Christianity does not advocate the use of the sword to spread its message of forgiveness from sin by faith alone in Christ alone. The Bible advocates propagation of its message through the preaching of the gospel and verbal persuasion. Of course, Christians have the secret weapons of prayer and the Holy Spirit that works behind the scene in conjunction with the preaching of the gospel. Is Christianity a religion of peace? Christianity is a religion of peace to those who come to know the grace of God through belief in the gospel message. Christianity is a peaceful religion in that Scripture does not advocate the spread of its message in any way through the sword, but with words only. However, the Bible clearly does teach that God, not mankind, will judge those who reject the gospel message of Jesus, His Son. Paul says the following in 2 Thessalonians 1:6-10: “For after all it is only just for God to repay with affliction those who afflict you, and to give relief to you who are afflicted and to us as well when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with His mighty angels in flaming fire, dealing out retribution to those who do not know God and to those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. And these will pay the penalty of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power, when He comes to be glorified in His saints on that day, and to be marveled at among all who have believed-for our testimony to you was believed.” Maranatha!d

I was born and mostly raised in Poland, as a kid I learned in school about the Tatars. I learned that they were great warriors, they fought for the Polish king and forever earned rights and became officially recognized by the government, in fact there was a certain amount of pride associated with them. Poland is +90% Christian(Roman Catholic) quite a bit less are practicing but, the population in Poland realized that there is a great amount of stability that comes with a homogeneous society. For example, ethnic Russians are practically nonexistent in Poland, Stalin made sure of that, but thanks to that Putin can never invade under the pretext of “saving his precious countrymen”. People in Poland are not afraid of Islam, they are afraid that so many will come that they will institute their own laws, take over towns and even the Police will be afraid to go in there. It’s what’s happening in England and other places in Western Europe.

Thank you for this very informative comment! Much appreciated. I think many people share the same fear of the other, just like in the UK people have a very negative idea of Polish people (who were said of opening Polish shops everywhere and "stealing" the state's money - which lead to Brexit. However, I wonder how these same people will feel about Ukrainians. In one year, there has been 40x more Ukrainians coming to the UK than Muslims in 6 centuries. If you go to Kraków, you already can see lots of very expensive cars with Ukrainian plates blasting music on the streets. My parents think they are uncivilised people (even though we have distant family in Lwów). Although the government decided to help, I wonder how the general public will respond when the war is over and many of these people will settle in Poland.

The fact that women and children are very valuable in Turkic culture, that we swim in the sea, that we do not cover our heads like 1500 years ago, and that we can live in peace with other religions disturb the Wahhabis. A Jordanian said to me, "You are not a Muslim" because I do not have an Arab name. My own high culture and my very old no-gender language are enough for me. You are clearly a Pole first and foremost as your accent is heavier than mine, and I don’t even live in the UK anymore. This is even more weirder considering a lot of muslim convert change their name to an islamic name. Also, ive met a few Polish people that converted to islam, mainly Polish women who have been converted through marriage to a muslim. As a Pole, this baffles me, because not only is the version of islam that Poles abroad are exposed to RADICALLY different from the culture and social norms in Poland , ( to the point where our native Tatars are against the flow of muslim migration to Poland ), but it’s also radically different to the native islam we have in Poland.
@williambarylo

My parents migrated to France in the 80s and gave me an English name saying "everyone will pronounce it the same way across the world" (it didn't work!). Also, as a kid, they refused to teach me Polish because they were scared I would have a Polish accent at school (France at the time didn't like Polish people). So I when I grew up, I bought myself some books and asked my parents to only speak Polish to me. I like my name so I didn't want to change it. Then I moved to the UK for work. And yes, Islam just like Christianity are practised very differently across the world for better or worse. Sadly, politics, culture and people's stupidity don't always help and the message gets lost. Some Muslims don't consider Tatars Muslims because again, people can be judgemental.

I have encountered Polish parents of your type, and without disrespecting yours, i cannot wrap my head around being so ashamed about who you are, it is selfish and cruel to deprive your child of his/hers true identity. I personally would not forgive my parents for such ‘cowardice’ ( again i hope im not coming across as rude), but i guess islam and by extension Christianity teaches forgiveness first and foremost. @@vibranium-riprich314 thank you. My parents regretted it because they realised I would pick up a French accent in school anyways. But I think this is an illustration on how some people can easily drop their culture for the sake of validation and acceptance - or perceived safety. My family always perceived the French, the Britsh and the Germans to be "superior" Europeans. The French especially, have this narrative at school and in the media and politics that if you live in France, you need to assimilate abandon your culture. When you are an isolated Polish family and you hear anti-immigrant discourse on TV, I understand it's hard to resist to the pressure. I think it's a form of subtle colonisation of the minds. the problem is then, that people pick up the worst aspect of the host culture, just like my parents became anti-immigrants, while being migrants themselves!

Early settlements, economy and burials in Poland Slavic archaeological cultures c. 700 AD In Poland, the earliest archeological sites considered Slavic include a limited number of 6th-century settlements and a few isolated burial sites. The material obtained there consists mostly of simple, manually formed ceramics, typical of the entire early Slavic area. It is on the basis of the different varieties of these basic clay pots and infrequent decorations that the three cultures are distinguished.[24] The largest of the earliest Slavic (Prague culture) settlement sites in Poland that have been subjected to systematic research is located in Bachórz, Rzeszów County, and dates to the second half of 5th through 7th centuries. It consisted of 12 nearly square, partially dug-out houses, each covering the area of 6.2 to 19.8 (14.0 on the average) square meters. A stone furnace was usually placed in a corner, which is typical for Slavic homesteads of that period, but clay ovens and centrally located hearths are also found.[12] 45 newer dwellings of a different type from the 7th/8th to 9th/10th centuries have also been discovered in the vicinity.[25][26] Poorly developed handicraft and limited resources for metal working are characteristic of the communities of all early Slavic cultures. There were no major iron production centers, but metal founding techniques were known; among the metal objects occasionally found are iron knives and hooks, as well as bronze decorative items (as can be found in 7th-century finds in Haćki, Bielsk Podlaski County, a site of one of the earliest fortified settlements). The inventories of the typical small open settlements also normally include various utensils made of stone, horn and clay (including weights used for weaving). The settlements were arranged as clusters of cabins along river or stream valleys, but above their flood levels, they were usually irregular and typically faced south. The wooden frame or pillar-supported square houses covered with a straw roof had each sides of 2.5 to 4.5 meters in length. Fertile lowlands were sought, but also forested areas with diversified plant and animal environment to provide additional sustenance. The settlements were self-sufficient; the early Slavs functioned without significant long-distance trade. Potter's wheels were used from the turn of the 7th century on. Some villages larger than a few homes have been discovered in the Kraków-Nowa Huta region from the 6th to 9th century, for example a complex of 11 settlements on the left bank of the Vistula in the direction of Igołomia. The original furnishings of Slavic huts are difficult to determine, because equipment was often made of perishable materials such as wood, leather or fabrics. Free- standing clay dome stoves for bread baking have been found on some locations. Another large 6th- to 9th-century settlement complex existed in the vicinity of Głogów in Silesia.[27][28][29]

Przeworsk culture - The Przeworsk culture (Polish pronunciation: [ˈpʂɛvɔrsk]) was an Iron Age material culture in the region of what is now Poland, that dates from the 3rd century BC to the 5th century AD.[1] It takes its name from the town Przeworsk, near the village where the first artifacts were identified. In its earliest form it was located in what is now central and southern Poland, in the upper Oder and Vistula basins. It later spread southwards, beyond the Carpathians, towards the headwaters of the Tisza river, and eastwards, past the Vistula, and towards the headwaters of the Dniester. The earliest form of the culture was a northern extension of the Celtic La Tène material culture which influenced much of continental Europe in the Iron Age, but it was also influenced by other material cultures of the region, including the Jastorf culture to its west. To the east, the Przeworsk culture is associated with the Zarubintsy culture. That makes perfect sense! That's why, I think, people in large cities who have interactions with real people are generally more understanding, and people living in the countryside have more difficulty trusting newcomers. Prof Katarzyna Górak-Sosnowska calls this "platoniczna islamofobia" (talking about Muslims, in 2012). I always found it curious why they would choose Poland though. Poland is beautiful and people are honest but the language is more difficult to learn than English, German or French, it's not in the Euro zone and benefits are less than in France or northern Europe. I don't think someone would put themselves in such a situation if they expect an easy life.

@@williambarylo In 2023, it is not at all obvious whether "the benefits of living in Germany and France are greater than in Poland." We currently have over a million Ukrainians who have it very well calculated - they themselves have been saying for years that they will earn more in Poland. The cost of living in Germany is 4 times higher, while a newcomer can earn only 2 times more than in Poland (according to Ukrainians). If your goal is to work and not to live on benefits, and you have a family with you (you cannot save on food, accommodation, soap, etc.), then you choose Poland. As for those Pakistanis, they didn't so much choose Poland as Poland chose them. Polish Tatars have repeatedly proved that they are true Poles by shedding blood for their homeland. What is interesting, they live where there is the greatest heartland of national movements. The aversion to Islam is understandable in connection with the immigration crisis and the problems they create in Western European countries, including a very high propensity for social benefits without showing a willingness to work. and a lack of respect for local values. Poles will not allow themselves to do that, unlike the politically correct countries of Western Europe. This is also seen in the protection of borders. When Greece, Italy, Spain let illegal immigrants through like a sieve and EU institutions supported people smugglers, in Poland the border guards did what is their duty ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Qpek20Oh6rU.html

Sadly it didn't prevent British people running campaigns about the "invasion" of "Polski sklepy" and their "backwards culture" who doesn't want to "integrate", and eventually voting Brexit. I had a hard time finding jobs in the UK despite my PhD because I was told I was like "these dirty Polish immigrants who make dodgy driveways and steal your money." The problem was people believed the narrative offered by the media and politicians and only now realise that it was thanks to these Polish people were making British Education, Construction, Agriculture Hospitality and Healthcare work. Poland used to be a "multiculti" state with policies that allowed foreigners to move to Poland and settle here without hostilities from the state. "The Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth was immensely multicultural throughout its existence - it comprised countless religious identities and ethnic minorities inhabiting the country's vast territory.". Obviously there were tensions between all those groups, but thats expected if your society is so diverse. Also something worth noting is that whenever the PLC won battles captured enemies had the choice to join the Polish forces and settle in Poland. This in a small part contributed to the countries insane diversity at that time. Another thing worth mentioning is that at that time the PLC was way ahead of its time in terms of developing a "pseudo"-democratic state in a world ruled by absolutism. This state failed, because of the Liberum Veto which gave bad actors the power to block important policies the country needed to further develop. Sadly the diversity of the Polish state was destroyed by Nazi and Soviet ethnical and religious cleansing policies. Arguably Ukraine and its very diverse society is right now what the PLC was back then when it existed.

USA has taken in unacceptable amount of undocumented people from 3rd world countries. They're living in hotels, during, drugs, and peeing all over the place, not to mention other things.
