I usually have around 20 or so cars. I'm "in the business" so to speak and inventory is a must. Plus with the horrible degradation of "new" parts ( unusable trash) having OE parts on hand is the best hope for keeping them going. I get ( and mirror) your approach , have some fun, make a few bucks, and avoid the snobs at the "car show". Keep Going ( Bad Santa style)!

My Dad had a 63.5 Galaxie 500 XL in Gold, with a hi-perf 390 and a 4 speed, and bucket seats, and 2 little girls. In 65, I came along, and he traded in that car for a blue 66 Country Squire wagon with a 289/AT. For the rest of Dad's life, I never lived that down! Hey Dad, I was YOUR fault! 🤣

Props to you for being an honest person and actually doing some work before selling a vehicle. I'm sure it happens worldwide, but in my local area over here in Australia there are a few "flippers" who unashamedly buy an old car or parts of off a very public advertisement and immediately list it for sale again at 5 times what they bought it for without as much as even cleaning the item, sometimes not even taking it off the trailer they picked it up with.

Happens in the USA with houses. Buy from a desperate owner, clean and paint, cover up the defects, then flip for twice what they paid.

There's a guy around me that does that, I'll see a decent old pile of crap maybe say a bumpside pickup up on FB marketplace for a few weeks and think, yeah if I had the 2500 I'd buy that, drive it for a couple years, clean it up, maybe do a headliner and carpet and such, enjoy it running around town and the cars and coffee crowd, then sell it for 5k-6k...and invariably this dunce will buy it, not even wash or vacuum it, and put it up for 7500 firm and it sits for six months with neighborhood kids busting windows and scratching up what's left of the paint until he scraps it. Not even to the junkyard, right to the metal place and they shred it right up and probably handed him 400 at most. Must be nice to afford to be an idiot these days and have lawn ornaments I guess. At least Mortske gets them yard driving and checked out and sorted for the next guy to finish or enjoy as is.

I love the 71 ford f100,brings back memories of the truck I had when I got my license at 16 years old. That was a 72 f100. 63 and 64 galaxies are on my top 5 list of all time favorite cars. My mom drove a 63 and my father drove a 64 when I was a kid.

I think that you should get that 71 F100 fixed over the winter and make your regular "runnin' to the parts store" or "runnin' down the road to the neighbor's" rig. I've always thought that thing fits you like a glove! I miss seeing you drive it!

@@MortskeRepair Hot Rod Garage did a Crown Vic chassis and engine swap under a ford pickup body, not sure if that would work for your unibody. They seemed to really like the outcome and those ford modular engines might pique your interest in other possibilities for builds. I'm not a Ford or Chevy guy, however you can't deny it feels a little dirty mixing body and power train, there are too many options these days not to consider what could be.

I would use Dirt Reynolds for every other car that can use the parts. Then part out Mr Reynolds! Also combine other cars to make one super car, and part or sell whole the rest!

Keep the Bronco! Run a P/U top if you have one… find a good 6 or a 289/302 and holly fuel injection the engine it’s just too hard to find another…and the re release ain’t the same…

So far my channel mostly does small engine stuff and I don't think a tow truck would help with that very much. Great content Mortske. Yeah I would have to say the Bernie's Tow Truck is one of my most favorites out of everything just something about that truck. Then after that it goes to White Lightning and the Red Ford Ramp truck I really like that truck a lot especially being a four-door too Definitely need to find me a tow truck instead of having somebody do stuff for me when I'm buying something to bring home , That would come in handy alot

The 63 Impala is my favorite of your collection and it didn't take long to get rid of that. I love the wreckers and ramp trucks bc my Dad and Uncles all had a wrecker service for as long as i can remember. I can't wait to see what you decide to do with Dirt Reynolds. My brother and I have been on the look-out for a beater pick-up for my niece. The "66 Rex is kind of what we had in mind - nothing fancy, but mechanically sound - 4-speed is a must because we are trying to get her away from her girly - girly Mazda Miata. She does like to do stuff like mud-boggin' and riding trails out in the woods. I know the Rex is not for sale - so no worries there. One of these days maybe we can find something that will suit her as the ideal vehicle........get rid of that little foreign junk.....

I’ve totally lost track of which ones are for sale, which ones need to go back to the last owner, and which ones have sentimental value….ugh. I have to start over.

Let me help… they ALL have sentimental value, in varying degrees, which comes from performing life support to most. If they’re on a sticker, sticker price reflects. Hope that helps. 😉

Such a hard problem to have. You are very blessed to be in a position to have the experiences and physical things you have. You are blessed that you have so much... Ignore the hammers on the sales pitch. I get it, You're trying to weed out some assets. A good tip is if you have it longer than 3 months and you don't drive it, dump it. The rule worked well for me. Hard to say what to sell and what to keep. The Bubbletop you should keep at all costs, cause these are gone forever from this world. Very nice overview of what you have and definitely networking is the way to go.

I know the feeling. I've had as many as 30 and now I'm down to 5 and will do my best to stay there. Too easy to fall in love with them and too hard to let em go. For me the trick is to help others get theirs running. Satisfies the itch I guess. Thanks for the tour. Good fleet for sure.
