I am so glad you all recommended this video of Dan Vasc. I enjoyed seeing how long of a way his stuff has come. But his rendition of this song was bomb. I wish we could've heard a Dan Vasc/Chester collab. Thank you for joining me for this reaction to Dan Vasc covering Numb by Linkin Park.

Please remember that Dan spent two years sunken in deep depression. His empathy and sympathy comes from his whole being.

This shows Dan's empathetic side. I think he "feels" things deeply. Because he's also suffered with depression, he promotes a lot of positivity in a lot of his music and also just in his general disposition. Good to see you again and hoping for more Dan reactions, thankyou😃

This tribute is the perfect example of the kind of person Dan is. He uses his platform to reach people who are in need of support. Thank you for your reaction and support of the amazing Dan Vasc. Since you mentioned about protecting his voice, Dan said he always warms up his voice the day before he records and then doesn’t speak at all for the next 24hr after recording.

Thanks for reacting to this song by Dan. He really put in heart into it. Dan himself has suffered depression and come out of it stronger, so it must have resonated with him when he performed this one. Can't wait for Dan newest song which will probably be here by Valentine's Day or sooner.

Thanks for returning to Dan, and for reacting to this moving cover. Dan has spoken quite a few times about depression and suicidal thoughts, having struggled with them himself for a few years. He often posts something in September, National Suicide Month. It is a good reminder that we never know the pain that people may be experiencing. Thanks for your comments. Dan released this song just 3 days after Chester passed, which is insanely quick for him. He must have barely slept or eaten until after the cover was done and released.

Thank you Sebs. One of the main reasons that I subscribed to you was for your heartfelt reactions. This video showed your heart, once again. I was never familiar with Lincoln Park before viewing this video by Dan this past year. I have a deep faith in God, and the concept of suicide wrenches me down to my core. It pains me every time I hear of anyone that has done this OR people who have even thought about doing it. I am so grateful to everyone who use any public platforms to reach out to anyone struggling for whatever reason, inside themselves. We are all in this big world together and everyone needs to feel love and connections to the Universe. This happens with one word or gesture at a time, person-to-person. Kindness ROCKS and is so easy to give and such a blessing to receive. Let's all reach out to a stranger or two TODAY with a simple smile or kind word or gesture. Let's strengthen this Link of Life. I didn't know about Dan before this. I'm glad that I know of him now! I still wait to get out of the car if a Linkin Park song is on the radio. The young guys who volunteer for the valet parking at my VA hospital aren't used to a 60+ year old Linkin Park fan. I was 56 and driving home from shopping when I heard about Chester's death over the radio. I had to pull over...I cried for 20 minutes. When I finally got home I pulled up Linkin Park on RU-vid as clicked "Auto Play." And I cried a lot more.

Thank you for reacting to this performance. You're correct to say none of us has the right to judge another for anything. You can't know what is in the other person's mind and heart Please be aware of potential warning signs of depression and subtle messages someone is considered suicide. You can't tell yourself they would never do that. I did that once and the young man is now dead, found by his young son when he got home from school

Bravo Dan for being an advocate and voice for Mental Illness. Dan like many of us have become unashamed and speak of our illness openly. It’s how you get the message out to say “you’re not alone and there is help”. I believe that there is light in every darkness and I came from the darkest there is. My healing was my Faith in Jesus but there is a means for everyone to triumph in their own way. Please if you get nothing else from this hear. “Do not let your mental health define who you are!” As Dan says, you are amazing and you are needed! God Bless you all. For me music was and is a huge part of my healing and continues to be. Again TY Dan and thank you for furthering his discussion! “Speak out and Drown out the Stigma!”

If you want to look into working on your voice, I would highly recommend looking into Ken Tamplin. He’s a vocal coach on RU-vid and he was also in Dan’s video for “I’ll Make A Man Out Of You” (He was the guy that sang the part, “This guy’s got ‘em, I’m scared to death”). He’s a Christian rock singer who’s also a natural baritone that can sing really super high, and he has some singing courses that you can look into, as well as other educational videos on his channel. Something else to look into is bel canto singing. I don’t know if you’ve heard of it, but it’s an operatic technique that a lot of rock singers use to help them access more of the head voice/mixed range. Hope those tips help! 👍🏻

Hi Randy, I couldn’t agree more! I checked out Ken Tamplin’s videos and was so impressed with him and what he had to teach that I ended up getting his big singing course. I wonder if Ken Tamplin was one of Dan’s vocal teachers. (I’ve asked both of them) but am still waiting on an answer.

I'm pretty sure Dan's vocal training all took place in Brazil. From what I've read, he started very young. His mom is an opera singer and his dad was a musician and singer, too so I guess you could say that it's in his DNA. 😊@@karenm5681
